I use Welding Supply wire for my Big 3 Wiring and battery wiring, even from battery postive/ground to distribution blocks. From distribution blocks to amplifiers is the only place you will spot KnuKonceptz Kolossus Fleks wire in my car.

Help me choose! IB3, X or DCON? or something else?
jcarter1885 replied to slim142's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
You wont have to change your wire for 4 gauge unless your talking about the Big 3 or your main power wire coming from your battery, if you have a distribution block and you are using 4 gauge going to your sundown amp you will be fine. If you use your amp at 1 ohm then yes you will need 1/0 wire for it. I would suggest you start with the electrical side of things and take care of your big three, get a voltmeter and slowly work your way to upgrading equipment. If you upgrade equipment but fail to take care of other things your install may suffer. Another possibility is to just save that $300 and add some more cash to it and get the Xcon that you really want, this way you want be throwing money away to just get the Xcon at the end. -
That's what the air ride/custom fab forums are for.

Want it to be loud on music, I have no budget will pay anything to get best quality and vehicle is a sebring I have a video of currentf setup also on youtube as holychips7. Build a wall, What dimensions do you have to work with? You could get two more TI's and a bigger amp, that would probably be cheapest If it's still not enough, replace TI's with some other 15s Honestly the possibilities are endless when you have no budget or space requirement No Budget means everything is available for you, do you want a wall or trunk setup? -

I didnt have a problem using Liquid Nails, maybe he didnt use the right kinds since they have one made just for wood. -
The only system I have a picture of, this is the first box I ever built though (too small port but tuned at 26hz still moved some air) 3-12" Kicker CVX's with 5.79ft^3 @ 25.94hz, the biggest amp I had on here was a Profile AP1200 bridged.

More than likely caulk or silicone to seal the box. -
Wow you set a car alarm off with your system, have you ever did it with a factory system before?

jcarter1885 replied to funbogie's topic in Newbie Sign IN
Whatever amp is in your budget and power range then I suggest getting, first choose a sub then we will help you pick out an amp. Audioque is not a bad choice along with others but first things first. -

Using the wire brush to do a little design so it wouldnt look so plain was just killer, I think it is great but thats just my opinion.

Gotta question for you guys, Im trying to find out if I should do another spot for my ground wire coming from my battery. My main battery is in the trunk and it has some metal piece attached to it where the stock ground was located and unpainted. Not to long ago I scraped the paint of the metal and redid the ground with bigger wires. In the pictures below I will show you were I drilled a hole on the bottom of the trunk floor to make a new ground spot but the metal there is very thing (if you push on it it waves a little). Is there a level of thickness the metal needs to be to be a good ground. If not then the last pictures is a whole I will run the wire through to the frame of the vehicle, I dont want to have a wire under/outside the car but if I have to I will. Thanks guys and on to the pictures: Factory Ground Spot New Ground Spot/Flimsy Metal Whole to get to frame

Still waiting on answers about this product, is it that useful or should I just pass it up? Thanks for any input. If they do some improvements then what can I expect if I run them behind some midrange speakers playing from 200hz-2000/3000hz?
