What is it tuned to now, since you have heard two of your friend setups, one with Xcon and one with Nightshade (which do you prefer, reviews on both if you dont mind since those may be my future subs). I also see you went from multiple 12"s to a 15" now, what can you say about that (all I ever had were 12"s and a couple of 10''s before but 9 out of my 10 subs were 12"s and havent went any bigger). Thanks for any input.

I havent bought an amp from him but I was going to send one of my amps in when I thought it was damaged, he told me how he does and he shows on his website how he takes out all old pieces and repair them with new ones (even some pieces that dont need to be repaired). He takes his time and does it right instead of shortcuts like most companies will and he shows how he fixes what they did wrong and what they should of done. A+++++ work in my eyes.

I cant wait for a build log with lots of pictures or videos, FTW! What else will be going in the car besides the Xcon?

Ridiculous is all I can see, I love Monte Carlos and this one is banging (how did your old setup in your signature do).

$105 plus shipping, still have all three.

That walking a straight line as well as those other DUI test are for the birds, sober or not its not easy to do them (plus im clumsy any way).

Thank you, I know and people are acting like Im selling them for to much (some just dont know Im breaking my pocket but oh well). CVX's for a $110/each is a steal in my eyes.

I used them in the right size enclosure just didnt have enough port size (port area = 26in^2) but the box was 5.79 ft^3 @ 25.94 Hz, and they pounded like crazy (fucking excellent lows and great output at that volume). My friend has some CVR's in a smaller box than mine tuned at 30Hz with 3-CVR's and they pound like crazy, before I left from school he threw my CVX's in his box and put the CVR's to shame (way more output and lows). Anything else just ask me.

Ok so if I go with a SSA XCON 15 D2 how is the customer support? Does SSA stand behind the sub? I was just reading about it in the SSA Store and wholy shit 1750rms and 31mm of excursion!!! Wow thats impressive. What do you guys think about a Ported to 35hz or Sealed enclosure.... I love how tight sealed is but im not sure about how this sub handles it, and for "SQL" I bet Sealed will sound nicer. Im pretty sure they do considering they have a 24/7 forum for support, help and any other technical services that are needed to their customers and non-customers.

Looking to buy a 1500watt AMP Need Opinions

Nightshades FTW, havent heard about that issue. -
To me smoking is like a girlfriend sometimes it feels good to do it or be around it but when ya'll are not together no more, the more you keep your mind off of her the less you think about her (out of sight, out of mind) or until you get stressed out again.

Sundown SAE-1200D v.1 specs and current draw??
jcarter1885 replied to 8adk1d's topic in Sundown Audio
just the most amps it will ever pull from my alternator from either 3 of the ohms.@ 1 ohm I'd be running a Mach 5 IXL 12" so no not full 1200 but might in the future if i get a better sub such as an Xcon or a Fi Q fully loaded but yea i just want to know how much amps it will take in real life numbers from the alt at full tilt at all ohms eg: 1ohm = 80 amps MAX pull from the alt cranked up 2ohm = 60 amps MAX 4ohms = 45 amps MAX just want to make sure my alt will be fine for some years and also if I'm ready to get 2 batteries or 1 really good one Nobody really can give you those numbers, go buy a voltmeter and make sure you upgrade the Big 3, if your still having voltage issues than a secondary battery is needed (best way to tell, since it will be real life). -
Sundown where you have never seen it before...
jcarter1885 replied to Jshak07's topic in Sundown Audio
Mad about what, deciding to find better places for my sticker than in the shitter where no Sundown Audio equipment will ever be. -
I think people have a misunderstanding of SQ (loud will never be part of SQ, not saying they cant but thats not the way you describe SQ). I dont know what SQ means but I know what loud means and that will give you the least SQ results.
-
I would go new, unless its not in your budget. Just my.02
-
Basically they are like cars, very few upgrades but usually for the better.
-
Well now that you give us your music preferences the FI Q may be for you, the BL yes will be louder than the Q and it wont sound like something dying (if something sounds like that then it is an issue with the install not the subwoofer).

Even though you already know what you were talking about, I must admit taking Garlic Salt (now use Garlic Powder) out of my preparing meat equation has resulted in better tasting food. I definantly do appreciate the insight, thought I would share that with ya. Cooking channel on 28" in the kitchen while cooking, FTW! whenever something isn't how you want, post a question here in the hop I am sure I'll answer. I am more passionate about cooking than audio... No problem man, please believe I will talk you up on your offer (Im the same way with my passion about cooking, the only problem is I better at car audio then cooking cause of the lazy factor (sometimes I just already want the food to be prepared).

What are your goals?

An 18 wont be amazing louder than a 15 if you dont have the right enclosure for an 18", the most that will fit into your trunk comfortably will be a 15" sub so go that route and leave an 18" alone. A Bl will not be geared towards SQ, I would try a FI Q but from this post it seems like your not going for SQ but loud, so go with the FI BL. There is no such thing as underpowering, the only problem with having a amp with less power than a subwoofers rms is the fact that most people try to turn it up more than what it can do and start clipping the amp. Since you plan on upgrading the car why dont you wait to upgrade you equipment but if not then yeah do the Big 3 and throw a secondary battery in there so you wont waste any money on a bigger alternator since your not keeping the car (the battery can go to your next car when you upgrade but an alternator cant).

Looking for a new setup
jcarter1885 replied to Eric Steagall's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would take a guess and say ported and tuned to high for his liking. -
Man I was starring at that picture for like two minutes like what is he talking about but nice license plate (I bet he had that made like that but it would be hilarious if thats the random letters they picked for him).
