Frying alternator...overload or not
jcarter1885 replied to Hanapi's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Ok so are you saying that you just ordered these two new alternators and brand new batteries (the Batcap 4000, what happened to the Kinetiks HC3800)? Im a little lost, what all do you currenlty have in the car for electrical upgrades as of right now? What did you order and will have in the car within the next week(s) for electrical upgrades? -
Amp not working right

What do you mean by this? -
So you want to follow Alpine's specs and build one big box but have seperate chambers for them basically so you stick with there exact dimensions? If were on the same page then your right, you can do it with no problem at all. You can fire the ports through the rear deck if you want to put that time and energy into building a box like that then you can. I dont know if it will be clearer but it would probably add more pressure into the cabin than doing the regular rear or forward firing ports, since I havent tried this before. But leaving the holes open is a good idea also, that helped with the pressure getting into the cabin in my old build and have not had speakers in the rear deck in awhile. So that is up to you, if your not competing and not worried about tenths of a db then i wouldnt go through the extra work. Just my .02

Frying alternator...overload or not

If I had two BTL's installed I would have mine bumping right now with a working alternator unlike you. I just dont buy equipment because it can fit without the knowledge of knowing how it works and how to keep it working for more than a month. I see you fixed it but you still said, poing blank ( yeah Im the moron, thanks for pointing that out to me). A moron would let something fail and instead of contacting them ask people who dont even sell the product. A smart person would of contacted the company first and if you wanted some extra advice then asked a fourm also. Basically we all tried to help you by understanding what you were running first and how your running it so we can narrow the problem down, but it seems like you wanted someone to know right away what was wrong from what you were saying. No that is not going to happen anywwhere, that is why the word troubleshooting exist. You can do all the name calling and emotional outburst you want and it wont bother me pal (grow up and take your skirt off). -

Haha this is hilarious, we have no intelligence at all but you think your system puts out 10,400 or 28,800 watts. Thanks for the laugh of the year, that took the cake for the funniest shit I have heard all year long. Well good luck buddy and have fun, I doubt anybody is going to email you either. Im sorry that we ask questions to understand what could be the problem instead of jumping to conclusions like other people would and make assumptions. If you were smart you would contact the company that made the amp and talk to them about it since it failed so early. -
New amp
jcarter1885 replied to Don Ganso's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Basically... IF I had the money now, which is the better amp? By better I mean more reliable/powerful. I know that the 1200d can do 1450 according to the audioque site, but I have seen anything for the sundown other than "1000 at 1 ohm" Go search under the Sundown Thread and look for amp power testing or something along those lines, it will show you want the amps are capable of doing. Most will say Sundown as I would too for reliable and especially power since their ratings are at 12volts while other companies are at 14volts. Just my .02, but the one that would be the better amp is the one that fits your budget and does rated power period. -
Chop you must be bling buddy if you cant see the screws man.

X2 x3, yeah I agree cause this build log sucks without any pictures.

Cant wait to see the pics for this, I never understood why people with fast ass cars want radar detectors. Everybody knows you bought the car to go fast every now and then and if you have the money to buy it then you have the money to spend on speeding tickets. Just my .02, I wouldnt have a radar detector in any car I owned (if I get caught thats my fault should of been more observant, thats my slogan in life). What all stereo upgrades is he doing, or is just switching from stock head unit to after market head unit?

What are you talking about famous rapper lines (learn how to make complete sentences that make sense before you try to start something on the internet buddy). Those are not my words a rappers words or anything (so this so called rapper that I dont listen to made up these lines, no I dont think so). Use some common sense before typing again, but its true cause Im giving you help and advice and here go your emotions kicking in again (hilarious dude, keep sitting down while peeing okay). Grow up and learn how to take advice and criticism if you want to get anywhere in life, thats my advice for you buddy. -

Battery Help
jcarter1885 replied to wof131s's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Then your asking a basic question, get what is in your budget and size requirments. The Kinetik will be much higher so if you have them money to spend then go Kinetik and if you dont then go Deka cant be any harder than that. -
Battery Help
jcarter1885 replied to wof131s's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Obivously you didnt if you didnt find a battery, stop getting emotional (thats a females trait). Well if you feel that way then maybe you are doing something wrong and not following the guidelines that are asked to be followed bt members to get the information they need. You cant come in here with a basic question and get mad when nobody wants to help you, eventually you will get your posting privileges removed if you keep up these horrible topics that contain no information (so Im trying to help you before a moderator gets on you). To show you what I mean, look how many people visited this topic but didnt respond, everybody who came here. You can say you looked around because then you would of seen what batteries compare to the the battery that your looking at by comparing there specifictations (that simple, how hard could it be to compare numbers on two different products).- 11 replies

Battery Help
jcarter1885 replied to wof131s's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Go do some research, you see nobody is helping you because you can find this out on your own. Go to each companys website and compare AH (amp hours), batttery size and weight and choose which one has more AH, the size and weight you prefer. Its not that hard buddy and we wont do everything for you. -
Usually with smaller boxes you need more power than what is recommened by the company. Trust me go with the 15" and throw it in 5ft^3 and you will get more output from it (like I said performance is better than trying to be cool with an 18" but it depends on the user and what they want: performance or coolnees among peers and others).

Just got a new amp
jcarter1885 replied to flipzslick's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Dont worry about the birth sheet at all, thats clipping power. The most that amp is said to put out is 1200w at 1 ohm @ 14.4 volts so unless you can maintain a voltage of 14.4volts then you wont even see those 1200 watts. Just kinda curious why you would ask us a question after you made the purchase (makes no sense)? -
