Young Jeezy - I Got This, Dont Worry (on repeat right now)
-
good luck man , dont be scared to ask questions we will help you and guide you along with making a good enclosure. I went around looking at different build logs to just get a feel for what I will be dealing with or how to set things up and so forth.

^^^x2, either way will be sufficient (if battery is close to amp then I would just mount it to battery). Just my .02

Considering they are waiting on magnets then yeah you will have to wait like everybody else, dont look on ups everyday or worry about just live your life and it will arrive soon (the more you think about it the longer it will take). If you want updates on your particular order the best bet is to email FI about your situation with order information instead of making topics the same as everybody else.

Four 15 Xcon's, backseat of a grand am o.o
jcarter1885 replied to silenkiller's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
If you get both subs in D2 ohms then you can wire each sub to a one ohm load and use both amps, that is if your gonna go the 2 sub route. Just a heads up -
Depends on what your goals are and what you want to run, that will determine what you should do. Ported is usually louder than sealed, ported boxes can sound just as good as sealed boxes always but whichever fits your goals will perform well.

head units

No I dont feel ya, everything you basically stated is about cosmetics mainly. Your best bet is to look on sonicelectronix.com, woofersetc.com or onlinecarstereo.com (a few shops and shop for ones you like and will fit your performance needs) then go from there. The way you descrived what you want and how you want it to look will come down to you since you and only you know what you like, just do some research and see which one fits you and your budget. -
Fail, I dont see why this would be a fail. There are other high wattage amplifiers with one power/ground input, does it mean it helps more I dont think so. Pretty much I think it is upgraded technology that is all, one day someone decided to put more power/ground inputs to help out with current and power getting to the amp faster since it takes big loads. Just my .02

Sounds like you have a plan, what I would do first since you say sealed never gets loud enough for you. I would install the first two sealed and see how they sound and if you want more instead of spending money on subs then buy some more wood and make a ported enclosure for the first two and see if that is enough, which I think it should be. I use mine fine, I have been on the fence with selling it (I even made a thread about it and then deleted it). To me it is a great little toy when used correctly and can make your system sound like shit when used wrong. -
head units
jcarter1885 replied to aimone's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
When it comes to headunits make sure you get one that fits all the features you need, that is what it is really going to come down to. Your going from a Pioneer with all the gadgets to mediocre Clarion units so what are you looking for in a head unit? If you want a head unit to go active with then those wont cut it. -

Bigger wire will fit, just get a 1/0 awg to 4 gauge reducer if you wanted to put 1/0 awg in the amp. -
Second Battery Questions
jcarter1885 replied to Frostedflakejake's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Well you can talk to a lot of guys on here as they have been doing it for years with no problem, not sure on the theory your stating above but I do understand the father thing. You could also call Kinetik, XS Power or other battery companies and ask them to explain it better to you to see if it is a real danger. I would just buy a battery charger to relieve all worries so you can charge the secondary battery every now and then to take some work off your alternator. Just my .02 but I personally dont think it will be a problem but when you find out share with me so I will know for the future. -
i get a cold feeling... I want to laugh I get a sharp pain in the navel area, and wants to laugh but a painful laugh.

You need to make sure that you do leave airspace for your amps so they can breathe and wont overheat if mounting the amps in the trunk.

New Setup, Starting from Zero. Tips Welcomed!
jcarter1885 replied to slim142's topic in Fi Technical
It is a perfect gain setting, find the song that is the loudest (and/or most excursion) and use that as your guide and you wont have to full around with it again. -
Yeah ground wire and power wire are the same thing, just usually a different jacket on them to help tell the difference when installing.

Second Battery Questions
jcarter1885 replied to Frostedflakejake's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would just ground each individually to the frame unless you want to run a wire from the front of the car to the back just for a ground wire, either way would work fine. -

It doesnt matter what you see someone running there sub at, that because they put all the factors in place so they can run it at those amounts of rms. Most are running it at those amounts for burps or daily, you need to get more info instead of just speculating they can take that much power. Considering you dont know how to run a sub over its rated rms then dont do it unless you dont mind damaging your equipment, the AQ2200 will be fine just because the amp puts out 2200 rms doesnt mean it will send out all those watts all the time.

Oh ok sounds cool, doesnt seem to be damaged.
