Well fuck it if you think speakers with more power will help then go for what you know, kinda pointless to ask for help and not use it wisely. These guys know what they are talking about, if they say you need deadening then get it because eventually your gonna need it anyway. But good luck *Oh yeah the power levels of a speaker dont determine jack shit, so buying speakers with more power does not guarantee to you will be louder at all.

line driver?
jcarter1885 replied to aimone's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
First take the cap out of your car or whoever has one. Like stated above it is not his head unit that makes it louder, just set your amp's gain setting to match your pre-out voltage (which will give you the same results as stated above). The car makes the sound seem different in two different vehicles with the same equipment, plus his stock electrical is probably better then yours which will provide more power. So a line driver wont do it, read all these post above carefully and you will understand no line driver. -
what are some trusted on-line electronics dealers you have used person

actually if i go with rockford am going to go threw ssa store. saw you had the cheapest price. thanks. but would like the kicker l 7 speakers. they are slammin around the hoods. Actually any speakers can slam around the hood, so I hope that is not the reason why your buying them. -

Well it depends on the headunit, some just buy an external crossover if they dont plan on spending the big bucks for a headunit that can do the active process (which are only a few). Im just gonna use my amps and call it a day since Im not getting in SQ comps or anything, I am gonna buy a better headunit but not one that will control a three way by it self just dont see me spending more thatn 300 for a headunit.
-
You can use your amps (like stated in my going active thread) but you wont get the fine tuning or best front stage with just the amps. You will be missing out on time alignment and other features that a good head unit will give you but it can be done with just amps.
-
Im gonna say subs/port up or subs/port forward firing but if you are looking for the best option that will require some testing unless someone with a Dodge Ram has done testing and could chime in for you.

Glad you could join us buddy

Thanks man for the feedback and I insured it for my safety and any mishaps that could happen from here to there so I couldnt charge you for something your not in control of (plus it was worth the $2 I paid). , enjoy them like I did (any more questions just ask).

Im scared for the Envoy, glad to see they got their fine.

I would plan the system out smarter than that so you wont be waisting money in the long run. Such as buy one sub now at D1 version so when you buy the other one you will already have the right voice coil's on them. Now if you want the Nightshades v2, then I would just start saving up for an amp to each or one single amp however you plan on doing it so you can get the amps out the way while waiting on the subwoofers. This will also allow you to get you car ready for the install such as wiring, electrical and such.

Yeah I completely understand you on that one, everybody wants to bump for cheap instead of pay the big bucks to do it right (im having that issue right now with a friend of mine).
-
well congrats and family safety over bump anyday

What a beauty and a beast it is gonna be for some systems out there.

What size speake wire for 2 BLs and 2600w Amp
jcarter1885 replied to aherzing's topic in Fi Technical
Mr ***** ***** himself. I didn't know his name was a curse word... cover your ears kids! lol Save money and get 10 or 12. You can pick up jumper cables at Menards and Fleet Farm, (don't know what stores are near you put that's what I got), for plenty cheap and use them for speaker wire; they usually have straight copper in them. Yeah I stole this idea from this guy and they work out well plus all copper strands baby, FTW! Saved me money also, when it comes to speaker wire it wont be that much of a difference in what you use (nothing noticeable). -
Give him a chance to come back on here and answer buddy, no need for all these posts (it wont help him respond any quicker). Thanks

The same as any other trunk system with the seats up, not as loud but when the seats are down it will be louder.
