Started on an amp board that will turn my 60/40 fold seats into one long folding seat, once I get all screws in I will put pads over screws so it wont scratch the bottom of my amps when I have done this in the past. Should be finished by end of weekend, depends on if I find a drill or not.

If I get dual 1 ohm can I hook up one amp to one terminal and the other one to the other terminal? thanks! Yeah since the rockfords are 1 ohm stable stable then you need to get the dual 2 ohm subwoofer so you can wire it in parallel to 1 ohm.

Box Build: 3.5 cubes @ 30 hz Pair of Sundown SA's

Looking good man, keep up the good work. -
First off please stop listening to your friend, he doest know what he is talking about. Usually one strong sub installed and powered right can blow multiple sub setups out the water. Its not about fitting the most speakers in your car, its about fitting a speaker or speakers in the enclosure they deserve which will yield great output in the long run.

I would get a 15" BTL with a Sundown SAZ-2000D or a used SAZ-3000D and have a field day with it. Or you could go with 2-12" Xcons and a used SAZ-3000D or SAZ-3500D. Just my .02

If it is in your budget then get it, they are good budget amps and will get the job done, what is your budget that you want to spend on sub(s) and amp?

Working on a budget, have two amp choices
jcarter1885 replied to ArrizX's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The main question is what is your budget for an amplifier? -
Anything that does rated power at the ohm load you need and is good quality, I would say from 2000-3000rms at the most.
-
So you want to put these in your car for to help out with the 15"s you already got in there? That makes no sense, it will be smarter to build a better box for your 15"s, what amp do you have for your subs now?

x2 and what will you be using it to power? -
I wouldnt do it but have fun with them since you have them. I have never heard of that brand before.

Dual 2 ohm subwoofer wired in parallel for a 1 ohm load: Get a voltmeter to watch your voltage, a HO Alternator and nice size 100AH battery and you will be good to go. Also make sure you do your Big Three Wiring. I would try to go sub up and port back since you will be getting an SUV since those usually work out the best unless you want to do some testing to find out what design would be better.

What size sub did you get and what size enclosure did you put it in. Glad to hear it worked out for you.

Yeah my dad had a Big Green Egg when I was in high school and love that cooker.

Great like what, they are subwoofers and will do what you tell them to do. Worry about your enclosure and install not the equipment.

Head unit and power wire q's
jcarter1885 replied to Don Ganso's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Head Unit: Bass Boost/Exend = Off Loud/Loundness = Off Sub Level: + whatever yours goes up to minus a few whatever your preference Bass = 0 or lower, whatever your preference Amp Settings: Gain = Set with DMM (with a 50Hz test tone and at subs rms or amps rms whichever is lower), no more than 50-60% if you dont have one. LPF = 100Hz or lower whatever your preference Bass Boost = Off SSF = 1-5 Hz lower than box tuning, or until subs start to reach its excursion level. Yeah a 60A fuse will be fine -
To send them from your camera, just email the pictures to yourself and download them to your computer. After the pictures are on your computer then you can upload them to a gallery on here or to a photo uploading website like photobuck and then attach them on here using the image tag in the posting toolbar.

Power Acoustik BAMF 5500 guts
jcarter1885 replied to SynCity's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I wonder how much power that amp puts out, you should bench test it or somebody. -
Keep the pictures coming man, I like to look at different boxes and setups. I bet some people I met who have systems always think Im gonna still it since I always ask them to let me see their setup. I guess Im more curious as to how it is hooked up more than what they are using. I love looking at other peoples install and seeing how messy they are and dont understand how they keep it that way but I guess it goes down to just wanting a system instead of feeling like a car audio addict that feels like I need a system.

Punch bass
jcarter1885 replied to RaTtLz's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I agree. Most people blame the equipment if they dont fully understand how to control their use of the equipment, there are a lot of people in the car audio industry who dont understand a speaker will do what you tell it to do. Dont get me wrong, my friend uses bass boost and has for the past three years also and didnt want to turn it off. Yes it does make your bass louder and hit harder but does that mean it is good for the speaker (it depends on the application, setup and user). I think people need to learn more about what they put in there car and if you touch this knob or setting what it affects instead of touching it and see what happens overtime. Yeah I finally got my friend to turn the bass boost off and he is still in love with his setup and acutally likes it better know since the bass is more cleaner. -
Good looking, I just sent him a pm.
