Is there a difference between brands of amp kits?
jcarter1885 replied to swagger_wagon468's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
4 gauge power and ground wire for your 50.4 1/0 gauge power and ground wire for your 2500.1 ring terminals for your wiring that will be hooked up to batteries 20-30 ft. of 18 gauge wire for your remote turn on wire 1 set of 2 channel rca's and 1 set of 4 channel rcas 5 fuse holders and appropriate fuses(4-300 anl fuses and a 250 anl fuse) 1/0 power and ground wire to complete your big three wiring secondary battery to provide power your going to need I may be forgetting somethings but this should get you started. -
Do a little reading and researching before making a topic:

As stated above the 125.2 will be fine, if you havent heard a high sensitivity driver then you dont understand how little of power you need to get them loud. Considering the efficiency on your mids, your gonna need to keep the gains down on the sundown thats powering your highs if you want to hear the words/midbass in the songs that are coming out of your mids. In my eyes I dont see the horns having a problem keeping up with your 150db level, its gonna be your mids buddy. Expecting to hear any midbass will almost be impossible at full tilt with or without headphones on. I can see you turning up the gains on the horns to compensate for the mids so I would think about changing mids as I was telling you in the previous chat we had. I know you like the AA carbons but they might not be the ones for your application with your listening levels. Coming from someone who has some experience with playing with high sensitivity drivers; you will damage a lot of mids if they cant keep up with the tweeters and vice versa especially with a low experience level with that particular equipment. No offense just what I went through and passing it along.

Colby's Golf TDI Build. (Hope you like pics)

Where are you in DFW? I'm in West Fort Worth on the base. Im in Arlington by the Cowboy and Ranger stadiums. -
no, it will split that 3500 between the two subs. yeah that is if he was using one 3500 watt amplifier but he will be using two of them. OP if you have to ask that question then yes you will be in need of recones before you know it, just stick with the recommended rms and use one of the amps on both subwoofers. But hes saying 2 3500s for 4 btls. assuming hes running 1 3500 per pair of subs. 1750 rms per sub. Man you better have a stout electrical!! Thanks Steve, reading was greater than me at the moment

AMP HELP PLZ!!!
jcarter1885 replied to ViperC's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
How about you give us a budget so people wont keep throwing random amps out there. There are plenty other amps out there that are worth buying besides Sundown if its not in your price range, so you should be able to find something in your price range. If you ordered a D2 subwoofer then any amp that does 1000-2000 rms at 1 ohm will be fine for your application. -

Start your own topic so you can get answers geared to your needs and application since your looking for products to fit your taste. Also go do some research and make a list of the drivers in the categories you desire and bring it back for someone to evaluate. This will help you get better and more detailed responses.

over here i do

i've got a 10" ssd no options ordered the 14th of october and have'nt seen any change on my order yet. I know they where waiting for magnet from overseas somewhere???? Instead of making a response in a thread, email them and give them time to respond. There has been some hold-up at the build house and everything should be getting taken care of shortly.
-
If you ordered a new btl then it will be around that time or so, read the topic on btls and you will see that it could be up to a 4 week wait for them to ship out the new btls.

I decided to start the Build Log finally, unlike most it isnt complete and wont be finished in a month or two (as Im still making decisions and buying gear at the moment). I am going to start the build with what has been done in the trunk so far. Bare naked trunk, starting battery factory location (2 - 1/0 AWG Kicker Hyperflex, soon to be 2 - 3/0 Welding Cable runs of ground wire). Trunk with Carpet Sundown SAX-125.2 (for mids - all wiring will be upgraded to KnuKonceptz Kollossus 4 Gauge and KnuKonceptz Karma 16 ga. speaker wire).
-
With you subsonic being so low and having the subs you have I believe you probably did damage something trying to give yourself a lot of output at lower frequencies. Hopefully not and it is not that serious, check your install.
-
I dont understand how the subs dont play the lows anymore especially if you havent changed anything, unless your trying to compare the output of lower frequencies to higher ones and that is just impossible on the same amount of power.
-
No need to bump your own thread, someone will chime in just give it a few days since the weekend is ending. Thanks

On my car it was where my cooling fan was grounded to, the negative wire from my cooling fan went to a bolt on my engine. There was an 8 gauge wire going from the bolt on my engine to my frame, I sanded down where the ground was on the frame since it wasnt from the factory and upgraded the wire to 1/0 gauge. Just add an additional wire to what is already there, dont replace the wire.
-
Shouldn't be that crucial, some vehicles make it easy to get to the alt bracket. Instead of doing the alt- to chassis, I just did my engine block to chassis and it helped so you could try that as an alternate.
