That tweeter is huge, I dont see how it won't work out. You know my vote would be for the SB Acoustics SB29RDNC-C000-4.

Thanks for the heads up -
Start hiding your license plates when posting pics. Most people just scribble the letters and numbers out.

Yes two 12s is more cone area than one 15" but its not a huge leap like people make it out to be. Usually they say it takes double the power and double the cone area to really hear a difference. Give us more info about your install, to help us help you. Once again your box could be an issue, the setting on your amp or headunit could be off, your electrical might not be up to par. If you are having issues with your current install then swapping it out for different equipment is not the best option.

Good shit Steve, keep on keeping on. -
Congrats man

Actually he said the sub is irrelevant, meaning it is not a concern right now. There are other things to do to his current install before looking at new sub(s): new box, electrical up to par, etc.

Amplifier Issues

Pop off the top and open here up, shoot some pictures. Its hard to troubleshoot just by guessing. -
Is this score with both 18s and both 2000s, how low is your box tuned?

Horns look great, what made you go with the 6.5 SF and not a pro audio driver? You just doing one pair of mids. horns look great -
this industry is becoming more monkey see monkey do, well I seen a youtube video where he did this.

No need for the extra pair of tweeters, you already said one was loud enough. Just sell them. Trust me I used to have 21 interior speakers in my car, so I know a little something about overkill. The more speakers is not always gonna net better results, just stick to doing fiberglassed doors. Just my .02 and cant wait to see the box completed.
-
Cool let me know how they work for ya.
-
It seems like know you're buying equipment and just shoving it in places. I wouldnt put mids and tweeters there. Just make your front doors house one or two 8s each and one tweeter. Stop buying equipment just to buy it, thats the first way to loose money.

The Big Three question!!
jcarter1885 replied to Syphlyn's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I just redid my grounds under the hood. I left all stock wiring going to my battery alone. I added two grounds with 1/0 wire to my battery: one going to a bolt on the alternator/engine block, the other wire going to the frame where my radiator support bolt is located. Frame ground helped to smoothen out the car when I start it up. I only replaced one stock wire under my hood and thats because my car is a 1997 and the wire was brittle, it was on the opposite side of the engine from the battery. The wire was a ground going from my engine block to my strut bolt. At first i replaced it with two 4 gauge wires with ok results, today i replaced it with 1/0 wire. -
What's the best 3,000-3,500 watt mono block class d amp i can get?
jcarter1885 replied to sundownclown's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Yes but make sure to upgrade that wire to 1/0 or better and watch the voltage. Make sure to be gentle on the gain and dont go crazy. I hope the Big 3 wiring is done underhood in 1/0 as well. Get an AGM battery for under the hood as well, the biggest one you can fit. How big is the trucks stock alternator? The question would be would I do it, no I wouldnt. But there are probably a few people who have ran 2k on a stock electrical with good results. -
Thought about blacking out the GMC symbol in the grill?

The Big Three question!!
jcarter1885 replied to Syphlyn's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
1 or 2 is fine, you can either run all your grounds to your batt. Then from batt to frame. Or you can run all your grounds directly to the frame. Whichever is easier. -
Not trying to be rude, just make sure it is not asphalt and just do some research. At the end of the day deadner is only gonna do so much, vehicle reinforcement is much more effective.

Does it usually take this long to get a response?

good to hear -
Those are sub par enclosures at best, some of the better pre-fab boxes though I must admit. I just recently used the box on the first linked you posted. 2 Ethos would require a better built enclosure in my opinion. With 2-12" IA Lethal Injections, it flexed like crazy. The double baffle is bad for the port because they didnt cut out enough wood to make the opening, you will need a router to knock out some wood. I seen where somebody used body filler to make an even transition from port to actually port opening in baffle. With the $150 you could easily buy the materials to make an enclosure. Im sure Q wouldnt mind helping you with a design and cut sheet. Take it to Lowes or Home Depot and ask a nice gentleman to make cuts for you. Buy Titebond 2 wood glue, screws and some clamps (Harbor Freight has them for cheap). If that is way beyond the work you want to put in the find a reputable shop to build a box for ya. Even try posting a cragslist ad to see if anybody would be willing to build an enclosure for ya.

Wow. Just a pick an audio brand since your not taking any advice. There are plenty companies making deadner, flip a coin and choose.
