  4. The Infinity is 800w x 1 @ 2 ohms and 500w x 1 @ 4 ohms. The Amani is 750w x 1 @ 1ohm, 380w x 1 @ 2 ohms and 220w x 1 @ 4 ohms. I wouldnt get the power acoustik period even if you were on a budget. What ohm load(voice coil configuration) are your speakers?

Ok here is a list of subs manufacturers I would refer you to: Sundown Audio, Incriminator Audio, Mach 5 Audio, Soundsplinter, SSA, Fi Car Audio, Ascendant Audio just to name a few. There is no way to tell what sub is better than the other unless you can understand T/S Parameters but you need to decide your sub on your goals and which is better (wont help you). Each sub will be better for its intended purpose or a certain application. Choose your subs on you and your goals and that is it.

x2, Do it for yourself and not to compete against your brother, the only possible way to beat him would be a wall or get a BTL (but everything is install dependent). Dont get me wrong, its fun to compete but dont try to over do it (do it the right way and you may be surprised.

    Powering a 12" BL

If they are gonna charge you to high, check out some carpenters on craigslist who are looking to do some wood working or talk to some enclosure builders on this site (I notice most on here charge less than local shops).

    Enough power supply?

No, the voltage isn't dropping too badly, and it recovers rather quickly. I might have the gains too high like you said, last night it was too dark for me to check, I will check today and see, and thanks for the info. I thought I could burn up the power supply in the amp for asking too much power from the amp if it can't provide as much. Yeah you can but it has nothing to do with how many watts the sub can produce. It has to do with you pushing the amp farther than what it is capable by: wrong gain settings, using bass boost or not controlling the volume knob wisely. The sub doesnt tell the amp to give it more power than the amp can handle, the user tells the amp to send out more power than the amp can handle.

    Welcome to the IHoP

    Who is that directed at?
  18. Kinetik is better in my opinion, go to there website and see what batteries are needed for your application. Why not look at XS Power, with how much power your running you could get away with just getting one battery: I Have a XXXXXXX watt sytem. What battery do I need? - SSA Car Audio Forum

  22. Yeah the SAE is a better choice if it fits your needs and budget, since your needs are running a system on less then 15 volts and not under 1 ohm while giving you more than a 1000 watts. The SAE is made in a different build house, with different parts then the SAZ models. SAZ offers an operating voltage of 10-16 volts, strapping capability, 24db per octave crossover, variable phase shift. This amp is strappable with another one. SAE line is the entry level line. Operating voltage of 12-14.4 volts, 12db per octave crossover. Switchable phase shift. This amp cannot be strapped. Both are very strong and are underrated great sounding amps.
  23. When they come in, the 1500.1D will be powering a pair of Sundown SA-8 D4 Subs a bit off topic, but why is the $425 SAZ-1500D twice as expencive as the $275 SAE-1200D? The best person to answer that question would be Jacob, for he is the only one who can answer that. The SAE-1200D is an entry level amp while the SAZ line is the competitive line. Not really twice as expensive neither but I get your drift.
  24. Dont forget to post a build log with pictures, what will this amp be powering?

Your ripping yourself off by buying car audio products and accessories from local car audio shops, the only good thing about purchasing from a local car audio shop is the convenience factor.
