What HO Alternator to get?
jcarter1885 replied to b34tBoX's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'm going to get a DC Power alt but do they make 300amp alts, Or do they make a custom one if you ask? It depends on the vehicle and since nobody here works for them you we couldnt tell you, just contact them and ask them personally. -

Get what you can afford, they will do rated power and some at 14.4volts so you cant go wrong. Just buy an amp and get it over with, its gonna be hard to get true 3000rms amp for less than $500 unless you come across a deal. -
Glad to hear and make sure you start a build log cause we love pictures. Pictures =

Is the alternator a stock alt? If so just look you your model/make and year and it should tell you somewhere on the internet.

Z v.2 -- ETA January SA-8 -- ETA February SA-10 / 15 -- ETA March-April NS v.2 -- ETA May-June The only new amplifier on schedule right now is the SAZ-4500D... first run sold out, second run perhaps March. It would be sooner but we have 3 weeks of delays from upcoming Chinese New Year + CES. Thats good to hear, the Nightshade v.2 wont be dropped until this upcoming summer which leaves me time to get my build finish and save some money to swap the Z-15 for the Nightshade v.2 and see which fits me better.

Amp not working right
jcarter1885 replied to ridn.strappd's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
x3, get another belt (that problem needs to be fixed asap); then do the BIG 3 wiring with 1/0AWG wiring, buy you a voltmeter and install it. If your still having problems then look at replacing alternator and getting a secondary battery for your system. -
Glad you could join us Any amp will be enough for any sub as long as you dont clip it by trying to send out more power than the amp can handle, there is no such thing as underpowering. If that is what you have now then use it till you can afford to get an amp that will suit the sub better.

What sized fuse do you have? How is your grounding (check to see if its in a good spot with sand painted off). I was gonna say to much current going through the wire but you have 1/0 awg on it. -
i figured it out saz 3500 and two xcons thanks for your advice see you in the lane lol See me in what lane?

Stop worrying about how much rms a sub can take, means something but not really. Your jumping all over the place like I said in your other topic, list your goals of what you want to accomplish with your system (not windshield flex either).

Amp not working right
jcarter1885 replied to ridn.strappd's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If you say your amp has a red and green light and the red light has alwasy been on, you didnt have the sense to know that red is bad. How long has this been going on for? No capacitor has nothing to do with it. Well get a volt meter number one, if your having problems with your electrical or alternator then stop playing your system immediately and take care of it so you wont be broken down on the road somewhere just cause you wanted to bump). -
Its not about spending the most money and putting into your system to be like others, think about what your trying to accomplish. Are you willing to put in a lot of work or just want a loud system to have fun with, do you want to compete or for daily driving. I think the Icons and SAZ-2000D will be perfect for you man, just by your posts. Hell yeah you gotta be, there is no point in sugar coating anything in life; that wasnt even me being blunt that was just stating facts thats all (me being blunt is worse).

What are you trying to figure out with this question because it is useless right now. Are you thinking of 1 BL vs. 1 BTL or 2 BLs versus 1 BTL? What amp?
-
u aint lying man for 10 years i only knew of stuff like mtx, fosgate,jl audio my brother got 2 jlaudio 13.5 and 2 1000/1 and box, wires.ect he spent 13000 dollars dont ask me how they really got him each amp ran him 1250 and each sub 950 Its no point in asking we all know your brother got robbed and was not smart enough to go anywere else or search around to see if that was his best bet. He got 2 subs, 2 amps, wiring, box and labor for $13,000 is a crime and I wouldnt of paid that shit (even if I wasnt knowledgeable in car audio, regardless how much money I have unless I have a killer system breaking world records).
-
Power, a BTL is BL on steroids basically.
-
Naw if the gains were set right and the volume knob is used wisely, also know how to listen, smell and see signs of stress in your subwoofer; plus there is no problem with having head room. Why are you asking this if you already have 2 on 2 BTL's?
-
First off what is the max dimensions you have trunk wise and remember to leave some room for air flow around the box, amps and battery placement also. What electrical updates have you made so far to the car, if any?

We cant recommend you everything because at the end of the day it is your system and you have to look at it everyday so your input is more valueable. Some decisions you have to make on your own, instead go make a list of the top three headunits you want and flip a coin if you cant narrow them down any further. Its your money so spend it on what you want as long as it does the job. -

Yeah it does matter what your powering so someone can give you an accurate answer instead of just throwing out guesses, regardless if your overpowering or not. If you would of read the new member guidelines then you would of known that from jump street, it helps give out better information instead waisting posts with the questions that will be asked to get the information in the long run. -

This question makes no sense at all, what do you mean works with your system? Any headunit you get will work with your system. Go out and research and find headunits that are withing your budget and have all the features you want then puchase it(simple as that). -
I dont understand how you cant figure it out by FI's definition: "Simply put, if you plan on listening to any type of music you MUST choose the daily option. If it is strictly for a fart/burp scenario then choose the SPL option. The reason we have these options is the gap tolerances between the two are different. The gap in the SPL woofer is much tighter and FAR less forgiving in comparison to the Daily option. The Daily option simply gives the coil more wiggle room inside of the gap to deal with the non-linearity tendancys that you can get into when you are using a sub in a daily driving scenario. Typically SPL applications deal with 1 note and it does not change, therefore we can make the gap much tighter and get all of the motor strength that we can out of it."
