I use 4 gauge power and ground wires for my SAX-125.2 if that is what you referring to by gauge.
-
How could that happen if that was the case then you could just hook up the rca to one amp and it should work without power wires. The rca just sends the signal, it doesnt send power to an amp.

I've never really understood why kids from the suburbs and small towns (etc) want to drive around listening to some guy rap about "fuckin' hoes, slangin' rock and Benjamins" when it has zero relevance to their life other than they feel cool if they play it really loud in their car with their hat turned sideways and lean to one side. That is all. I dont understand it either especially when you dont know shit about it, to me that is a slap in the face cause growing up that is the stuff I seen on a daily basis or been apart of. People who dont do it glorify it for the wrong reasons: whether there parents wouldnt let them listen to or whatever the reason it is. It is offensive but funny at the same time how you can think you like something and never experienced it and if you do you wouldnt know how to react if it was starring you in the face. I agree with you a 100% Impious, some people thinks its cool or makes them who they are but it just shows your maturity and insecurities. I listen to it cause I like, experienced it and lived it so I can tell what is bs or something to enjoy. Everyone who likes this rap wouldnt like real rap, this is bs at its finest (the new gangsta rap era)

You will still have to run power, ground and remote wires so the amp still can receive power. Check on Sundowns FAQ page, he gives a demonstration on how to do it.

Ascendant Audio Avalanche 15" subwoofer (Sealed)
jcarter1885 replied to edinaminnesota's topic in Ascendant Audio
Did you by any chance do some research and check out there website to see what they recommend for an enclosure size, that would of been the first place I went? -
When he got caught with a sawed off shot gun he got shot at, that is why he got caught. He's not from Atlanta (number one or the South period, most of yall dont know that). Hanging with Gucci Mane, makes you credible (GTFOH)? What makes Gucci Mane your keeper now, you make your name and not someone else. Waka Flacka gets beat up a lot and shot a lot, but he is real (haha)? People's views on the street life and what is going on have no clue only when they listen to rap and believe that is what it is, a completely different story but keep believing it (haha, you guys got a lot to learn). Yeah Trick Daddy is nice, IceBerg's lyrics are ridiculous (in a good way). If you want to listen to some real rappers listen to Tupac, 8 Ball and MJG, Biggie and so on. But if your just getting into rap and thinking this is the life or how it is on the straight, you have a big waking up to do. The closest thing to real is the gangsta rap that Ice Cube, NWA, Boys N The Hood were doing in the 80,90's that had the police scared and censoring there music. Nowadays it is people perpetrating the life or what they seen but have not done. I will let you guys have it and think that is what it is, just funny in my eyes but it is funny how people listen to rap and stereotype it as a lifestyle or how it really is. Listen to it because you like, dont listen to it because you think it makes you or someone else real or it is what you think is really going on. Music used to be about expressing your self, now it is about making money. Listen to a recent interview Waka, he will even tell you. Im done with this issue, but you guys can glorify these individuals all day as being real. A person who is real takes care of there family, community, responsibility and so on. Not selling drugs or rapping about it to get money or attention or fame, get a different aspect of what real is and dont say these rappers are.

No it really depends on the installation and enclosure, most people who have L7's have them in a SPL geared boxed. If it was in a box tuned to your liking then it would be a different story. -

So you contacted the company and asked them what they put out and then you ask us, that makes no sense (why would they lie to you, or do you think someone on this site has more experience with Hifonics amps than Hifonics does)? -
What is real? Talking about shooting and selling drugs and you dont do it, from where Im from that is not real at all but to each its own. You be about it not talk about it. Waka Flacka is fake and not what he proclaims to be, he is just like Plies. They dumb there music down to make it in the rap world, listen to either one of those dudes talk and you will see what Im talking about. Now for beats I like these tracks but for Waka's lyrics they are straight garbage. Dont get sucked into this who is real and who is not, 90-95% of them arent want they seem to be or about what they rap about (just a heads up to yall who dont know whats really going on behind the rap scene so dont get sucked into it). Duran send me that Cocaine Music chopped and screwed.

8 volts is not too much for a Sundown Amp, it will require you not to turn your gain up as high to set it.

Also check your personal messages, you have a pm from me.

Not a problem at all man, glad I could help some.

The rms of the woofer does not change on the size of the sub, they are all rated at 1000 rms so yeah it will still work. Im not to familiar with those type of boxes so I would let someone else chime in on that.
-
I couldnt tell you how much a used SAZ-2000D would go for, have to do some checking around but Im pretty sure when the SAZ-2500D drops many individuals will have some for sale.
-
Yeah if you wire a D2 ohm subwoofer in parallel it will see a 1 ohm load (basically you have 2 sets of 2 ohm voice coils so added together they will drop down to one ohm). If you wire a D2 ohm subwoofer in series it will see a 4 ohm load (basically you have 2 sets of 2 ohh voice coils that will go up in ohms to 4 ohms). The same for any Dual voice coil rating subwoofer, the numbers just change depending on the coil ohm load. If you want go to www.the12volt.com and click on the subwoofer wiring diagram and you can play with all the options.

Mostly install dependant, more information would help also besides what amp they will run off of. Read new topic guidelines before posting again.

Looking good my friend

Sounds fun wouldnt mind putting some turf in myself. Well it will kinda be hard to find some SAZ-2000D's right about now with the new SAZ-2500D starting production. If pushed hard enough I wouldnt mind selling my SAZ-2000D for a good price, still brand new and sitting in box since July when I received it.

Amp Repair.
jcarter1885 replied to PhishHead's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I know the last time I talked to them most repairs are above $60 but it depends on what is wrong and what all has to be fixed. To me pricey depends on the amp and how much it would cost just to buy a brand new one to do the same job, call them and see (db-r.com is helpful). -
You could do a Dcon or Icon in that enclosure, the Dcon takes less power but the SAX-125.2 will push the Icon nicely even though it could take more power. How much power you put on it is up to you, there is no such as underpowering a subwoofer so either choice will do. If you get the Icon then get the Dual 2 ohm voice coil configuration and wire it in series to a 4 ohm load: If you get the Dcon then get the Single 4 ohm voice coil and wire the + on the sub to the bridged + channel on the amp and the - on the sub to the bridged - on the amp.

Amp Repair.

I would get in contact with db-r.com if you want to get them repaired, I cant remember if they still repair all brand amps though. -
Line Driver???
jcarter1885 replied to SilkySmoove's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would adjust some of your settings, having everything up half way is really leaving your lacking some frequencies. Since you want to play the Mach 5 Audio speakers down low they should be in the front doors instead of rear doors if I read that correctly (really not getting a good midbass experience with them in the back doors especially with the subs in the trunk). I would run the MLI-65's from 60/80hz (Sub Sonic Filter set here) depending how low you have your sub crossed at, the Low Pass Filter @ between the halfway point and 3/4 point of the 50-500Hz range. Then I would try the components on high pass filter from 500Hz on up so you wont be overlapping frequencies, then play with the frequencies from there some more to personal preference but I would start in that area if you want to keep your current speaker setup. Just my .02 -
Never heard of that or heard an AQ amp so I cant speak on them to be honest with you but I have heard they do rated power.
-
Really wont make difference in power wise but if you want a better quality amp then go for it IMO. Both will do just fine for whatever needs you have.
