Reconfiguring specs on my BTL enclosure

Glad you posted this because after reading that topic on end correction I was in the dark also, I just started learning how to do these the paper and pencil method (this will help me out a lot). -
You sure you have it wired like this: Check you headunit settings also. What does your electrical consist of?

4ohm stable mono block amp with subsonic filter

Yes that amp will work, yes you can wire your D2 subwoofer to a 1 ohm final load. -
New Setup, Starting from Zero. Tips Welcomed!
jcarter1885 replied to slim142's topic in Fi Technical
Search on the internet for it, look in your manual or go buy the handbook for your car from AutoZone, Pep Boys, etc. -
x2, and if you feel the need to go against the norm then ask Fi why you shouldnt do it before you do it.

Not a problem at all man, I was in the same boat as you two weeks ago going off of AH ratings and thinking I need 2 or 3 batteries. But that is how car audio is full of misinformation that we run off with thinking is true, Im guilty of this myself.

Here is a pictorial for you man, these are the two wiring options you have for you subwoofer: or -
That is not even a comparison, for those goals then go for the BL's.

You dont buy batteries by Ah rating. Read through this article: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/XS-Power-Batteries-application-t35357.html To the OP I didnt purchase the battery yet but I will in the future, Nathan would be able to help you find out what battery will fit and support your application.

It depends on which would be louder but it all will come down to enclosure and install, these two subs were made for different goals in mind.
-
Contact Nathan@XSPower or ask to the moderators to transfer this topic to the XS Power section so he can find it easier.

Im pretty sure yes the would since you have a major cone advantage there, more motor force and so on.

x2, the same thing I was thinking but I love the look
-
x2, no words but that.

Thank you, this actually makes sense to me. I don't think the 18 will squeeze the budget quite as hard, I just wish I could listen to two 15's or one 18 and see what i like better. Listening to either setup shouldnt help your decision because you can find a setup where one 18" will kill 2-15"s and vice versa (its all in the install). Just do like ///M5 stated earlier or make a compromise, that is what it comes down to.

To me keep it and use it on your door speakers and sell the Infinity once you get a better amp for your subwoofers, you have a classic amp in your hands.
-
If you want to customize your subwoofer then go with the Q but if you dont feel like then go with the Havoc.

headunit keeps telling me to check cd core???
jcarter1885 replied to groundpoundmonte's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Never heard of it, call pioneer and get ahold of there tech team the best way to get this issue resolved. -
Please make a thread with a budget in mind so we can help you pick an amp that meets your goals so these topics dont clutter up the board. To answer your question no this amp does not do rated power.

Subwoofers can not be compared at all, they are made for different goals in mind so this is a useless thread. Read new member topic guidelines (comaprison threads are useless). The AQ can get loud and the CVX will do better on the lows, so it is a compromise which one you will want to go with (you cant have both, car audio is full of compromises). Next time make a topic on helping you pick a sub that fits your: goals, sound preference, budget, enclosure size availability and so on. Those subs could be put on a 3000watt amp if gains are set right and volume control is use wisely but would I do it no. If you get the AQ 2200D with the CVX's set your gains right with a DMM and you will be fine, just because an amp puts out 2200 watts doesnt mean it is doing it on a constant basis since music is dynamic (there is no problem with having head room). Head room will help some individuals keep from clipping there amp since some want to turn it up as loud as it can go.
