check your grounds, run a different pair of rca's becuase the one's you are using could be bad or your amps may be to close together -
3-12" Icons, 2-15" Icons or 1-18" Xcon
jcarter1885 replied to jcarter1885's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
yeah thats what I have been thinking especially with that saz-2000d those icons would come to life, the only problem is I never had a 15" subwoofer and been wanting one plus that Xcon is wifey material. I finally got the company narrowed down after a year now I hope it doesnt last that long for which one they offer because their both great looking products with excellent reviews. -
did you use any sealer or clear coat on top or just straight black paint. sorry for all the questions just really impressed with how yours came out and have been skeptical about doing mine for some time now.

the best result is to change your ground in your engine bay area, whether its the alternator to engine block or cars frame. if your car is like mine and the alternator does not have a grond wire then change the wire leaving the engine block going to the cars frame with 1/0 gauge and make sure you scratch all the paint off till you get bare metal surface. i had the whine problem for over three years, tried all the methods(grouding rcas, extra ground fro the head unit, moving amps, buying expensive rca's and going back to cheap rca's, buying different head units, then buying better amps) nothing seem to work completely. some of these tricks reduced the sound but it would still be noticeable until i cut the bass on. once i added the upgradedd ground have not had that problem in over a week since i did the process and im completely happy cuz thats been driving me crazy forever

yeah that stock color trim panel sucked, I like the new color and you gave me some ideas for my car. what did you use and the process to get it to that finish so it will last in heat and not fade? also what would you reccoment to cover screw holes in plastic panels before i do some coloring to the panels.

have you guys let it break in yet since you bought or did you put it in their throwing full power at it

that box is 4.19ft^3 @ 29.05 Hz here is a better box for ya: 16.5"H x 31"W x 21"D (Outside) 15"H x 3.5"W x 20.5"L (Port) = 52.50 in^2 (Port Area Range:46-61in^2) 3.82 ft^3 @ 32.98Hz after port and sub displacement since you want it at 33 Hz
-
yeah i been waiting since i bought mine in may, just look at the holdup as a good thing. get everthing together in your car, system and electrical wise so you will be good to go. but yeah they should be giving tracking numbers out by the end of this week, thats all.

3-12" Icons, 2-15" Icons or 1-18" Xcon
jcarter1885 replied to jcarter1885's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
well i been posting and still undecided on what to do or what to get, im in the process of selling my kicker cvx's and box which I dont want to do but oh well. the only for sure company I want subs from is SSA. The choices from the topic title have changed, was gonna start a new topic but thought that would of been useless. the choice is 2-12" Icons or 1-15" Xcon on a Sundown Saz-2000d. after redoing box measurements I came to a final design of: 4.32 Ft^3 @ 30.91 Hz with 62.50 in^2 of Port Area (Range 52-69in^2) 14.47in^2/cube I was thinking subs up and port back between the subs(in the middle of front baffle when looking into trunk. I personally love the lows and what to get loud, I want to get an Xcon sooo bad but everytime I read a review or see a video of Icons I change my mind and want them more. All thoughts, opinions and .02 are appreciated. -
x3 because the sundown is the only one thats rms when bridged is what the subwoofers can handle, get it now while its on sale.

just check your email everyday and wait till you get a tracking number just like any other product you order online

i understand and thats why i said AQ1200d since I have had experience with them and kicker was out his budget completely. I would rather him go that route at least before he gets into the cheap mainstreams
-
subwoofer wise are you trying to stay sundown audio. maybe try the Ascendant Audio mayhem 15"s for now until the Sundown monsters come out and they have some monsters coming out also the ***. hope this helps

please show me a picture of the lights, wheres the love.

you know that your absolutely right

So your saying anybody who tunes below the Fs is being absurd with their enclosure, so some of the people on this forum with a ported enclosure in their system is setup wrong. I see people tuning below the Fs on this website alot (the nightshades and the xcon(FS=31.3) people are tuning them to 28-30 and 31). Explain it to me so I can understand, you know more than me and thats why Im trying to clarify; hope it doesnt seem like I wanna argue or just be an arseho because Im not. The more information I get the better I can become. thankx Lets take Kicker CVX 12" for example: So should people tune to any number between the frequency response which is 20-500Hz (no where more than 50Hz) or tune above the Fs of the CVX which is 26.4? Or as long as you tune above 30Hz you dont have to worry about those numbers, its just preference or what your goal for your system is?
-
depends on how you like your bass and what music you listen to, I would tune between 30-33Hz

haha you guys are hilarious, its just sundown or nothing. Sundown goes down as one of the greats but its not the only thing out their, just try to help the dude with a good quality amp in his price range. He stated his goals and his budget which is limited, at least giving him options instead of one company and one company only (let him decide just give people better options and choices). The cheapest pound for pound great amplifiers out their are Sundown and Aq. Kicker and Rockford would work but are too expensive especially for you price range. Audioque AQ1200D New $249.00 Sundown Sae-1000D Refurbished $275.00 Sundown Saz-1000d Refurbished $275.00 Sundown Saz-1000D New $280.00 Sundown Saz-1000d new would be the best route to go, if you can save an extra $80 or more bucks before the end of July then you will have a great piece of equipment but if not (considering these bad economic times) then your less expensive solutions would work too.

Welcome to the forum, first give us some more information to help us help you. What car will it go in, what space do you have available, what other equipment will be used and do you have any upgrades to your electrical. I would stick to what FI recommends for their sub and no matter which size you pick within their specs should do you justice.
-
both amps are slightly underrated, one is entry level and the other is not

WHAT AMP SHOULD I GET!!! HELP PLZ.
jcarter1885 replied to mreverything212's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
well since know one wants to help you I'll give you my .02, Option #1: get two Sundown Saz-2000D or two Incriminator Audio 20.1 or two Kicker ZX2500.1, pick one for each sub. Option #2: get one Sundown Saz-4500D or one Incriminator Audio 40.1, pick one to power both your subs. Have fun if you do decide to go 2 BTL"s but you might want to try one first. What are your goals, the vehicle it will go in, the electrical system that will power this install and anything else that can help us make a better decision on what you should do? -
yeah but remember its not really the equipment, its more importantly the install. so good luck with the installs
-
x2, I would go with the 2-IA 187 15"s
