  1. My main concern is if you even have the room in the trunk to fit an 18" subwoofer without choking the sub in too small of a box.

    H/O Alt or Not?

ok appreciate ya, 2 XS Power d3100 it is.
  3. I drive a 2003 Saturn Ion with a stock alternator 105Amps, I dont compete just daily driving and live in Dallas so my trips can be an hour or more(but not everytime I leave the house). Im planning on doing some electrical upgrades to the vehicle and just dont know how to go about it, so my SSA family help me out. I have a Sundown SAZ-200oD (200A), SAX-125.2 (60A) and a four channel in he future probably SAX100.4(90A), so I wanna plan these upgrades around all the three amps(around 350A, give or take a little) and not what I currently have. Question #1: Do I need an High Output alternator or not, if so I have found a 200Amp one for my car and I will get that? Question #2: If I get an 200A High Output Alternator, what batteries will I need to go with this setup (one stock plus two group 31's, one stock plus one group 31, or no stock and two group 31's)? Question #3: If I dont get a High Output Alternator, what batteries will I need to go with this setup (one stock plus two group 31's, no stock and two group 31's)? Before I made this post I was just gonna get rid of the stock battery since it is located in the trunk sharing the same area as the spare tire and getting just two group 31 batteries. So thanks guys for any input and pros/cons for going with a High Output Alternator if you recommend one or if you don't recomend one.
  4. Check you power and ground wires to see whats stopping the amp from receiving power.

    2- SSD 18's in 6.6cu.ft. before displacement???

Nobody is really going to give you some good input on what to do since its not realistic, tell your friend to keep 1-18" and port it and call it a day, that 1-18" will sound way better and louder than stuffing two in there. Regardless of how many questions you ask no one is going to be like yeah thats gonna work cuz its not. I would sell an 18" and keep one, you know its good enough so why even try and waste the subs with that little potential or airspace (sometimes you gotta just realize your friend is wrong and wake him up to understand that wont nobody be like wow if they see 2-18"s in a small box that sucks, everybody will be like cool pumps but shitty system).

    H/O Alt or Not?

Lets do it this way, sorry for all this just want to get it right. How many AHs for each example? Example 1: 125.2 ran at 2 ohms, 100.4 ran at 2 ohms per channel unbridged Example 2: 125.2 ran at 2 ohms, 100.4 ran at 4 ohms per channel unbridged/bridged Thanks man

    2- SSD 18's in 6.6cu.ft. before displacement???

It will work just wont sound as good or be as loud, that really would be a waste of 2-18''s(tell your friend to be smart and not choke the subs and give them the room they need). Why not get 2-15'' SSD's or 1-18" Q or Bl sub? You beat me to it

New System DP 12's or 15's

What kind of vehicle will this go in, usually more cone area wins when it comes to which size; the only problem will be how much room you have. You dont want to put your subs in too small of a box and choke them, so go measure the area you will put the box in and if you have enough for 2-15"s go for it, 2-18''s go for it but if just enough for 2-12''s then those will be your best bet. Just my .02

    got the REX12 in yesterday

Excellent song choice (just playing I know its in your old lady's car so its probably one of her cd's), whats that in front of the RE sub you might want to move it because it looks kinda close to the subs surround. Do you like the box facing that way the best, try it facing up and backwards and see whats sounds the best. But good job, it feels good to have your gf bumping too?

    H/O Alt or Not?

Actually I will probably be running them at 2ohms so what would this change, how much of an Ah rating now plus a 200Amp alternator?

    amp blown, fuse now??

which amp is messing up the one on the distribution block or the one thats on its on battery?
  13. jcarter1885

    amp blown, fuse now??

It has nothing to do with the voltage your putting out the rca's, you have a power problem somewhere within your setup. Personally I think your amp will need more fusing than what you are using.

    H/O Alt or Not?

Thanks everybody for your input, H/O alternator will be purchased soon. I will be getting a 200A alternator. Quick question shizzzon, just wondering how do you calculate how much amp hours are needed for a system for my knowledge. 200 Amp Alternator + 2 XS Power D3100(117AH each) or 2 Shuriken SK-BT120(120AH each) = Good Enough.

    H/O Alt or Not?

I understand all that and appreciate the info just looking for some more direct answers (which I know is hard to get a correct answer without throwing batteries in and monitoring voltage but I just want a general idea of battery sizes and how many plus h/o alternator or battery sizes and how many minus h/o alterator)

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35

Measure the area of what all panels or pieces in the interior that you want to protect and go from there (that expanding foam can be messy and ruin panels).
  17. Buying two small batteries wont help you if you plan on playing your vehicle with the car off, you need to pick some batteries with some good AH(amp hours) and a good RC(Reserve Capacity) on it so they will keep up for how long you plan on playing it. Read into batteries and what they do and you will understand.

Sundown SAX100.4 VS Arc Audio KS 300.4

Ive never had a Arc Audio amp and have heard good things about them, but I have two Sundown amps and couldnt ask for any more better equipment, power and sound detail it added to my systems from my previous amps. just my .02

    Slot or areo ports

x2, then everyone would be using aero ports so they could use that extra room for more box volume.

    optima yellow top g31

He's talking about the g31 series of optima batteries(they dont have these at autozone). Type in Optima Battery G31 in your internets search bar and look for who sells them. www.1st-optima-batteries.com But there are a lot of other group 31 batteries out there that are cheaper and better than the optima(only has 75 amps and hour), check out Deka 9a31(100 amps an hour).

    Chrysler 300 setup

Nice car and yeah you Riding High, install is looking nice on the amps picture but the wiring could be better but nobody would see it anyway. Show us some videos of the system in action, why did you change the setup from your previous one in you signature?

    Question on BTLs

For starters answer some general questions, whats the electrical upgrades you plan on doing, how much room do you have in your trunk and what other equipment will be in this install? I dont think two 15"s would fit in a Lincoln LS but I could be wrong, 2-12"s may suit your better. Thats not a good choice of amps, grab you a Sundown SAZ-3500 or SAZ-4500D or Incriminator Audio IA40.1.

IXL 12" Sub... Need help picking an enclosure!

Yeah as much as I used to go to Autozone I never seen it before until the other and I was loving the price, do you know any other places to find at a better price (just curious).
