    which one?

lets go from hear, what car will this system be in? what other equipment (head unit, front stage speakers, elctrical to back up system)? what is the optimal space you have in your trunk to make a box, go measure it give us your max dimensions (h x w x d).

Your right, a lot of people don't know what they want, or they want something but it isn't what they need, that's where they need help. I understand and I got where your coming from, good point Duran.

    which one?

well what are your suggestions then, I was thinking about a one sub and amp setup but since thats what he wanted to choose from (I pointed him in the best direction whichever way he went) didnt mean hey go buy it. In my eyes alot of people dont know what they want or know what to do with it when they get something so if thats what he wants then go for it, who are we to tell him dont get it (I say go for it and have fun but I will at least make sure he has some good equipment that matched up well). he didnt list any goals or a car plus whatever other equipment he will be running.

    If im correct: Box= 41"W x 22.75"H x 22.25"D (outside dimensions) Port= 6"W x 21.25"H x 46"D (both ports added together- (2) 3"W x 21.25"H x 28"D) Port Area= 127.50 in^2 (Port Area Range= 63-84in^2) Sub Displacement= 0.26FT^3 5.28FT^3 @ 31.41 HZ

    why would you say that

    which one?

I would get two FI Q's (dual 1 ohms) and a Sundown SAZ-2000d(period) while they are one sale, better quality and way more power than the hifonics. If you want the FI SSD's then get a Sundown SAZ-1500D. just my .02

    need a better amp

did you ever give the sub break in time number one, and obviously you dont know how to set the gains if you get a smell from the sub and still keep playing it till something is wrong. Setting gains has nothing to do with you actually setting them, you have to buy a o-scope (Digital Oscilloscope) to set them properly because by ear or sight is not correct. Naw the head unit and basscube dont have anything to do with it, its the user whom controls the head unit and basscube that damages equipment so at the end of the day its you and how you control your equipment (dont take it personally just being brutally honest). Be more careful and do some research and just scroll throw all these threads and topics and just read (by a good month or two you should have a better understanding of things or added knowledge to what you already know).

or get someone who knows how to measure things to do it and post their numbers since it seems like your having trouble, but its honestly not that hard.

    better explaintory on box 18

measure everything i told you to measure and i will figure everything out for you, do as I stated in each step; look at my box in my avatar and use it as a picture and example for below (then take the example and reference it to your box). The top board with one sub on it (box outside dimensions): 1.Measure going from front to back of box (thats depth of box) 2.Measure going from left to right of box (thats width of box) The back board with two subs and port on it (box outside dimensions): 1.Measure going from top of box to bottom of box (thats height of box) The back board with subs and port on it (port dimensions): 1.Measure how wide of a gap(side to side) you have between the two pieces of wood for your port (width of port) 2.Measure how tall the port (top to bottom) is between those two pieces of wood (height of port) 3.Measure both pieces of wood that make the L-shape from the front to the back (length or depth of port)

Need help building a box for the lows

well check out the manual: http://support.alpine-usa.com/products/documents/OM_SWR-1542D.PDF It says to give each about 2.9Ft^3 of room, I"ll go with 3FT^3 each subwoofer after displacements. They say to port around 29Hz or 30Hz(the Fs is 23 Hz and the Frequency Response is 20-400 Hz). You should go with what you stated at first and if you like it then keep it or just make two boxes same size (one tuned at 34/35Hz region and the other at 29/30Hz region) and see which one impresses you the most. just my .02
  14. jcarter1885

how to tune a box 32 hrz?

just focus on making one topic for your same stories so we can better help you, im trying to answer your question in the other topic about boxes so go out and measure it correctly.

    ShiZZZoN's Build Log

It took my car about two or three days to finish curing, because it expanding and widen things more than I wanted to but after a few days it went to its normal state or position. It will be done foaming up to a harden piece by tonite but it should still be going through its expanding and slimming stage for a couple of days, just sharing my experience with it.

    better explaintory on box 18

Im sorry but this still is not making any sense, their is no way your port can be as high as the outside of your box. Measure the box from front to back using the top board piece (thats your depth), now measure the box from left to righ using the top board piece (thats the width), finally measure the box from top to bottom using (thats the height). For port: measure the inside of port from top to bottom (thats height, it should be 1.5" shorter than the outside box's height), now measure from the inside of port from right to left (thats the width, finally measure the insde from front of port to end of port including bending piece (thats the length or depth) That way we can better calculate for you, and side note the sub your using is .26ft^3 (dont worry about that just wrote it for me or anyone else determining your box's ending cubic feet).

    Loud System

yeah that box is too wide for his trunk but appreciate it

    Loud System

I think you should keep that amp for your car and just watch how you set the gains and how you control the volume knob. That way if and when you upgrade in the future or get older and can do what you want you will have a good quality amp, that will save you money in buying a new amp for your new setup.

    Loud System

jsut the sub or do they need box/amp? naw just the sub, he has an amp for it. is that box custom built for your trunk? If not what are the dimensions of the box? Price for Sub? Price for Sub and Box? Thankx

    Loud System

    4 BL 18's this time

thats what i was thinking would be perfect . but there is that waiting factor. I think it will be worth the wait unless you wanna get the SAZ-3500D instead which I think once you get everything in and tested you will probably still wanna get the SAZ-4500D when it comes out or just get 2-SAZ-2000D's if you wanna run two amps. but you will have alot of work ahead of you so waiting on that 4500D wont seem like too long
  23. jcarter1885

    Amp for 2 15" BL 1ohm?

x2, if you want an amp this month the Sundown SAZ-2000D will be on sale all month long.
