That's abig woofa ! I believe they make it in 12", 15" and 18". More than $1000 for just one !!! :suicide-santa:

Tell us what you're looking for. With 1500w, you will love a btl, but I can't tell you nothing about the RE. Why a 15" RE vs a 18"BTL ? The RE 18" is more expensive, or what ? I would get the 18" btl if you have enough room.

Same sub, same box and same power will give you different results depending of the car :electrical system, trunk or no trunk, hatch, car volume,... I listened to a 15" xcon in a ported box in a very small car (an old Renault Clio) : it was incredible, sooo powerfull. The same sub/box/power in my car (an hatchback car too, but way bigger) : I had much less output. I ended with a sealed box firing back, and I love it : I feel like it is more powerfull now !!! So, we can't tell you how it will compare with your buddy's instal. You will have to test and to let us know !!please !

Back to tha office Had a nice trip to St Marteen: casinos, duty free shopping, wonderful beaches, hot night clubs,...(they speak English and pay in US $ : what a change for me !!!)

will a hifonics BRZ 2400 watt rms be too much for the 18" BTL
Notorious97200 replied to anthonyvo17's topic in General Fi
Keep your amp. Try to set the gain with your ears. If you can! Or find someone who can do it or/and explain it to you. Never try to play with your h u at full volume. Only 3/4 maximum. This should help for a clean signal. Listen to your sub. It can't make weird noise. Be aware... Don't go cheap on the box. Use an enclosure built to the specs of the sub. You can contact some good designers and builders on this forum. Good luck. -
Maybe you can try to put something (like a clothe, or a piece of rubber, plastic,...!?) Behind the panels that vibrate. It will keep them tight on the body of the car. You must find where do the panels move and hit something. Then you stop each noise, one by one. I've started to do that in my car : not easy, but works.

Good luck with this new alt. DC seems to be one of the best choices. -
Alpine or Pioneer? Cant Decide...
Notorious97200 replied to slim142's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I like Pioneer, they sound good ! My deh p88 is soooo niiiice. It's up to you. But I think you don't need all the features of an Alpine 9887. Buy the cheapest, that fits your goals:ipod, usb,... Why don't you buy 2 12"s sub for your sa2000?2 Fi bl's , 2 ssa Icons? Or one powerful 15" sub(an smd would work well on 2000 watts, if you want one). A good custom box, and you're good to go. One pair of type x should be enough on a 125.2, but you can run a 100.4, you would have 2 more channels for another set in the rear(if you want). Good luck !!! -
(2) 15 Fully Loaded BTLs or (2) 15 DD 3500?
Notorious97200 replied to justinharry1's topic in Fi Products
I think you had enough advices to go for the btl's !!! Btw the Q is not for you : not made to be loud as an spl sub, only rated for 1000 watts rms ! -
Just put it in the trunk, move it until you find the best config. An 18" on 2200 watts ? You (or he, your brother) WILL love it!! No doubt !

rockford vs audioque
Notorious97200 replied to whatnow275's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
More power for less money? I'd'get the AQ ! It's not a fair comparison. AQ 2200 - RF 2000 maybe ?! Don't get caught in the marketing tricks. Both are good brands IMO. -
They sell Bravox on the ssa store. I don't know how you can say Bravox > Focal. Have you played with both brands ? Several models ? Impious made a review about one set of Bravox here, but it's the only one I've ever saw. That was a very positive review, though.

I would prefer the btl, for sure ! Even a single 12 btl in a proper box should hit really hard! If it's what you're looking for. In my car, I run a single 15 ssa xcon in a sealed box, and I love it !!!
-
If you only have 8 cu ft to work with, the 18's won't fit ported. Maybe sealed. But 2 15's will like that volume. With the port the subs will have less than 7 cu ft. It should be enough. But I'm no expert in box design. There are some build logs with 2 xcons, take a look at them.

With $350 you can get a powerfull 15" sub ! But just One ! The 2 sa's or ssd's can be good too. Here are some ideas to study : Fi bl or maybe btl, Ssa Xcon, Incriminator Death row, sundow Z,...and many more! Good "work" !
-
I have listened to several entry level comp sets (Pioneer, Audiopipe, Jbl, Clarion, dragster,.... And many more). They all were far away from the Focal sets! Yes, Focal is expensive. But you must know what you want. I like clear and powerful sound, and I don't mind paying for quality. I run a set of 165 KP, and they're amazing. I have them for 4 years. They were in my older car. About 500$ well invested IMO ! I know the tweeters are not the best I've heared. They are not the worst on the market ! In my country we only have access to Focal and Davis Acoustics for good car audio speakers. I'm quite sure our local shops sell a lot more Audiopipe and Pioneer!!!

Want to get my hubby a pair of xcons
Notorious97200 replied to LadyPink's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
I forgot to add that you can trust the moderators, here. They give you excellent advices. It always makes me smile when I see them talking about some products without trying to push their own brand !!! But this time you had an answer by one of ssa's Bosses !!! Sir DeNim himself ! -
Want to get my hubby a pair of xcons
Notorious97200 replied to LadyPink's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
That's a niiiice gift for your husband. :) Can't tell you anything about the TDX, but the Xcons are wonderful, and impressive ! He will love them. Impalas has big trunk, he will be able to fit a 7-8 ft3 enclosure in it easily. Tell us what amp he uses to choose the VC config of the subs. -
Wow ! Into a pick up ? That's a great technical build. Congrats ! Need more pics...
-
Really nice truck ! what subs do you want to replace by the AA SMD's? The rims are beautiful, but I would not like to be the one who have to clean them up. 5 spokes rims are easier to clean !!! Good luck with the smd's. But you can run them with 2 3500 saz, why do you think you need the 4500's? For headroom ? it's a bit expensive!!! again, nice truck !!! Congrats
-
:fing34:Thanks! Now I know what to do? And I know it's possible!
-
You think 3000 watts is not enough for a smd AA sub? You were running the stetsom at 1 ohm ? on this sub ? How does the Yaris like it ? For the engine, you told us, but how does the car itself react ? Do you use a lot of deadening materials ? I have an Auris (a little bigger than the Yaris) and I would like to upgrade the alt for a bigger instal in the future. Is it a kind of custom alt, or something they have in stock usually ?

T3 T600's, AQ SDC2.5's, or SA 12's
Notorious97200 replied to loondizie52's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
If you already have 2 sa'a, get some more ! and post pics of the install when it's done !
