I need help picking out a demo vehicle
jcarter1885 replied to Quentin Jarrell's topic in Test 1, 2, 3...
Im the smaller setup individual who likes for it to get loud, that is more impressive to me. To me it is a lose lose situation if you have 16 subs and break 160 because it should break it and then if you dont then why didnt you? So that is how I look at it, but everyone has there own opinions. To me the most impressive setups I seen is the dude on here who break 150's with two tens and now Jacob with the 8" doing over 150db's, now that is impressive. -
Wall builders in Kansas city mo area
jcarter1885 replied to Julian's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Especially if you keep your friends in check and they respect you that wont happen at all. Clean up when something spills and you wont have that problem and that is what floor mats are for to keep the floor even cleaner (you can always buy new mats if they get dirty but not a whole layer of carpet for your floor). -
This should be moved to Off Topic since this is to the learning environment.

Wall builders in Kansas city mo area

By the looks of it I doubt it, some people just dont care about there cars or houses (if one is dirty 9 times out of 10 the other one is). -
suggestion on component speakers
jcarter1885 replied to viper167's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If you just want recommendations then go through all the same topics as this one and read through every single one of them. This is getting very redundant when people dont even want to search for there answer when it is there in front of them. SEARCH, please (there are about 30 topics on this within these last few months). -
Wow, I cant believe its getting worse and worse.

Any mainstream company has horrible customer service (some get back to you right away and then some give you the run around). You also have some that will take forever to get them replace (a year or better), so that is why most are stepping away from these guys and using non mainstream brands with customer service. I never dealt with them but giving you a heads up of what you might be in for. -
finally starting to piece together my system
jcarter1885 replied to 02xblazer's topic in General Audio
The 50.4 is on sale for 150 something at db-r.com so go get on it ASAP or get something of lesser quality and crossover flexibility but it is your money and your choice -
bass boost
jcarter1885 replied to Rozon420's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If you use it 9 times out of 10 you will damage something considering you dont understand how it works and when to back off plus it ruins the sound. Dont use if you want your equipment to last. -
or type in all caps in your posts either.

Your best bet is to build a small box and get a meter and find out for yourself playing tones. -
Affordable 2000w amp?
jcarter1885 replied to Dutchie.'s topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The amp came out this year so Im pretty sure it has the new heat sink on it. -
How did you like the sound of them in that enclosure, the goods and bads?
-
That I start working where I want to instead of just settling for a job I hate going to on a daily basis and getting this install closer to finishing while trying to decide what I want for a future substage with the possibility of another SAZ-2000D but it all depends.

From Jacobs mouth himself "4-5 cubes is what most folks use on the 18s, tune to your taste between 30 and 40 hz. "

We need more information, come on man who can pick an amp out if we dont even know what voice coils you have . Budget would help also? Read new member guidelines before posting again, Thankx. ok. sorry there the 4 ohm dvc my budget is 100-250 $ Thanxs. Your gonna need an amp that is around 800-1000rms(give or take some) in the 1 ohm load range. so would the hifonics bxi1210d do good oh and i have a soundstream bx10 Yeah the amp would do good. The soundstream has nothing to do with picking an amp.

will fmod 30hertz as subsonic flter work?
jcarter1885 replied to xmx2188's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Any sub sonic filter that has a frequency from 25Hz to 30hz will work fine. -
There is no exact way to tell where it is set, just play a good bass song with some good excursion and watch your subs at the highest volume you jam to. If your sub looks like it is reaching its mechanical limit then turn it up some. Yeah if you upgrade to like the SAZ-3000 or SAZ-3500D then you will notice a difference, just hope your sub can handle it (did you get it fully loaded)?

New Setup, Starting from Zero. Tips Welcomed!
jcarter1885 replied to slim142's topic in Fi Technical
Either turn your gain up a little more for some more bass or invest in some better sub(s). But if you insist on trying to use bass boost then go ahead at your discretion and hope you wont damage your subs which will have you out buying new ones. -
OHHH NO! bummer dude.

amp suggestions for fi ssd 12"
jcarter1885 replied to mustangsub's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
What voice coil option would he us too? 2ohm basic coil So you got the dual 2 ohm verison, so you need an amp that will do around 800rms or so at 1 ohm?
