The Big 3 would be smart if you dont want dimming or steady voltage. You need to buy a voltmeter also and see if you volts are dropping if so then throw a small battery in the back.

If you fiberglass it you may be able to get some more room out of the space you have available.

Help with chosing a system, been a while since ive been into systems

No problem man that is what we are here for. Usually you fuse the wire so if you hook the batteries up using a 1/0 awg wire then you will be ok with a 300A fuse. Are you going for BTL's or BL's about a 1000 watt difference or more between the subs. -
If you havent bought the subs yet then I suggest you just getting a couple of 15"s and put each one in its own box, unless you can find away for more room. Yeah your best bet is two subs, you dont want to cramp the subs in small boxes then they wont sound too good; it will just be for looks than performance.

New Setup, Starting from Zero. Tips Welcomed!

Well get ready to spend some money on some good components, also make sure that you get deadener for the doors. Yeah you can cross your subs from 80Hz on down and the components from80/100Hz on up. Just my .02 -
Usually they say sub up and port back but if this is a which one is louder then you will have to do some testing. Just my .02

That would be a great idea as I have some available for him. Are those speakers in the rear deck that I see, it looks like two different little speaker combos next to each other between the factory speakers?

What an upgrade man, glad to see the final design . How is it treating you?

crunch ground pounder 3000 pro vs ap3000d vs AQX-3500.1

I mean compared to all the other amps out there, yeah the ones you listed are cheap pieces of shit but they will get the job done (many have use them with great results). But considering you price range those are what you have to deal with and you cant go wrong with Audiopipe or Audioque in my opinion. -
You gradiated? pending 3 exams Congrats man and enjoy the real world.

Looks real good, makes me wish I kept my CVX's -
Well since you said up to 500 rms, going with a smaller box it will handle that power better but it was just a suggestion since I didnt feel like going out there searching every company and looking at all subwoofer enclosure recommendations (that is your job to do). Then come back with a list and we can help you narrow it done.

When you hook up another battery you usually do bat 1(+) ---fuse----------------------------------------------------fuse--- bat 2(+) For the negative you can either go to first battery but since it is in the front in most cases you can find somewhere in the trunk to ground it. When it comes to a box it is up to you to if you want it carpeted or not, thats a personal preference. If you need some help in designing then go outside when you get a chance and measure the max dimensions you have available (height x width x depth). Also remember to make some room for your battery, amps and airflow when taking these measurements into account. -
I guess it depends on how it was applied. Was it stapled on? Or was it glued on, by say like 3M 77 super adhesive? If its the latter, Id say its going to be a bitch. It will most likely leave a layer on the enclosure so you might have to sand it off. That is exactly what happened to my box when I took the carpet off, it left some of the carpet on there. So it took alot scrapped and sanding to get it off, so it will be a tough task to accomplish and will take several days if not more (depending how much time and effort you put into it).

Basically when it comes to an alternator look around at different companies who make them, check under the Amplifiers/Electrical and HeadUnits section and look at previous posts about this to see what are good companies (try to find a nice size one or get the biggest one available, 200A or better). The Big Three is upgrading these wires to 1/0 AWG wire: 1. Battery Negative to cars frame 2. Alternator Bolt (negative) or Engine Block to cars frame 3. Alternator Positive to Battery Positive -
If it is a prefab box then dont do it period. Either find someone on here to build you or help you design one so you can build it yourself, any box built correctly to the subs reccommendations will do well. If you need help with designs, start by giving the max dimensions you have that you want the enclosure to take up (height x width x depth).

Welcome and glad you could join us , as long as the install and enclosure is right then the setup will slam and sound good regardless the equipment usually. Dont get a capacitor, you will need to get a good sized secondary battery, an HO Alternator and do the Big 3 for starters. If you want two BL's then either amp that does 2000 watts or 3000watts at 1 ohm will do fine, just make sure you order your subs to D1 ohm so they can be wired down to a final 1 ohm load. -
Pictures would help of the ground that was soldered on to see if it is a problem or not.
-
I would say take a look at Sundown amps since they do rated power and then some, the best thing besides the performance and customer service is you get rated power at 12 volts unlike most amps where you get it at 14volts (if you can keep that steady the whole time while bumping then you will see rated power).

By the way welcome and glad you could join us . Ok well it sounds like you have alot planned out and going down a good route unlike others on this forums who just started posting here. What is VDO if you dont mind me asking?

Yeah you got me BigC by one funky minute. I was gonna ask him about the size area in the hatch but he says he had enough room for two 12"s and believed him. Hopefully he is one of those individuals who actually measured his trunk instead of looking in there and guessing.

Read up on AGM batteries and tell us if you think they are spill proof, I guarantee within your first few seconds of doing some type of reading up on any company's site that sells them you will have an answer (you just gotta to do a little work on your own, not hard at all). You could even google it and Im sure someone has asked this question before on the internet, search and reading is your friend and not your enemy.
