go by the rules (12-16in^2 per cubic foot of enclosure): 3.5 x 12 = 42in^2 3.5 x 14 = 49in^2 3.5 x 16 = 56in^2 Port Area Range = 42-56in^2 or port area

congrats, glad to see all that hard work would pay off and bless you with 2-1st place trophies.

just do use sound quality or sound good especially on this forum since thats what these products are meant to be. if your getting 4 18"s you will not get sound quality or whatever (your just gonna get loud ass an explosion), they will sound good if your install is excellent and you have reputable equipment. Most people are just trying to get you to understand regardless if you want : re subs, ssa subs, sundown subs, ia subs; they will all do what their supposed to do in an enclosure like you want play bass all day long. I think you should fix all the problems you have with your system first, then see how it sounds to determine if you want to upgrade or if your comfortable with what you have now.

Super easy to make that happen. Follow the noob posting guidelines that you agreed to when you signed. Super easy. The easiest way to get this nipped in the bud is to make noobs stay in a noob type forum with a moderator to help them with posting and topic starting, lets be realistic people who sign stuff dont read the things they need to agree to especially for entering a forum (no maybe buying a house, car or etc. is different). Some people read some topics and threads and cant get the info they want for their application or really dont know how to start the topic considering they read about something they dont understand. So describing something you dont understand can be confusing, misunderstood and lead to wrong information. People dont eat, sleep and breath car audio like you do or some people on this forum so remember that (your car audio lingo can be different from theirs). Even though they dont follow the rules or dont do it the way you want it doesnt mean talk to them like their below you, respect everybody cause everyone can sound tough and talk to someone crazy over the internet. I feel as though some people on here wanna help anyway they can and if you dont then ignore someone if you feel their not meeting your level of help or they didnt ask you the way you wanted to be ask. People break rules and laws all day long, so what makes you think people are going to follow some forum rules when they want some quick info; punish them with a suspension or something? I feel both of you guys, cause I dont care who you are (police or whatever, you not going to talk to me anyway unless I disrespected you first). But at the same time if someone wants something done a certain way then you have to follow their directions to get their attention or help (its easier ways to handle this than argue about it). Simple as that

x2 because thats the next H/U I want when I decide to get rid of the Kenwood X, someone on here already has it maybe he could give you and me a good review on it.

your best bet is to try it considering it can be either temporary or permenant solution since it is removable, go for the gusto and tell us how it came out. just my .02 I always thought that adding polyfill would decrease internal volume regardless if it was packed or loosely placed in their since it is taking up space but I guess you learn something new everyday.
-
Well they are brand new in the box never used. They have a few sets of the 1514's i think and one of the 2514. I just don't know if they sound good at all or what I should be paying for them. And are the little red and silver amps any good? I don't need them but if anyone else is interested in them I can look into them a little further. Those are brand new too. I did some research on the speakers and seen a guy on craiglist selling some brand new ones I believe for $75 since he got them for $100, so I guessing anywhere from $75 or below depending on your negotiation skills.

I definantly would like to see it back in action so I can purchase my third and last amp for this actual setup Im currently working on (either a SAX-50.4 or SAX-100.4, working with size issues now).

Just dont use the loudness feature period, when did you turn this feature on after you installed your SAZ-2000d to give it some more sound because you thought it was lacking or was it already on before? Im pretty sure if it was on before you hooked up the Sundown that it was the only cause because 400-600 watts on 4 ohms by itself without clipping shouldnt do a woofer that is capable of 2000-2500 rms like that. Just my .02
-
yeah mine was on and Im glad you reminded me to turn mine off, I noticed that something was sounding odd when playing my system ever since I hooked up my extra runs of ground from battery to chassis(the head unit reset itself when it turned back on). Well with that amount of power I dont think you messed anything up but who knows just have to play it and see how it sounds. Turn off Loud regardless, you dont want to mess up sub or amp? Whats the max volume on your head unit, what do you usually play the volume at when your going full tilt?
-
x2, I can agree with you when it comes to deck choices. I have the same one as you and want to upgrade to the new JVC with the blank screen when off and touch screen when on but I just dont want to get rid of this deck.
-
im not sure what happened but Im thinking that the loudness feature on your head unit should be turned off.

Glad you could join us.

audiopipe 3000
jcarter1885 replied to subw123's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I just did a lot of research and really couldnt find no hard facts to back it up but I think it is 1 ohm stable when running two channels(1500 x 2 @ 1ohms) but 2 ohms stable when running one channel (3000 x 1 @ 2ohms) because its supposedly two 1500.1's put together in one case. Yeah I'm pretty sure you're right. It is 2 1500.1s strapped so it should do 1 ohm on 2 channels but only 2ohms mono. I almost picked up one of the 1500s myself but spent a little more money on something else. Doing rated or near to it, they are great amps for the price. i have to run it at 1 ohm mono though bc i have two dual 1 ohm subs and wire them to .5 ohm each no your wrong, if you run the subs in parallel(it will give you .5 ohms each but the final ohm load will be .25) and if you run the subs in series(it will give you 2 ohms each but the final ohm load will be 1 ohms). your gonna need an amp that is 1 ohm stable on one channel and not two channels, that amp probably wont work for you (what subs do you have) considering you want to run it at 1 ohm mono. -
well I was wondering how that could be true until I did my research and found out the xj8 can hold a whopping 22.5 gallons of gas, thats incredible

now thats a beast
