Well i think i will need a new amp kit, I am using a cheap 4ga ( American accessories ). But I just upgraded amps. I will be running an AudioQue 1200d, and Kicker 350.4 with a kinetik HC 800 in the trunk. I am leaning towards a Kicker amp kit, and a knu concepts. Will 4ga be enough?

I do nothing but structural work. We just do not weld anything on our aircraft -

do you think the knu is better? I would like to get the amp kit from Knu but the power wire is too short -

Ok i did find that kit,but its only 17ft of cable, and i need 20. 20' only left me with about 8" to work with in the trunk I guess im just going to buy the wire by the foot. can i use my 4ga as the ground? my battery ground is about 10" away, and my amps are grounded to my battery -

No description necessary Sorry bout the mess,my Barracks arent exactly organized I had to shove the boxes in my uniform locker hahaha

yes that is my only concern that is why I was going with a round port in the in the first design, would save me 1.5^ft3.... still might do that if i can figure out how to use winISD and see what one would be loudest 6.0 with a huge slot port or a 8" round port
-
Ok what i have come up with is 100" of port. Enclosure will be 39.5Wx18.25Hx22.5D with a 6"x16.75"x20"port at 34hz. Anyone agree/disagree? the only problem i see is when i graphed it on WINISD its showing the sound will drop off tremendously at 36hz and above
-
A slot port works for me unless box size becomes an issue. how many Sq inch would you make the port? the height will be 16.75" I want to make the port as large as possible which would be 6.5" wide. the box is 39.5 so it would be a very tight squeeze, but i want to move as much air as possible. Mind you I will be running 1000rms(conservatively) was going for 34-38hz tuning, i listen to ALL types of music. but mainly rap or RnB. SQ is not a factor just wanna get ER loud
-
that works for man, how big would you make it? how many s

i was thinking more along the lines of a single 8" pvc port or a 5.5"x16.75" slot port
-
a 6" aeroport for a pair of 15s?
-
thanks, I seem to think so. I think im going to do a 5.5"x16.75" slot port, that gives me 6.05 after port displacement
-
Now i just cant decide how to port. i have 7.35^3ft i can either do a huge 8" port and make the enclosure small to get my goal of 6.0 after displacement, or do a huge slot port
-
Just lost my father last month, I know exactly how it feels. But like you said, Rock out for him!!! im sure thats what he would want
-
here is a rough idea of what i meant. Ofcourse the subs and port would be closer then this but it gives you an idea, wouldnt i gain about 3/4" if i did this?
-
I have 4.45^ft3 to work with, before port displacement, I am going to invert the subs. I only have 800rms. I have a single Re SE 12 in 2.5 slot port 35hz now, an its just not loud enough. I was either going to get two 187 12s with a single 6 or 8" round port, or one Lethal injection 15 and a single 6 or 8" port..... This is going into the trunk of my car, and surprisingly it is louder with the sub and port firing into the cabin(with the seats down). what do you think will get the loudest. This is just a daily driver, roughly 34-37hz will be the tuning and has anyone mess with the Hifonics square subs, are they of any quality. Im just worried that using an 8" port will take up too much air space so two 6" ports may be metter
-
i understand that but two 6" ports will consume more airspace then one 8" port and the larger port has more sq in over all.will having the subs as far to the left and right hurt anything. the edge of the sub surround will line up with the edge of the box. Or i can( and like the idea of) putting one of the subs in the bottom left corner of the enclosure and the other sub at the top right
