Welcome ! Your box seems really small, but I don't know what do this sub need ! You'd better look at the specs on the Pioneer website. Your amp is powerful enough for the sub (more than 1000 w rms )

Tuned in ! X C O Ns FTMW !!! (Gas is 4-5 $ a gallon here)

sounddeadenershowdown.com or Secondskinaudio.com : they have a sub forum here. They're both cheaper and more efficient than Dynamat. They will give you good informations about how to use their product. Don't use peal&seal product that you can find for house, roof, buildings ! Good luck !

Finding the right amp for a odd ohm load
Notorious97200 replied to Aurelios's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'd rather get a Cadence amp than an Audiopipe, but that's me ! You need a class D amp for the bass. AP is cheap, Clarion has some cheap & good amps too. Audioque may be a little more expensive, but take a look, you never know. Even an Alpine pdx 1000 is not so expensive on ebay! Take your time to choose. There are too much amps on the market to focus only on the Audiopipe ! You can find wonderful deals on used amps or at db-r.com. -

Why do you want to tune so low ? 30-33 hz should be really good for music !

They love sealed box ! and ported too !!! You can use a 2000 watts amp for them, for sure ! But 1500 watts is enough. I don't think you will be able to feel the added power! This 1500 watts amp is a beast (!!!) Read some topics in the ssa sub forum to get more informations.

Welcome ! All the Sundown amps ratings are for a 1 ohm load, but if you run the saz 1500,for example, at 2 ohms it will give you 800 watts !...(lol) The Dcon combo is good. But I'd rather use the 125.2 amp on the front speakers and a 1000 watts amp on the subs : 2 dcons at 2 ohms will get about 500-600 watts from a Sundown sax 1200. That would be a sick setup ! A single Icon on the same amp should sound sooo good too (my choice) ! You can see the recommanded enclosures in the tech center here. Do you have enough room in your trunk for what you want ? It's the first thing to look out.IMO

question about amp n subs
Notorious97200 replied to grnrpr68's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
1) You can strapp(link) your 2 amps, and just set the gains on the master amp. You will have to use only one remote. But be careful with the final ohm load on the amps. ! 2) you can wire each sub on its own amp, and use the 2 remotes with a simple (phone) connector : this will let you have only one knob (this kind of connectors can be found easily in any electric supply shop.) It's simple and cheap. A friend of mine uses the 2nd solution, but he found that he had to cut/shorten the remote wire because of a loss in output (?!) I can't understand why, but he is happy with the result ! Good luck ! -
Your numbers are impressive, with such low power ! :fing34:

Finding the right amp for a odd ohm load
Notorious97200 replied to Aurelios's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Instead of saving for a jl 1000/1, you can simply buy a bigger amp (1500 or 2000 wattsat 1 ohm). Be careful with the gain setting. And don't try to play under 1 ohm, it's not safe. If you need to upgrade your subsin the future, you will already have a powerful enough amp. Listen to Impious : "Pretty bad idea. Don't run those subs together" -
x2 and this amp is 1 ohm stable as long as you have the electrical to support it. 3000 at 2 ohms IIRC

need imput on a amp for 2 12inch xcons
Notorious97200 replied to blaine612's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Forget the cap, it will not do anything good for you ! I think the deka batts are cheap and good ones. Optima's are not bad batteries, they may not be the best but if you have a good deal on them, get some. (I think you'd better get the Yellow or the Blue ones). You would need at least one under the hood and one in the back near the amps. The Crescendo amp is like the old Sundown 3000, much better IMO than the Audiopipe ! But the AP will work, don't worry ! Even with 2000 watts, your subs will pound hard ! Take a look at the Classifieds section here, for great deals Take advantage of the september Sundown sale. or db-r.com (official repair center for Sundown and others) -
