Just the stock one and its not going below 12 even when im playing at idle. what upgrades do you plan on doing to your truck or are you gonna keep it as is, how did you like the performance of the batcap 2000

did you have a volt reader with you today when you were making videos, if so how was your voltage. that flex was incredible, looks like that xstatic is doing its job

QUestion #1-so correct me if im wrong and i know you guys will. my saturn ion has a 105 amp alternator and my system will be drawing somewhere close to 300Amps, so that totals up to around 405Amps. These are the three options of thinking of but correct me if im wrong (which is the best?): Option #1- Get two 200A alternators and a good starting battery. Option #2- Get the 200A alternator along with my 105A alternator thas in my car and a battery with 95(AH) or more to go with it. Option #3- Get a 200A alternator and two XS Power D2700(103 AH). Im just trying to make sure my electrical is sufficient and i understand the correct way to have enough electrical power to run my system without shotrtcuttin. Question #2- now here is where i get confused xs power says that D2400 will power a system with up to 4000watts if used as a secondary battery. So if i had a stock battery and a xspower d2400 i should be able to power my system with no upgrades to my stock battery or stock alternator. In acutuallity do you go by the watts of your system or do you add up the amp draw and try to even it with some beefy electrical? Is xsPower using this as a gimmick to purchase batteries? apprecaite the help and info -
1 ohm, 2ohm, 4ohm, WTF!
jcarter1885 replied to Kyleebbert's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
it doesnt matter what BL you get just make sure if you get a dual 1 ohm sub then you can wire it to 0.5 ohms or 2 ohms ; if you get a dual 2 ohm sub then you can wire it 1 ohm or 4 ohms. Once you figure out what sub your gonna get then you figure out how you want to wire it and what amp you need. For example if you get a dual 2 ohm subwoofer, you should wire it down to 1 ohm and then find you a 1 ohm stable amp that does rated rms as your subwoofer or a little more. -
hopefully in 15 days (give or take a little) i will be recieving my tracking number, june is almost ove with and i cant wait because lately i have noy been able to sleep with all this anticipation building up.

well i will have to wait till tomorrow once u test everything out to see if its the beast that the ceo or xstatic told me it was also

Yep, I was gunna go with a powermaster d3100 but i went and talked to mike jones at my local shop and he swayed me towards the batcap 2000 and said it should handle 3000 rms. I thought it was fishy but who knows, He is a SPL world record holder lol. (edit - or maybe he used to be, idk but he was one a lot of awards.) what all was he saying bout the batcap 2000 and what it could be capable of

i appreciate you to the fullest because i been looking for alternators for a long time, if i were to get a 200 amp alernator will i also have to get a secondary battery or will i be fine with the h/o alternator and a good starting battery(xs power d5100, odyssey or deka battery) -

my question for you is when u finally get it wired and going i wanna know how that batcap 2000 will fare on that 3000w rms amp. i was considering a batcap 2000 for my system since i had the 800 series in my old system and it faired quite well. is the battery underhood stock?

well i definantly appreciate the info and you help me saved some money since the redtop is chepaer, but thats also what i heard but everyone has the preferences i guess. but i will just go with the red top for starting battery. -

no problem, i think the price difference is 50 dollars. its not about the price with my batteries as of now its the space. both of my batteries will be in the trunk since thats where saturn puts their primary batteries. the primary battery's compartment is between 11-12" and there is a spot next to it under 10". So i was gonna put the xs power d2400 in the primary location for the system and the optima as a starting battery next to it. Or get the xspower d2400 in the primary location for the system and the xspower d5100 as the starting battery next to it but i didnt really see the sense of paying that much for a starting battery thats why i start asking about optima since it will fit also. -

i plan on getting an optima for under the hood and a xspower d2400 for the trunk but i was just asking holley how those two yellowtops were doing on his system thats all. i just wanted to know which would be better for a starting battery the yellow or red (i barely play music with my car off). -

appreciate the feedback, do u have the yellowtops as one underhood and one in the rear by amps or a stock battery with both yellow tops; just kinda curious how two yellowtops are doing with close to 3000rms which will be my setups rms. thanks -

i dealt with optima before and their not a problem, i know they been going downhill but im not about to pay over $200 for a starting battery im sorry just not my cup of tea. its either a optima 75/25 or the odyssey thats compatible but thats over $200, maybe later but not know. these are the only two that fit where i would like them to go without doing any modifications, so right now im either looking at a yellowtop or a redtop 75/25 as of now and i might just settle for the red since it will just be for starting the vehicle. -
nevermind i already made up my mind, gonna run with a deka deep cycle battery for starting battery and xs power d2400 for my car audio

Crossover Or Equalizer ?
jcarter1885 replied to Kent535's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
how big is his box, port and what frequency is it ported at. wheres the port at it didnt see it and they didnt sound ported, whats the specs of the amp he is using. -
Crossover Or Equalizer ?
jcarter1885 replied to Kent535's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
amp and bass stoppers wont help at all, if he gets some more speakers 6.5" or bigger and and amp then he should be ok. -
Crossover Or Equalizer ?
jcarter1885 replied to Kent535's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
in my opinion, 2-4" speakers and 4 tweeters running stock on an amp or no amp will keep up with 3-12" kicker cvx's even with 700 watts rms coming from an amp and this is speaking from experience -
keep me posted on any updates jacob, appreciate ya. working on system till i get this powerful beast.

power wire vs ground wire for battery
jcarter1885 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
if on my battery i am running a 2 gauge wire to my alternator and a 2 gauge wire to my amps coming from the positive battery terminal post, is ok to wire one 0 gauge wire from the battery to the frame or does it have to be (2)-2 guage wires going from the battery's negative terminal post to frame. in the long run after running two batteries i will come up with close to 5 ground wires that needed to be grounded to the frame and i wanted to lighten the load if possible but if not its cool. -
power wire vs ground wire for battery
jcarter1885 replied to jcarter1885's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Appreaciate ya, So basically there is no ratio for power to ground wires. An example to make sure were both clear and on the same page; once i get my big three done i will have three power wires leaving my main battery( 4gauge to alternator, 2gauge to alternator and 2gauge to secondary battery) and having one-1/0 gauge ground wire leaving battery to frame of car. Correct????? Thanks KU40 Yeah that sounds good. Was the 4 gauge from the alternator to battery the stock wire and then you just added the 2 gauge wire alongside it? your correct, would it hurt to toss a 2 gauge ground alongside the 1/0 gauge or will the 1/0 gauge be sufficient.
