If people had issues with them it was more than likely user error so how does that help you. And if it was defected or DOA from the company im sure they take care of their customers. Great amps for the money. Its electronics, so yes some people are going to have issues (just the nature of the industry).
Depending on where your subwoofer is crossed at, a high pass filter of 60/80 hz should be fine. Just find a bass heavy track or one of your loudest tracks and use that song as guideline. If you see or hear any stress then up the frequency or turn the gain down some.

Like stated earlier in this thread, the date doesnt matter as they are built in batches.The batches do not go by days until your are in that batch, then they are made in the particular order they were purchased.
