I know you meant to say it is a shame when your hobbies and lifestyle takes away from your car audio... Naw that is not what I meant to say , car audio is a passion of mine but there are other things I rather have then spending all my money on speakers, amps and etc. But it is fun so what can I say, just cant wait till I get closer to what I want. No SQ over here so im not worried about that part, just been eyeing them lately so I said why not try them. Im just looking for something different I guess, this is a first time Im looking for midbass and loud vocal midrange from one speaker (usually hard to do). If I dont like these speakers then I will be going back to PA speakers. I never heard the Type R's or X's so I wouldnt know how to compare them to Crescendo speakers, but on floridaspl they have great reviews so I will see if I agree.

I just purchased some Crescendo Audio CCX65 mids to test out against some Seleniums 6W4P to see what I like more, doing a alot of testing and product reviews before I buy some speakers for my front stage.

I know, you can almost set your clock to the rain right now. Although it didn't rain hard yesterday, kinda weird. Every day this past week it has started pouring around 4, and a couple days ago it just decided to go all day lol. Thats what happens in the South, when that warm air and cool air mix it always causes afternoon storms. No matter where you are it is the same way, Florida and Texas weather are too similar.

Trouble Setting amp gains
jcarter1885 replied to caintrain's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
No matter what your wiring you want you power and ground wire to be the same size and if you want to or have to then you make you ground wire bigger than your power wire. So in your case I would use the 4 awg for the ground wire and 5 awg for the ground wire until you can get matching wire sizes. Just my logic and with that amp try to use 1/0 awg if you can. Check your DMM to make sure its on the right setting as well. -
Take a look into what everyone is saying and do you have anymore goals besides I want two subs that can take 3-4000 watts a piece. If that is the case then look into the: Sundown Nightshades (Nightshades v.2 will be out within the next few weeks), Fi BTL, AA Mayhem, IA Wardens or AA SMD's just to name a few. Do some reading and searching on this forum as well since there is a lot of information that may answer the questions you have such as this one (by the way there is no best 3000 watt sub if that was the case there would only be one of them). This is your system and you can do it how you want just make sure you do it right, make sure you have a well-constructed enclosure, wiring on par, electrical to back it up and sense on how to run the system so you know what your doing. Ask a lot of questions to make sure everything is right even if you have small doubt, now that you got a plan all you have to do is execute it.

Congrats man

Good luck in completing your dreams

Man dont listen to these guys, go big or go home 4 gauge FTW and the extra DBzzzzzzzzzz. 10-14 gauge will be fine, you can use 8 gauge if you want but you will have to wire each terminal directly to the amp. So smaller gauge is acceptable and wont hurt performance at all.

Whats the upgraded substage gonna be?

2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 "Classic" - Bass without blowthrough
jcarter1885 replied to JBurt09's topic in Build Logs
I just seen this build on the floridaspl, looking good. I ordered some Stinger HPM wire today, needed new wire anyway. -
Any ideas to what subs and amp your gonna run?

Use goo b gone. The stuff works wonders when removing sound deadeners. Goo B Gone works wonders on getting stingy things off a lot of surfaces.

x2 but I would do this with any HU, I messed up my JVC awhile ago by not turning it off before messing with things. Just trying to be fast instead of taking my time and doing it right.

Noise with radio off
jcarter1885 replied to Cant Get Enough's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Now thats odd, you said there is a noise in your amp with the radio off? Is this with the car still on, why are your speakers receiving a signal with the radio being off? -
