Glad you finally got your system together and running.

Yeah, I figured that would be the answer I'd get. lol At any rate, I was looking in the Sundown section at the Z15 closeouts, if theres any left that seems like something I'd be interested in. Looks like he only has D2's left so I'd have to get a larger amp and run 2 ohm or strap 2 amps... But I suppose the money I'd save over another brand would even out. If you get a d2 you can run it at 1 or 4 ohms: Subwoofer Wiring Diagrams, One 2 ohm Dual Voice Coil (DVC) Speaker

Gotta be patient, they will get to you when they can. Im pretty sure they dedicate only so much time to forums and emails vs. actually building subwoofers and getting orders taken care of. I doubt you can recone a Q to a BL since a recone does not affect the motor and what not.

Rethinking my amp choices
jcarter1885 replied to briznack's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Your sub could be ran at 1 ohms or 4 ohms, so you could of got any amp that does 1000watts at 1 ohms but with that JL amp make sure you wire your sub to 4 ohms only. -
For batteries check out this topic, may be a better route then getting a optima yellowtop and a secondary battery: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/I-Have-XXXXXXX-watt-sytem-t35690.html

shuriken batteries

x2, they should work well (I only know of a couple people using them as starting batteries). -
First of all welcome and glad you could join us First were gonna need to know some more information such as amplifiers you will be running, budget for subs, electrical upgrades to the car if any? What vehicle or how much space do you have? The power levels you can throw at your subs depend on listening levels, the size of the enclosure, just for music or burps and etc. There is no such thing as underpowering a sub, a sub doesnt need double or triple its rms to show its output. Any sub in its recommended enclosure with rms power will sound good and get loud to its capabilities. Sure they could probably take more than rms but it all depends on a lot of factors, hence stated above. Talk to IA and ask them what there limits are and under what conditions dont let a You Tube video mes up your equipment, somebody with that amount of power has there system set around the amount of power there sending there subs.

It is the other way around, the D4's are low (almost or are sold out) the D2's still remain.
-
but i thought when the impedance is higher, the amp has more control over the cone... resulting in more accurate reproduction?... How do you figure?
-
No there not, amps made overseas.

A pair of B&C neo 12" mids and a pair of Selenium st350 super tweeters. How are those Selenium ST350 super tweeters, Im thinking of running some ID Horns with some 8" mids and those keep showing up in builds? Are they extra sharp and piercing?

400 watts to use on ssa goodness
jcarter1885 replied to Tosh Henderson's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
It also depends on the subs being used and setups because not always will 2-12"s be louder than 1-15" but most of the time yeah it should with the same amount of power being used in both setups. -
Depends on a lot of factors: box size, the options you choose, your listening levels. Anywhere from 1000-2000rms but too many factors to tell with the lack of information you gave us.

x2, or use a reducer on your 1/0 gauge wire to 4 gauge wire to make it fit. Kole Audio is not an ok brand.

You are on the internet. Look it up dude. I can tell you from experience that they are all 750rms though. x2, search is your best friend before asking questions on this forum you will be amazed how much info is on the internet.
