need an amp for my Icon15

If you know that it will be a for sure upgrade next year or so, go ahead and get the Sundown Saz-2000d since you want to run it at 2 ohms. The Clarion seems to be a good amp, whatever one is cheaper you cant go wrong with.

need an amp for my Icon15

why 2 ohms if i may ask, the sundown saz-1500 wont be push those subs how you want them to but it will do some justice.
  4. Ive had this problem before, check your remote wires' connection at the radio to the amps, and the wire between that for damage. If thats not the problem then split the remote wires before daisy chaining them, maybe the amps dont like to be wired like that. As you can tell when you switched them from last year the sound switched from what speakers it came from, and if it is not the remote turn on wire itself then its the amps; some amps just have a loud delay turn off from some reason.
  5. Ive heard the same thing on other forums but every since I been here nobody even brought it up and I didnt do it because I figured it was useless, I just focused on buildng a well built solid enclosure.

box for 2 15" fi btl fully loaded

either build one big box and give each sub its own chamber or two different boxes, thats all personal preference. I have my subs all in the same chamber with no problem at all. the port should be 12-16 square inches of area per cubic foot of volume.

    (2) 18" RL-P subwoofers in a jeep

You would have to check you tube out or google these speakers, Ive only heard eminence, seleniums in person. There are a lot of people running all the other brands listed so you cant go wrong. My setup wil consist of eminences mid-ranges, two mach 5 audio mid-basses and seas tweeters. Just check out these websites and see what you are willing to pay, what your looking for, what frequencies you want and ohm loads that are available for your amp needs and go from there. Its just personal opinion and what your willing to try, just do some research and narrow it down then come back with options; we can go from there. www.madisound.com www.parts-express.com www.speakercity.com

box for 2 15" fi btl fully loaded

Personally both boxes follow within their guidelines but I would go with Box 2 since it is bigger and the port size depends on what frequency that you want it tuned (between 30-35Hz.

    (2) 18" RL-P subwoofers in a jeep

You can take your pick when it comes to mid-ranges or mid-bass, tell me which one you prefer and then we can get started. Then you have to decide do you want to find some tweeters which you can get from some of the companies Im about to mention. If Mid-range I would got with some Eminence Alpha 6C or Seleniums. If you want Mid-bass try the Mach 5 Audio mli-65, Pearless, Morel, Focal, Scan Speak or Ascendant Audio Carbon 7" speakers. If you keep looking at the components at least you get a tweeter and speaker combo. The amp you listed is ok, but like you said just keep the Sundown Audio combination (thats my plan) and go with the 50.4 or 100.4 depending on the amount of rms you will need for your frontstage. I would go for 27-30 Hz with the RL-p 18" and you will be good to go.

    Which sub should i buy?

4.25 ft^3 is too small for an 18" ported enclosure, now if it was sealed it would be a different story. If you cant go any bigger box wise I would get 1-15" or 2-12" subwoofers, dont choke your subwoofers give them some room to breathe.

    (2) 18" RL-P subwoofers in a jeep

I would get an Aundown Saz-2000d or a Incriminator Audio 20.1, both will work well with these subs. I would go for 8ft^3 or larger for a sealed box or 10ft^3 or larger for a vented box. What room do you have, go measure how much you have in inches for Width x Height x Depth where the box will go. Then you will need to get the Big 3 Wiring Done if not done so already , and start looking at xspower batteries, deka, batcaps and see what you prefer? What other amps will you have in the car, for your highs and mids?
  14. nope. right now i just have the stock speakers and they are running off the headunit. I had planned before to get a front stage and another amp but other things came up that i wanted. Such as, i just dropped like $700 on a snowboard and bindings and i still need new boots. So stuff like that just been getting in the way and im not doing competitions or anything so im not like in a rush to perfect this system... ALL i got is amp (sundown 1200d), headunit (alpine 9886), substage (fi q), and the wiring.... thats it. Also i just did some searching... what if i bought a powermaster D1200 and then maybe a redtop for my starting battery if i need it? Yeah the more power you add the more power you will have for your amp. I would get the xs power d1200 first and once you get some more money go ahead and get a red top, considering your still dropping voltage wise.

yeah man no problem, enjoy and bang on.
  18. Great Customer Service. I Just sent out my amp and he is sending out a new one. Oh I wasnt downing the customer service, just a general rule of thumb when it comes to getting things for free; either you lose it or it breaks. But yeah great customer service, thats why I love these companies that arent that main stream like (rockford or kicker).

    box mounted amp

Honestly Ive had all my sub amps on the box for every system I have had for 4 years and never hurt an amp from that, usually came from my stupidity with the controls or sub wiring to low of an ohm load. Some say do it, some say dont do it but if you dont have the room then thats you gotta go. On the other hand if you do have extra room in the trunk or cab of the truck then use the extra room to mount it their. That was not the cause of the amp blowing, that was because of the hifonics an Im glad I didnt buy one like I wanted to and did research over the past couple of years for them and they have to many that go bad while some have great success with them (50/50 quality, not good enough for me). Just get a better quality amp and you will be ok, good luck in the future and bang on.
  20. logically think about what does the bass boost knob control, the bass boost; so yeah it is worthless. If you wan to keep your knob for looks or anything just set the bass boost where your comfortable and if you do decide to use turn the knob, but as long as you have the knob at its lowest setting it wont add the boost. The knob is a level controller for the amount of bass boost that you set on your amp, a fixed variable(whether its 2db, 4db or 6db). If your amp is on 4db the bass boost know will control it from the lowest point of 4db to the highest point of 4db.

    JL Audio e1400d

I woud sell the sub and keep the amp, this will save you more money in the long run if you want to keep the amp. Go on the ssa.com shop and check out these three subs that will work out better for ya: Incriminator Audio 187 10" Dual 2 ohms($99) or Sound Splinter RL-i 10" Dual 2 ohms($165). Both of these subs will do 300 rms at 4 ohms, perfect for your amp and good luck.
  22. Those pioneers play low all day and really dont pick the highs up tp well, so tuning at the point is worthless period. I have had experience with these pioneers and they dig the lows like 15"s and 18"s. My box now is tuned to 30Hz, digs deep and gets loud; if I were you I would tune between 28-30Hz. Trust me you will love it.

    speaker wire

Mine was hard to get through also, so i cut 2 or 3 slits in the ran it with my finger and coat hanger to the first slit, then pulled the wire a good amount. then put it back in the slit to head towards the second one and so on. worked perfect and havent had any problems for over 3 years. hope it helps
  24. sometimes thats what happen when you get things for free, but hey im glad to hear the problem is fixed. bang on
