Check your headunit ground wire, where is it grounded to (using the wiring harness usually is not good). Where do you have amp grounded? What kind of distortion are you talking about, can you describe it and any more information that will be helpful? Were you using an amp before this?

The amp wont be putting out 1200 rms all the time, since music is dynamic. You will be fine, set your gains right and volume knob control is key.

Well find something that is the height, width and depth of the enclosure you want. Just go to the local store and find some cardboard or anything (make something the size you need). I rather find the time to make a mock up then waste some more money on a box that wont fit. How about you through your max dimensions of your box up here and give anybody who has a Charger the idea of what your trying to put in there and whether it will fit or not. Just my .02
