Wire Help
jcarter1885 replied to SaxMan's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
That amp will be fine since it is in your budget, cant really think of anything of the top of my head but you could always check out the For Sale Section on this forum since amps are being sold all the time. -
Wire Help
jcarter1885 replied to SaxMan's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If you dont have that amp and your still looking for an amp what is your budget? If you get that amp a 150Amp fuse would be fine, 12 or 10 gauge speaker wire will do with that sub. How long of wire will depend on box size and how much to get to amp, I ordered like 4 or 5 ft, just get a estimate and if your unsure then it never hurts to have an extra foot just to be safe then sorry. -
You gotta PM.

Can you use any gain knob on these Sundown Amps or are they model specific? If not then I have one from my SAZ-2000D that I wont be using.

Texas is worst, it was 70 degrees up till Saturday when it was 30 degrees and snowing in Dallas (what a good first day of spring). Today was cold as well but tomorrow we will be back in the 70's.

electrical for saz-1500d
jcarter1885 replied to aimone's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Nobody can tell you that since electrical systems act different, its hard to guess if your gonna have voltage drop or lights dimming. The best way to tell is install the amp, volt meter to watch voltage, do the Big 3 in 1/0Awg wire. A secondary battery or XS Power battery should be efficient and should due. -
I think that all depends where you buy it. Here it's about $27 for a sheet of MDF vs $60 or so for a sheet of nice ply. Big difference, but in my opinion completely worth it. x2, its not like MDF was that much to begin with. I wouldnt mind the upgrade in price compared to how much most companies charge for boxes nowadays it is still a steal.

I have to give you :fing34: Mr. Tatts, I did a little cheapo method of lowering road noise for now until I get my mlv and ccf from Don. Earlier today I started using expanding plumbers foam for my rear wheel well areas, where I had gaps between the metal frames in the trunk. I went riding around after I did it, without letting cure (waited close to an hour or two) and it helped drastically with the noise. I still have a lot of noise left, I didnt expect it to completely get rid of the noise but it helped the situation until I can get the proper materials to kill the noise completely. Just wanted to say your are right in most cases, the road noise is coming from the rear wheel well especially in my vehicle.

For that price you minus well go make your own and you will come out way cheaper than that.

Rockwall, Texas is east of Dallas going down I-30 about 15 minutes away from downtown Dallas (give or take some time).

Good luck Sean, when shit like this happens it pisses me off. The bad thing with cases like this they are always given paid leave, told they were doing the right thing to address the situation (we all know they go to far). I feel as though it needs to be a separate justice system to try these punk ass cops who use authority to there power since they didnt have none all there life or got picked on or whatever there reason is why they want to be cops who dont protect and serve. I really hope you guys give it to those officers, one thing I despise is police officers who dont understand they are human beings just like us (not immortal people who cant be touched because they have the government or state backing them).

electrical for saz-1500d
jcarter1885 replied to aimone's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I definitely wouldnt buy that autozone battery and just get one from XS Power that can go under the hood, it should have enough power to start your car and run your system (email nathan at xs power and see what he recommends). I wouldnt do the Big 3 in 4 gauge and then turn around and do it 1/0 gauge, minus well do it 1/0 gauge now (will save you time and money). -
x2, if you want the loudest then I would probably shoot for the Mayhem but it is a toss up (cant go wrong with either one). It will come down to install and a lot of other factors. To really tell which would be the loudest at 30Hz one must test both of them in the same environment.

Low amount of power handling, a very low amount of power handling. Just build it to what is recommended or get another Q18.
