It's going lower ? Damn !!! The huge difference in output is annoying, but I will try it. I will build a sealed box for my 15" xcon. I will tell you how I feel from a 3.5 cu ft ported box to a 3 cu ft sealed box. I'm running mine with a Sundown saz 1500 d.

Need new sub suggestions please
Notorious97200 replied to streetbeater07's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I don't think the Death Row and the Havoc have the same goal. Do some more research and tell us more : goals, box internel size, electrical system,... That will help your future helpers!! -
I never looked at their price, but they must be the chepeast in their (monster sub) category. They are very popular. Hey, st Md had several in his tahoe. He is all around the internet !!! One day........for sure, I'll try one !!!!

Do you already have sub and amp? try to listen to your system without upgrades. Big 3 is strongly "recomanded". Get a voltmeter in your car to watch voltage drops. If you have too much drops, you can try the 2nd batt, and see if it is better. The HO alt is not always needed. But I know it is always better to run the exact same batteries in the trunk and under the hood. just watch your voltmeter to know if you need upgrades. A Btl will be very loud on 1500-2000 watts rms. The AQ 2200 is not a must ! On the cheap, you can find Audiopipe, MB Quart,... Used Sundown,...

That's a lot of woofers !!!12 15"s...........Damn The car must be really big ! Do you know what amps will be used ?
-
You will do the necessary upgrades and you want only one 15". You only talked about being loud. OK ! Go with one 1500-2000 watts rms amplifier (Sundown saz are very good ones). Sundown have a new one : the saz 2500, look for it ! You did not tell us the room you have available for your box. There are a lot of subs in the market : Sundown Z15v2, Sundown nightshade, Fi btl, Incriminator Audio Death Penalty or Death Row, DC Audio level 4 or 5,... Do some research, give us more info, and you will get better answers!!!

Looking real good, so far ! This one is not complicated enough?!!! Wow ! I'm waiting for yours ! Btw, it's a pitty that you don't sell designs. I need one for 2 15" Xcons.

He got a lot of informations! He needs to work a little ! For a first system, he should try to start with one sub and one amp. He will see what he wants to improve later. He does not have to spend all the money, he'd better keep some for all the wiring, accessories, box, battery(?), ... A good h u can be necessary too.

An Icon 10" or 12" in a ported box, on a 1000 watts amp (the cheapest you can find). Maybe he wants 2 subs? With $400, he'd better try only one sub. If he just wants to be loud, you have the Alpine type R. People seem to like this sub in the USA, it's cheap and can be loud too. With one or 2 type r's, he will have money left for a better amp. Good luck !

This part is sarcasm correct? I think he was talking about the orange one farther up the page, just lumped it into the same post. exactly !! I should have made 2 posts ! Sorry -
Is it for the new SSA demo vehicle ? tuned in for other pics

You're on the Sundown forum!!! What answers do you think you will get ? Sundown FTW !!! There is a new amp coming "soon" : the saz 2500. It can compare better to the RF 2500. Are you sure you need that much power for a single BTL ? Are you going to compete ? A Sundown saz 2000 can be enough for a BTL, but I think it's discontinued.
-
Nice box. I love the port, how can you do that ?!
-
Your neighbor can't fit a bigger box ? Your best choice is to try a 12" sub. How can people tell you to get an 18" ?!! He wants loud and low with $1500 : it's easy for a newbie to be happy with so much $. If you don't worry for the electrical part, get a 2000 watts amp(at 1 ohm) and one 12" sub like a Fi BTL or a Sundown Z (don't know if they make Z12?), or some Incriminator Audio sub( Death row, or Death penalty). Take a look at the ssa store to see what is available. The Sundown saz 2000 is a great amp, but you can use a cheaper one like Audopipe, Audioque or some Cadence.

You can keep the poster, I take the girl ! That Camaro is beautiful !!!! -
153 at 38 Hz ? Wow, that's loud! These amps are rated for what ? 5000 watts rms ? Dam... Waiting on box pics, please !

nice install with nice equipments !!! I'm tuned in. McGyver : I love your avatar !!! tough situation !!! -
I have read a lot on the subject, but I can't get a final answer. Like a lot of people in my country (we have small cars), I have limited space in my trunk, but still want to use a ported box. I've read that round ports can make me save space. But I don't understand how. The same rules should apply : 12-16 sq inch of port area per ch ft. What can I expect for a 3.5 cu ft box ? I would like to make a smaller box so that my amps can breathe Thanks

600rms sub amp
Notorious97200 replied to zdoc's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
There are dozens of amps around ! 2 channels amp can be really cheap on the ssa store, at powermax electronics, or on ebay. Try one if you're on a tight budget. But you should get a 4 ohm sub to run your amp at 4 ohms like others have said. Btw : why such a small sub ? Can't you try a 10" ? -
That is a Fi Q ? Looks huge, for a 10" ! They have always been like that ? with the big bottom ? Damn...!!! Btw : How can they lost a sub from USA to Canada ? Maybe someone has a 12 sub setup for free in his car !!!
-
Ok I got it ! But what is the rule ? I can use less port area, but how much less ? And How to choose from 1 port, 2 ports,...? Maybe someone can post a link where I can find all the info I need. Thanks Adrian

Help choosing sub(s)/amp for new build
Notorious97200 replied to joemacgames's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Seems like a good choice ! You can find cheaper (and still "good") amplifiers like Audiopipe for example. The Sundown sae 1200 d is a monster : I think it can give you the 1500 watts you want ! Not expensive for an amp like that ! I don't know nothing about the options, but you need D2 to reach a 1 ohm load on the amp. Think twice about the size of the sub : a 12" is not bad, and need a smaller box : so you can put the sub in the optimal box easier. But, if you have the room you can have a huge 18" !!! Good luck -
Help choosing sub(s)/amp for new build
Notorious97200 replied to joemacgames's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
a 130 amp alt ? I think you can use a 1500 watts amplifier easily, without a second battery. Just do the big 3 ! The BTL is a monster, is it what you need ? I don't know. With 1500 watts it should be loud enough. You will give him more power later if you need it. Don't go cheap on the box with these kind of beasts !!! The Sundown Z15v2 is another monster. (that I would like to try one day) -
In France you can have what you want, everywhere except on the windshield : nothing is allowed. But you'd better roll down the windows when you pass by the cops if it's too dark. They don't like tint, they want to see you, even if it's not illegal! I have 10% on the sides and on the back, so I roll down when needed and I turn down the stereo when I see the cops !!! I don't want any problem !
