Frying alternator...overload or not
jcarter1885 replied to Hanapi's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Your system is putting out no where near that wattage, it only puts out the wattage the amps can produce. The real question is why do you have so many batteries? -
x2, I was just about to say the same thing (Im suprised nobody noticed he said he is in a Grand Am). Dude you dont have enough room for a the proper box for an 18" subwoofer, for airflow around box and room for amps/batteries. There is no way you can get an 18" in there unless you want to look cool and say I have an 18" but dont mind it sounding shitty at all (go with performance over looks but to each its own). Just my .02

Glad to here .

we already told you how to make your box, go to www.kicker.com and find the specs of the box and build it between those recommended volumes at the tuning frequency you desire and its that simple.
-
Yeah I can agree GM cars are easy, Nissans and Hondas make you want to kick whoever's ass put them together. I can pull my radio out within 10 seconds in my Saturn.

I dont think that battery will do on that system at all, I would suggest you doing the Mazda right and getting all you need for the big build in the future and start on making that happen. But to each its own, instead of wasteing your money on stuff that will be upgraded soon you minus well just buy everything slowly but surely. Then you can start on putting the build log together slowly instead of half-assing it till you do it how you want in the future.

How to run comps and coax?
jcarter1885 replied to JusR's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Since channels 1&2 are ran individually from channels 3&4 then you can throw the components on 3&4 and coaxials on 1&2 or vice versa. Each set of channels has a gain that controls the power it puts out just adjust the one for the coaxials lower than the components. -
That would be smart so you can have a daily box and comp box all in one instead of one over the other; thats what alot of people are doing nowadays.
-
I never heard or dealt with them but dont think I would either, just my .02. I would say if you have to money lying around to spend then get them to test and give us a review on them.

Actually there is one 2200watt amp and one that has 2200 in the model number, yours in the model number and not how much watts it has so if you would of said it correctly from go then all this would have been avoided. Make sure you read new member guidelines before posting again so you can understand how to give us all available information so we could help you better. That amp you have actualy will put out less than the 950 rms rated, so that should give you an idea of what power your working with.

Help me win a school contest! And its a cool video anyhow!
jcarter1885 replied to mklett33's topic in Off Topic
Never got into paintball but it seems like a cost-effective way to help out the targeted consumers in that industry. I wish this method could be applied to car audio where it seems like prices just keep going up. -
Im lost, what do you mean you want a sub that sounds clean. Have you tried a different box? Your box is too damn big, the biggest it should be is 3.25ft^3. Try a smaller box at the tuning, just my .02.

Basically what he is saying that there will be no 6.5" speaker that should be in a box tuned that low. Either rethink drivers or rethink your goals.

Creating a New Box (Help Appreciated)
jcarter1885 replied to amartin99999's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Makes no sense at all, the speaker will take its rms rating but that will also depend on box size. To eliminate distortion set your gains right so you wont send clipped signals and make sure you have no bass boost on. -
What is the actual model number of the amp, showing us a picture of amps does not help us determine what amp you have.

SSA driver photo contest vote

I like #1, should be on: banners, stickers and t-shirts in my opinion. -
Is this amp blown?
jcarter1885 replied to ShaneSauce's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
What kinda car, I noticed that my car came with horrible grounds from the beginning. The battery to frame and engine block to frame were painted and not sanded off, once I upgraded those wires and got the paint removed my eninge noise went away completely. -
Just got a new amp
jcarter1885 replied to flipzslick's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
It will power speakers just well, the only way to tell is to hook it up and see. What will you be using with this, thats the million dollar quesiton? -
Its not about the equipment, its about the enclosure and install. If you build your box for a strong low end then that is what you will get from its, subs will sound good as long as there in the enclosure that they recommend.

What was the purpose of the weather stripping on the top before you added the top baffle?

Nice looking build log, how do you calculate for the 45's (just curious) or do you just build your box and throw them in there while leaving some space for them when making calcutations? Thanks
-
Somebody you owed money to tied you up and put you in there and if you escaped you were free and if you didnt then hey, sucks to be you.

Got the GF working now thats what Im talking about, the day I find a chick who will help or is into car audio a little bit or just wants some bump in her ride then I know I made a match in heaven.
