I do only if you do it properly and seal it like a wall kind of, if not just leave it how it is IMO. Or do it and see which one sounds the best to you.

Need New Amp
jcarter1885 replied to slo2sixty's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
What is the voice coil rating on your sub, D1 or D2 ohms? -
Definitely can agree with you on that, I would never have reception on road trips at all (just hated it).
-
Lets get this thing going
-
Need better goals than that, sounds better is personal and subjective to others. Either would have good amounts of output and sound good, kinda a toss up to me.
-
A poll wont help, information and goals will. Some of those subs dont belong on a list together since they are geared for different goals. So read new member guidelines and start over.

Wow, now that is nice . An arm rest and a bad ass enclosure with some beast in it.

18v on a hifonics brutus??
jcarter1885 replied to gadgeteer123's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
After looking at there manual, I think 18volts is still to high. But I would still call just to be safe. -
I like Sprint and there services but hate their phones, never had a fun that functioned properly but I just narrow that down to my luck.

18v on a hifonics brutus??
jcarter1885 replied to gadgeteer123's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I dont think it can handle an 18volt power supply but to be sure call Maxxsonics (Hifonics) tomorrow and find out before anything bad comes from it. -
Wow 62 and still bumping now that is impressive, hope Im there one day.

should i take the deal on this $209 amp
jcarter1885 replied to ExplicitYourSelf's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
SSA Shop - Sundown Audio SAZ-1000D amplifier SSA Store - Sundown Audio SAE-1200D Amplifier 1500+ watts You could choose between these two, both do 600watts at 2 ohms (underrated), if your concern with power output then 750 watts vs 600 watts will not be noticed so dont put that into perspective. -

If you get dual 1 ohm speakers and wire both of them to two ohms at put them on the amp like that then the amp will drop the ohm load down to 1 ohms and you will mess your amp up more than likely. It is 2000w x 1 @ 2 ohms, the reason for the extra speaker terminal is for simplicity of wiring among other things. It is still a one channel amp, just has two sets of terminals for the speaker wire to go. You could get the Dual 2 ohm subwoofers and instead of wiring them together then you can wire them individually in series to see a 4 ohm load. Send each speaker wire to its own set of terminals and the amp itself will drop them down to 2 ohms for you:

Set up Questions
jcarter1885 replied to Addiction's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Wire each of your subs to 2 ohms since you have a dual one subwoofers and send each sub's wire to its own speaker terminals on the amp, the amp will drop the load down: Usually when doing the DMM method you take the least of the two rms, since your subs are 1600 together and your amp is 1200 then you go with the 1200 rms. If you went with the 800 rms then your subs would only see 400 watts each. Settings will come down to personal preference: Bass Boost = Off Low Pass Filter = 60-80Hz, some go as high as 100Hz but it really depends on where your midbass are crossed at or its a personal preference. Sub Sonic Filter = 2-5hz below tuning usually to be on the safe side, consider you have a sealed box you really wont bother with it. Phase = Relative to your system, so play with this after you set your system up (most leave it at zero cause they dont know to much about it). If you like how it sounds at 180 over 0 then leave it at 180 but its what sounds best. -
should i take the deal on this $209 amp
jcarter1885 replied to ExplicitYourSelf's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Its a personal decision but I wouldnt go with the Kicker amp again, there are more amps out there if your interested (that set sub sonic filter they have on there amps bothers me, Id rather have a variable one anyday). Good amps and a steal if you do get it at that price IMO. -
i hope 1 15" btl will do the trick instead of 18"
jcarter1885 replied to flint_810's topic in General Fi
Stop making so many topics on the same subject man, you can keep it all in one. -
x2, just cause your installer says it will fit doesnt mean it would fit and sound good. If I wanted to I could squeeze an 18" in my trunk but not worth it, compared to the space still available after the 15" was in there. Like I said the most bass is the box that fits and it is recommended for the driver, not the biggest sub you can fit in your car (you pick subs by enclosure room you have available and not the size of the sub). So go measure and get back to us, if your installer is wrong I would definitely be more worried about the installer then the equipment.

Optimum sealed vs small ported
jcarter1885 replied to Gatorfooseball08's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Its not what is better for the Dcon, its whats better for you goals or application. Usually ported will have more output than a sealed box, if your man goal is output then go ported but if not then go sealed. Either will have good output and great sound quality so the choice is yours. If you need help with a ported design Im sure someone on here will help you out but if you dont want to go that route then a sealed box will be easier and perform just as good. Just my .02 -
The one that fits, your best bet is to go measure your trunk and give us the max dimensions (height x widht x depth) this should help determine what will fit. Make sure to leave room for amps, batteries and air flow around box to get into cabin from trunk.
-
Well just no the most bass you can get from a single sub is the one in its recommended enclosure. So throwing an 18" in there in a cramped box will be outperformed in a 15" in the right enclosure, so the decision is yours.

rms of a speaker doesnt always determine what will be louder than the other, depends on installation and a number of other things. Like stated above read new member guidelines so you can help us help you.

Stock Electrical On 92 camaro RS? Info Please!
jcarter1885 replied to Camaroaq92's topic in General Fi
Honestly that will be determined by your listening habits, I wouldnt ever want my voltage in the low 13's or in the 13's period if I can control it. Just never let it go below what your battery floats at, when you start getting into the high 12's then you may want to chill out and let things recharge. Its a personal decision and will come down to how much and how loud you play your system, dont jam at idle. -

You should be fine with what you have once you do the additions unless you have a bad alternator but I doubt it, the best way to tell is to get that volt meter and go from there.
