x2, Good Question. Better yet what are your goals, are you stuck on SSA subs, what vehicle, do you have the electrical to back up the amp and any more information you would like to share with us about the install.

    New Fi X

Seriously, you want to throw 1000w or better yet 2000w on a 300w entry level sub. Do you even need to ask that question? I say do it just so you can learn from example what will happen and then be mad at yourself for messing up a brand new sub. If they could take that much power then why would they rate them at 300 watts? Answer that for me and dont say cause I see other people running double recommended rms or better to their sub.

    Big Three Question

Leave everything alone and run the wire from your alternator positive post to the positive terminal on the battery, make sure you fuse the wire to protect the wire and as a precaution.
  8. Dont use the wattage output that is for the speakes hooked up to it (that 40 is max anyway, so pretty useless). You use the pre-out voltage, most headunits are 2 volts, 4 volts, 5 volts or 8 volts. The voltage signal of the rca outputs.
  9. You use your gain to match your pre-out voltage or signal of your head unit. With 1500 watts on a BTL you should be fine, make sure you listen for distortion and you should be fine if you set the gain correctly.

    Your Favorite show off Songs!

Well this is not a thread to whine about it, its what people have that works in there system as far as songs go. If you have other songs that are listed that do it for you then list them instead of getting your panties in a bunch. Its not about the lyrics obviously since you answered your own question in your rant, it is about show-off songs pertaining to bass they put out. Twista - Piece of Mind Twista Ft. Bone - We Aint No Hoes (broke my trunk latch a few years ago) 8Ball and MJG Ft. Young Dro - Bring It Back

    Best songs for xcon demo's

One question for you Stealth, if the enclosure is not part of the install then why would you even have one in the first place? You gotta install the sub into something, which is the enclosure. You gotta install the enclosure into something, which is the vehicle and so-on.

    MDF enclosure question

It could be used for a number of things such as: structure support, some subs way 60 lbs. and greater so something has to support that weight and stay solid to withstand the pressure among other things.
  18. 14 gauge will work fine for subwoofers, 8 is over kill but people use it. Really it will come down to personal preference and if you have wiring laying around or how much your willing to spend.

4 Fi Audio IB3 18's walled off 15Hz tune in a VAN BUILD LOG

Should be crazy when done, I would just send the amp in and it should save you from hassle in case it may be something wrong but wont show until sometime in the future. Use your last experience as a learning tool and get the amp checked before installing, whether you do it or them (I recommend them to void the warranty).

    Official 2010 SSA Texas Meet

Bummer, it would have been nice to have met you in person. If things do come through, come down and join us. Yeah I definitely wanted to meet you guys and get to hear some systems. I will be working on the car audio side and getting things done, I even have a temporary sub setup coming. Just getting things together and feel as though I rather get some maintenance on the car before I take a trip. When I do come I have a buddy who will drive his car with me since I did his system recently and he is very impressed with it.
