mids will be mounted in the doors in custom pods. I have no idea about the tweeters... what is that column called thats between the door and the front window shield? would it be wise to mount tweeters on that, facing toward the window? I have no idea what I'm looking for in tweeters, just recommend me something that'll be very loud and clear, and will not fatigue my ears over long periods listening at high volumes. You know I like punk pop rock Thats called an A-pillar. What is your budget? Have you went to madisound.com or parts-express.com and even looked for some so we can give you feedback? What type of tweeter dome designs do you like?

You have thread jacked the OP topic, next time open your own topic and ask general speaker questions or do some type of search before asking basic questions. Seas are more quality and cost a little more, they are mid-bass speakers compared to Eminence which are more mid-range speakers. I could go on, just go look them up and do some research first.

Its cool, your just doing your job .

Now your just reading this whole topic wrong, the OP(Burbarry) was talking about Selenium Super Tweeters and there 6.5" Midrange; and this is who I was talking to. The person talking about Seas is socialstealth, who was threadjacking for his on info then went and made a topic on it.

You definantly read my post wrong I was comparing the Eminence to the Seleniums that the OP was talking about.

What are you settings on your headunit at, and what are your settings of your amp at (how did you set the gain, also)?
-
Im leaning towards the middle one also, especially with the amount of power being used.

they say they play up to 3k hz, what do you suggest crossing them over at? what should i look to cross a pair of tweeters at? (2 way system) http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1600 SEAS Prestige CA22RNX (H1288) 8" Coated Paper Cone Just because a manufacturer rates a frequency range up to 3000Hz doesnt mean a speaker can take it. My eminence are rated at 5,500Hz and when it was crossed up tp 5,000Hz on my Sundown Sax-125.5 you could start to hear it crackle a little bit like I was pushing to much power around its frequency cutoff point.

Very nice box, man (rather impressive) -
so the Xcon will take 3000 Watts RMS? No. x2, when dude said that an Xcon can take almost double the power or a BL he was referring to both of them stock with a normal user and standard ratings. BL is 1000Rms and Xcon 1750Rms, almost double the power and yes the BL's can handle more power (but thats not the argument).

Well at least you have an alternate subwoofer to put it, yeah it looks bad but hey it can be fixed.

better battery?
jcarter1885 replied to superman_69's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If your trying to stay the same size I would go Deka Intimidator, they are cheaper or around the sameprice but better in performance. -
your doing a good job of making everyone not want to help you at all. people on the forum kid around and if you cant take it then stop posting. your just making it worse by arguing with everyone. if you've been into car audio for 20 years how do you have no idea that under powering a sub is perfectly fine? Asking if it was ok to underpower the sub wasn't the question douchebag!! Way to twist my words around. Some subs don't come alive until a certain power point and that is what I wanted to know. I have heard decent things about the Fi Q and was wondering what the deal was with them. To tell you the truth, I heard their customer service is horrible, and now to see their forum members are a bunch of class d rocking douchebags....I think I will go with the incriminator audio Flatlynes. I have heard none of Fi subs can even compare and the price difference is minimal. Buddy please stop displaying your emotions on the screen, this is not a PMS Forum for monthly feminine poblems.

What amp does 1500 rms at 1.5 ohms?
jcarter1885 replied to wafsman's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Go Sundwon SAZ-1500d or 2000D for headroom, FTW! -
any reccomendation for 18in subwoofers
jcarter1885 replied to subw123's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
How bout we get some goals or something, this is a useless topic. I can list a thousand 18" subwoofers but what would it do besides take up posts. -
Keep it up

Because it is typically in between your sub-sonic and LP filter. If you are using an oscilloscope you are best off setting your gains with all the filters off. It is also dangerous to set the gains at "the lowest frequency" for your system. The subs excursion will be at its maximum here and perhaps it won't actually take the power you are giving it if you are using a 0dB tone. 50-60Hz is much safer for that reason. In particular if you have a ported enclosure you need to be well above the port tuning as well so that the box doesn't unload and destroy the driver. If you set gains by your ear, which IMO is the only real way to do it, then it is also dumb to use a low frequency tone as your hearing is not as good at lower Hz. Of course, the reason I set by ear is to blend together with my front stage. I am not into getting output out of my sub as IMO that is not at all why I have them, but instead I use the sub to fill in where my midbass falls off. If you are into max output then an oscilloscope is truly the way to go. Thats what I was trying to say, it just didnt come out that way

Stop trying to hype up your antique amp, and throw some real power at that Q or just power it with what you have. There is no problem with underpowering a sub, 1 watt will get it going to over 1000 watts will make it fail, so anywhere in that range and your cool.

If you want some Selenium 6.5" woofers you minus well get my Eminence Alpha's (they are louder and sound better, from personal experience). Both speakers are mid-ranges and not mid-bass speakers. You know you have a mid-bass speaker when its Fs: is below 70Hz and Frequency Response is low; plus the speaker will almost look like a mini-sub with a nice surround.
