    Burning smell

There are alot of factors that play a role in this such as: box size, amps settings, head unit settings, some songs have more bass than others, the recording of the music. Just because your system is performing fine on one song, you should still keep your ears, eyes and nose open and available to sense stress on the woofer and simply turn it down. Since he wasnt paying attention to it one song could of triggered it and it just got worse from there plus the amount of time. Its not that your gains arent set right but other factors may play a role and all you have to do is simply turn the knob down. I wouldnt be riding around (car example) with my volume at or around 75% all the time or for long periods of time anyway. Just my .02

    15" Xcon amp qustion

x2. Yeah it doesnt matter which side you will use, they are there to make dropping the ohm load done by the amp itself in case you had two subs you could just wire them individual to each speaker terminal and let the amp drop the load.

    Welcome to the IHoP

He and a lot of members are this way and get mad because when they ask a question nobody gives them a direct bs answer to run off with. We want to get down to the nitty gritty to make sure you know what your doing, the skills you have to pull it off, the equipment to get it done and so on. He doesnt do any research at all, the other day he made a thread about gel vs agm without doing any searching at all. Some people ask questions and just want us to answer them while they sit back and do no work to actually help them out.

    Enclosure for door speakers?

Im learning speakers and been running active for months now and just got a little bit of info down now to where I understand it better. Still dont now 90% of the things out there, try going to these websites and just start soaking up information. He is not saying we arent willing to teach you or share our experience with you but it would take all day and a year. What you need to do is try to get an understanding of it for yourself then when you get the concepts done and do a little practice or apply it in the real world then come with the questions. That way it wont sound like spanish, then they can get to helping you on what you need instead of trying to explain the basics to you which would be a while before yall get to the real material. **We want you to ask questions but we also want you do to some work, searching, researching, testing, researching and experimenting some more then come with the questions and examples. http://bcae1.com/xovrslop.htm http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1746548&postcount=2 It would take more work to pull those JL's off successfully then to go active and get some speakers that were more so designed to do certain type of enclosures for. But if you keep them I would just do what everyone else said to do, the Infinite Baffle (deaden your doors and seal the front wave off from the back wave).
  6. Wow and it was something simple too

An old school mod, not sure how that happened though. If you look at all his posts, there are rated with a plus one so it looks like he went through ranking himself or somebody else did (but I dont see why they would do that in one day). Those rankings add and delete from your supportive score when someone clicks on a + or -. Wow! Where have I been? I didn't even know that's what the + - were for! I found that out the other day when someone pointed it out to me, I was like ohhhhhh
  8. Original Poster. Haha, that is how I feel about IIRC (do not know what it is till this day).

    Pogo's Sorento Install Pics

Good work, do you have. How is your volatage with that Batcap 2000?

    AQX 3500.1

This doesnt help out period, he needs to know if his radio's input is more than the amp will allow will it be an issue.
  20. x2 Huh? The Kenwood is bad. He didnt understand or read the whole topic to know that were talking about kenwood amps from the star (that the OP had) when you were given that 80% efficiency rule for the formula.

    Basshead-ACHES

Did you pay for it (cause I wouldnt of paid for it) or whooped his ass for the system (thats what i want to know)? But good job on getting your stuff back. nah, never reported it, can't stand the smell of bacon(pigs), and really don't need the drama in my life w/ my past history, feel me.... I do feel you on that, I hate calling the laws even if I need them. But yeah I was just joking with ya man, I knew you handled it like an adult or you would of posted the story if it was one to it.

    Burning smell

Dont show your equipment up for more than what it can do or you wont have it to entertain them with again or yourself.
  23. if you really dont want to help give me a suggestion then why even bother replying to me man i get what you are saying %100. maybe you did ask ask question that has been asked and asked over and over, that doesn't require some one to reply to you being a prick.... there is not a rule that says these guys has to reply to every post made. i have read all 80something pages and i didn't reply to %95 of them. if i read something i dont agree with or think is dumd guess what...... i didn't reply! so if you are reading this and dont like it go to the next thread . dont waste your time typing and my time reading!!!! i have heard you say a couple of times what you are looking for and to me it is as simple of a question you can get...... you are looking for suggestions for some good speakers..... like TREO engineering, infinity, mb quart, focal ect, ect, without breaking the bank.. best bang for your buck. Thank you for your lack of input, now lets look at this on a common sense level. If you would of made this topic right from the go (following directions like your supposed to) then we would of avoided this problem. You should of came in here directing this toward your install like (how your gonna install them, the budget, the listening qualities you like and so on) then this would of been answered and given a lot of attention. But if Im not mistaken in his first post all he said was can I get some recommendations? If you just want recommendations then the FASTEST and SMARTEST way to get that would be to go and search the old topics just like this and look at all the speakers listed. You guys are getting emotional and crying when I gave some excellent advice (just because it wasnt what you wanted to hear or how you wanted to hear doesnt mean it is my fault), take your skirts off and brush it off there just words (dont even understand how you got offended). If I was new to a forum I would search all the threads and see what was useful to me especially if I just wanted a recommendation. But if I wanted to get questions answered directly for my install with the information needed for people to help me then I would of made a topic, which the OP did not do from go. **If you dont like how someone responds to your topic dont get upset about it (thats in the rules too, obviously you didnt read them). Dont get mad at people for not liking the fact you didnt post right, that is what the rules are for (grow up and follow the rules and it wont be any problems or misunderstanding). OP you started this by making a horrible thread with the lack of information or even an attempt at searching for information on your own). Plain and simple, now if you want specific help then let that be known but if you want recommendations then do some work on your own called searching and then if you have questions that is what we are here for.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Off to do some volunteer work for the holidays, yall be good without me.
  25. He was saying that if Hifonics is bad for there amps being 80%, then why when you gave that example of 80% for other amps; why arent they in the same category as being bad like the Hifonics?
