Best Processor Out
jcarter1885 replied to Megavanman's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
the processor im lookin at has a line driver i was just wondering would a processor benefit me for spl usage So you are stating you are willing to pay as much as you can for the best processor just to get a line driver to increase your pre-out voltage? You should just solve this solution simply, use all that money to buy the best processor and buy a new head-unit first (sell your old one) and then if its still a problem (which it wont be) then go add a processor if you still feel your missing something in your set-up. -
So you said that you want to fuse the positive and negative wire, why?

Thanks Sir!If I run them common chamber do you think I can get away with running them in about 4.5f3^ or so? Yes since that is the same as 1.5Ft^3 each, just make sure that 4.5Ft^3 is after displacements (subs, port and bracing if any). How can 1.5 x 4 be the same as 4.5? or am I missing something? I damn sure didnt even read that you wanted 4 ported my bad, you could run them in that size enclosure and use more power to get them going but you will be close to choking them. Three in that size box will do better than 4 would since that box size is whats recommended.
-
The lead time will alwasy be the same, you will get your subs within a 2-week time period from the day you order at the most. One of the Rockford Fosgate 1500-1 will be good enough or any 2000Rms am will do. If you want to use that much power on those subs I dont think you will need Q's, you might be more of a BL man since output is your concern.

I will be purchasing 200A Alternator for my 2003 Saturn Ion for $422, so I dont think they will be less than that unless you want lesser quality. Rebuilding an alternator is not always a good thing neither unless they revamp it from head to toe (every single feature and not just some of them), a upgraded beefier factory alternator is not always the best option.

What amp should I get.
jcarter1885 replied to HI LIFE's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would go with the Sundown SAZ-2000D but if its not in your price range then the Audioque AQ2200D will also perform well for your needs. jsut my .02 -
$300 for a 250A alternator, I hope its reliable (just sounds kinda cheap to put out that much power).
-
C'mon give us more info than that if you want some help. What are you gain settings, did you use a DMM to set the gain, do you have bass boost on-I hope not, whats your sub sonic filter set at, What size box and tuning? Do you have the loud button or bass boost on your head-unit? This is what we need to know if you want accurate answers.

Please right in complete sentences and try to make some sense so other people can gain knowledge from your post (dont just right jibberish).

Do you think a 3 way active is "not worth it" ? A 2 way active will be a lot cheaper (about -400 for mid range and amp compared to a 3 way active) A 3-way setup is worth it if you want to put the time, money and your patience into it so it will sound awesome ( an active setup just takes alot more tuning and adjustment to get right but worth it in the long run no matter if you do 2/3-way setup). What car do you have, just make sure you have somewhere to mount those puppies (SAX-100.4) since they are some big amplifiers, even the SAX-50.4's will do.

3 10" subwoofer build, which subs
jcarter1885 replied to antonmiller's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I personally dont think 3-10"s would shock people, what really shocks people is high scores put up by small equipment and not that much power or small equipment and alot of power. Whats shocking is someone doing over 150 with 2-10's like Thorshammer on this forum does and now since that is done, I cant wait to see someone start getting high db read outs from some 8" subwoofers (that should be what one wants to gear themselves toward if they just want to shock people). just my .02 -
What amp does 1500 rms at 1.5 ohms?
jcarter1885 replied to wafsman's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Glad you could join us, did you read the noob posting guidelines. Considering nobody rates their amps at that ohm load it will be hard to know it an amp does 1500wrms @ 1.5ohms unless you get one bench tested. I would say off the top of my head a Sundown SAZ-2000D(out of your budget but way passed worth it), Audioque AQ2200d, almost any amp that is rated at 2000rms @ 1ohm or better may fit your needs. -
x2, get a DMM(digital multi-meter and set the gains to what rms you want to throw at the sub). Sundown SAZ-3000d FTW!
-
Those could work well. What mounting locations? What processing? And IMO a 3 way passive that wasn't designed IN CAR isn't worth doing. If you want 3 way in your car you NEED to do it actively. Yeah I was thinking either 2 way passive or 3 way active. by "processing" do you mean an external EQ or something? All I had in plan were the SAX amps & my excelon kdc x790 headunit should I get some type of epicenter or whatever they're called? And those mid range speakers are rated 150w (idk if thats rms or peak??) and are 8 ohms...how am I going to get 150w @ 8 ohms and the midbass drivers are rated 85w rms @ 8 ohms :\ What type of setup would you recommend for these? Do I need external processing? would it be better to get something that can adjust all the crossovers, then use that and get amps that don't have functions like the SAX 100.4 does? You must of not read what was posted earlier, 6 and 8 ohms speakers are very efficient (you dont have to give them their full potential to do what 4 ohm speakers can). I have 2 Eminence Alpha-6A's 100rms/8ohms/93.6 on each channel of my SAX-125.2 and they get supid loud (@ 4 ohms load their only seeing 125 wrms or so/ give or take some). I will be keeping my amp and upping the speakers to B&C 120rms/99db/8ohms and still will be louder than people with 4 ohm speakers and powering them with all the rms they will take. Just like subwoofers, speakers dont need all their rms to sound good or perform at a level that is enjoyable (my 3-12"s only see 700 rms out of the 2100 they could take, all my speakers are underpowered).
-
Please let me know if you do since Im looking for some new ones, getting ready to sell the Eminence's and get some B&C speakers for the new upgrade.

I dont even think that people use their common sense or seach features anymore, they just come on here and post (not realizing if they do some work on their own they could find the same answer we are giving them).

jcarter1885 replied to HI LIFE's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
First of all you mean an amp that puts out 2000 wrms @ 1 ohm, did you read the noob posting guidelines. No Hifonics in my opinion, the Sundown SAZ-2000D is the best choice out of them all but its not in that price range for a reason (better quality, more power and still efficient when voltage falls some). Sundown SAZ-2000D FTW -
How did you set your gains, or is 500 watts what your amp puts out and you just turned it up guessing that is how much power the sub is getting?
-
C'mon man we cant see the pictures.

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/ Look under the subwoofers tab and purchase one from here or you can email Jacob and get one, it doesnt matter.

I called a shop about them making me a box for 2-12" Kicker CVX's and we couldnt even get to a price for the box since we were arguing about how much room they need. I told him I wanted a ported enclosure around 4-4.3ft^3 @ 28-32Hz (still undecided). He said well me personally I like 50Hz for tuning, but I was like well Im down with that so that was strike 1. Strike 2 came when he was telling me I should throw each sub in 1 ft^3 of space and Im telling him Kicker recommends 1.75-2.25ft^3 but he is steady trying to explain why his 1ft^3 enclosure per sub would be better so I just ended that call, he didnt even make it to strike 3.

Little Man is a fighter, glad to hear all is well Chop. I remember when I was in middle school I had a sking condition where I would break out and it would puss up badly also (the doctors and dermatologists till this day dont know what it was). Luckily I got it once but it lasted a month, they think it was from a plant or something because I was on a nature trail in one of Texas's State Parks in Cedar Hill the day before I noticed it. Yeah its something that is crazy and scary when you have something wrong with you or affecting your help and the people out there to help you dont even know where to begin. Glad your grandson is on his way home, take it easy and stay strong. (Dont forget to post some picks of your new sub man dont think we forgot)

Glad you could joing us Aaron.

I havent heard them in person myself and there is someone on this forum who has one (The Storms), when I was considering them I asked him about them even though he didnt give me a good review on them just some jibberish. No problem man, Im glad to help cause you never know when Im gonna need some.
