What programming do you usually watch on TV?
jcarter1885 replied to CadillacMatt's topic in Off Topic
I voted, usually I dont watch tv it is watching me. Im either on the computer or doing something to where it is just background noise, lately I havent had it on since its wasting electricity to do so. -
check this out : what are some trusted on-line electronics dealers you have used person
-
Kinda curious as to why you wouldnt run them in a 2-way setup.
-
I like them both. They both work very well for me. Kinda curious as to why you have both sets in the car. Is one playing more of a midbass for you and the other one midrange? If you were doing an install and had to pick one over the other which one regardless of price (looking to use them for midbass crossed from 60/80hz up to 1500 hz or higher). Thanks

Hifonics ?
jcarter1885 replied to Technology's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Why is this in the FI section and not under the amplifiers section? I wouldnt buy one of there amps. -
yeah I read all the reviews on both speakers under there respected company sites and on zaphaudio.com. I wanted some personal experiences or input on somebody who has dealt with both of them and see if there are any pros/cons between the two thats all. I do research before I post!

Just kinda curious to see if anybody has ever heard or dealt with both the Mach 5 Audio MLI-65 and the AA Carbon Fiber 7" midbass speakers, if so any reviews input would be appreciated.

I also need to go back and read that topic I made concerning the ID's because I remember you telling me some good points then also.
-
Ill admit that this is probably my problem and yeah Im tending to lean away from lots of speakers in the car and deafening loud music. I dont really have any people in this area that I know of with nice sounding front stages to be honest. Then again I see some build logs where guys commend the install and they have lots of speakers and win comps such as Big Daves truck and he won comps (which I know is judged by judges with preferences). After a while it gets confusing, on one hand some guys only have 4 speakers in there interior and others have more. So that is why I was kinda wanting to see alot of individuals front stage as well.

Im gonna take your advice on it and make a topic in the RTMS.
-
Done? What is this done word you speak of. I don't think that is even achievable? Haha your right, every month on this forum I change all my ideas (just glad I finally got the substage out the way for awhile). I just contacted Bryan and thinking about a pair of AA mids from him, a pair of ID Horns from Image Dynamics and calling it a day. I have my tweeters where you have yours they are just not on an axis so that will be another thing to do until I get my horns. Thanks for the input.
-
Yeah Im back to the drawing board now, all the interior speakers are getting redone and going back to my original idea of ID Horns in the front, now it is time to search for a good midbass speaker. It is time to do it right and leave it alone. Thanks guys for your input and OP for making the topic to open my eyes.

Ok I was about to say you should be louder than that, just my .02 with that high of a tuning. Yeah electrical upgrades will help you out greatly in increasing your score and output.

So where are they located then. Yeah Im thinking of redoing some things in the car and more than likey Im going to try this method of facing them to opposite listeners ears. Its to cold right now, maybe Ill experiment with it next week.

Your tweeters are on axis facing what direction?
-
I gotta question for you ///M5 or anybody else who wants to chime in. Im kinda curious as to what alot of you guys with just front door speakers in your front stage. I want to make a post asking people what equipment (amps, speakers and processing), the axis you have them at and any pictures or feedback your willing to share on your equipment itself or install. Would this topic be a good idea, I looked through a lot of build logs and kinda just want to make this short and sweet about Front Stages only. Where you think I should put it? Feedback on this topic would be appreciated?

x2, budget would help out greatly.

best way to wire the back batteries and amps
jcarter1885 replied to Lucky 76's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I forgot who the dude was but he has an install with one of those Hifonics top of the line amps and he did a buss bar just for the power and ground wires I think you should do something like that. I would just run a couple of wires from the main battery to the one of the backup batteries, then run them in parallel and everything off of one battery. But your way does sound feasible to me, maybe others will chime in with better ideas. -
Blues Production Sub's. . . . . . . Remember
jcarter1885 replied to HiFonicsHorder1's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Thanks man and good luck with taking your skirt and doing a blow through (just teasing), but yeah man it is a slow process and havent installed any equipment in yet worth talking about buy stay tuned. -
We know that, we are trying to determine power output in relation to his subs not which box has a deeper response.
-
What is the current box size, tuning? What electrical upgrades have you done besides the big 3? Any pictures of the system? Do you have a volt meter to watch your voltage if so where does it sit?
-
3 or 4 of these on a SAZ-2000D would be sweet

I didnt say what you were telling me is , I was saying if that was his reasoning for deducting points then that is and I would of been heated. I believe that, that is like JL going to a competition and getting blowed out of the water. It usually isnt about the equipment but the install so its doable to me. -
To get these answers your best bet would be to email Mark at the email address that is why I gave it to you. If that information was available to the public it would have been shared by now I believe.

SAZ 1500d settings
jcarter1885 replied to millertime's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Low Pass anywhere from 60/80/100 hz depending on what you like and if you have midbass and where they are set at. Play around with the phase to see what you like but some leave it alone. Be sure to set your gain with a DMM, not the best or accurate way unless you can tell signs of stress on a woofer.
