x2, I keep a Michael Jackson cd in the car.

A little update for whats been happening and what I have planned for this week, I will finally have bass on Friday (11 months with no bass and Im back from the dark side). Recently I installed my Crescendo XST2 SuperTweeters under the dash until I can get some tweeters I can actually fit in my car somewhere, my Sundown SAX-125.2 is powering the supertweeters at the moment. On to the news at hand, I purchased the Sundown SA-15 on Pre-Order and it wont be here for another 2-3 months so I have to wait on that . Well considering I just purchased an AudioPipe APSM1300 to check out and see what it can do (rated at 1000rms at 1 ohm) so well see. I just got in touch with my friend who I sold my Sundown Zv.1-15 (D4) to and talked him into selling me the sub and box I built for it back for $180. So I will pick that up on Friday . Now I will have a Zv.1 and SA-15 each to play with until my big spring build. Pictures are being uploaded now.

If you already have the amp it will be fine but if your still looking then what is your budget for an amp? -

Not a fan of Tequila or its taste but it will mess you up, had some good times drinking on Tequila
-
Just a heads up everybody does not have there signatures turned on so remember that in the future and nobody reads all your old posts, plus its part of the topic posting guidelines. Electrical seems to be sufficient but like we tell everyone else the only way to tell is to install it and go from there, every install and electrical situation will be different.
-
, one thing people dont do today. I would just be made I got caught thats all, I wouldnt be mad at the person at all.
-
At least give the information on your electrical so people can know what to tell you to add or take away from what you already have.

SSA Forum is 8 years old & SSA Inc. is 4 years old today.

Congrats and keep up the good work, are there any new productions in the works? -
I like the materials it is going to be made out of, may just get some Eminence Speakers until I can get my hands on these puppies. Any tweeters or something for highs?
-
Test it with a DMM, take a picture as well to see if it is a bad buldge?
-
I wouldnt put any speakers in the rear deck since the bass in the trunk will over power it anyday and possible damage your speakers with all that pressure in the cabin. I would just take them out and let more bass get into the cabin from the trunk, just leave teh speakers holes open.
-
When it comes down to the option of which way to fire your subs and port in a trunk I was wondering did the amount of power you were running made a difference if you have to fire your subs forward (into the cabin) or to the rear (back of the trunk)? I know that it can be a personal preference and is ususally done when people are competing or wanting more output fro m there setup but I was just curious does power level play a role even if it is a daily driver. On a side note I have heard some of the low end is sacrificed when forward firing as well since it takes the waves longer to bounce off something, will a lower tuning help out with this issue? Will the issue be that noticeable if you were to have a tuning of 33-35hz vs. 31-33hz vs 28-30hz tuning, I know it is not that big of a difference in those tuning levels just curious as to which tuning level will have excellent lows and excellent ouput (daily driver ground pounder) with a forward firing design? Thanks fellas just weighing all my options on designs before jumping in the water on a big build.

With that much power you may want to go smaller on the internal volume but others will chime in with more help.

Some open discussion on product development.

Well it doesnt even have to have those crossover capabilities, just some simple 4 channel amp with a good amount of power. I remember a while back when you had the SAE amp that was a 4 channel amp but never made the scene: -
Naw Im not set on rear firing if forward firing is what im after, thats what the purpose of this thread was. Ive always had rear firing setups and loved them but never had a forward firing setup. The ones I did here that were forward firing where not sealed off and where horrible sounding to me but I cant judge that since it was not done correctly. More responses and input is appreciated, still have some time till this build gets started.

Where is a good place to buy wire?
jcarter1885 replied to chainsaw's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I was using KnuKonceptz Kolossus wire and had no problems with it at all and switched to welding wire from weldingsupply.com, personal preference really but I like the welding wire better. Replacing all my wire with welding wire since I gotta new crimping tool as well I wanted to replace the old wire anyway. You cant go wrong either way man. -

This new design for the pole cap on the SA speakers, will it be on the SA-15s that are coming out at the end of the year? What about a nice 4 channel amp without all the crossover features of the 100.4D, maybe one with the features of the SAX-125.2 and with a nice footprint. Dont want to sound selfish but Im looking for something that has nice amount of power bridged at 4 ohms (500rms or so).
