    Project 1998 Acura 3.5RL

Another day of getting nothing done on the car, started to work on Big 3 but noticed that I didnt have my socket wrench with me but I have the kit. FTL , but I will borrow a friends or something. I need a socket wrench to remove the navigation in the trunk as well, absolutely waste of time today. Trust me I could fit an 8" or 10" speaker in this door but I dont want to hack it up honestly, the panels look fresh as they are now. What im gonna do is just take the bose grills off and remove the door speakers, then mount the speakers to inner door frame.

Tell me about it man it blows, I think I seen one online for $260 for my car but it doesnt do what I need it to do. My plans are to take out the Navigation unit on top and either place a double din unit or get a Carputer for the car (hove suggested it). Im really liking the Carputer idea as well as the double-din but Im going either route right now. Where the stock radio is Im gonna take out and customize it to where I can put my AudioControl Epic-160. But these are just plans that are still in the air.

Im gonna take out the 6x9" speakers in the rear deck once I install the system, the rear doors are 5.25" and the front doors are 6.75". I will replace the front and rear doors (the rears are getting replaced just because its already a spot for speakers, thats why), here are pictures of the doors. Front Doors Rear Doors

We should share thoughts and plans on setups one day Planning on using B & C 10NW64 with the Image CD1E V3 full-body horns, thinking of upgrading the horn drivers with the Selenium D2500Ti-Nd-8 and adapter to get a little more power handleing. What you got in mind?? I read you don't have room for the horns under the dash... Yeah I have room for horns under the dash, just not for full size horns like I wanted.

Thanks man, only if any one knew what i paid for it you would shit yourself. Ill have to definitely drive it more, but with no modifications way more quieter than my Saturn Ion was (the build quality is a 1000 times better). I enjoy it even at 220,000 miles it rides better than my Saturn did at 86,000 miles, I definitely enjoy driving this car.

    Project 1998 Acura 3.5RL

So far I ran into a snag at the moment and didnt get anything accomplished except for cleaning out the car and taking for a spin. My main problem is what to do with the center console, cant find a dash kit for it so I may have to take it around to a few shops and see what they will charge to customize one. Solutions: -Take navigation unit & screen out of trunk and center console since I dont have the software for it and have other gps navigational devices such as my phone. I will keep the pieces in case I trade in or something in the future. This will allow for my room in trunk and a double din unit or Carputer to be placed at top of console. It will also give me the ability to take out the radio and get place my AudioControl Epic-160 in the middle of the console. -Or just say forget it and use Bose system and get a LOC and tape into rear speakers and just install my subwoofer for now (definantly dont like this decision but we will see. *But for now I will enjoy the Bose system until I come to some conclusions, I need your help SSA so make some suggestions. I will take some more spots of the trouble spots so you can get a better understanding of what Im talking about.*

AA Mayhem 18" VS SMD 18"

to share a video.....and flex doesnt so much matter just wanting to know what would be the better choice of the 2 for daily After talking to the dealer Brian on here when I was interested in one, he was telling me that the SMD is more musical than the the Mayhem. As far as db numbers it is hard to say which one will be better, just my input.

If you dont care about looks or what features the head unit has then buy the cheapest one that has a subwoofer pre-out since that is all your worried about.

Chevy Cavalier 04 Audio System Build Log

Keep up the good work, you will be done before you know it.
  12. Go install those speakers behind your sub and let me know if you can still here them, if thats the case I may install some in my tunk lid. According to a previous post, he doesn't have the sub amp yet? If he can't hear it once he puts the sub in, bridged up front is the way to go. My whole point was when has the sub and sub amp in OP there are other threads on the rear fill issue as well, do some research under the speakers / sub section if you want to do some more reading.
  13. Go install those speakers behind your sub and let me know if you can still here them, if thats the case I may install some in my tunk lid.
  14. Thats exactly what im saying, I emailed Steve Mantz the person who made the amps and asked him for myself. Put the components on the amp bridged and you will be set. If your rear speakers are on your hatch behind your subs then sell your rear fill and spend that money on materials to help your door shine when you put in the Bravox. That will be useless as some of us stated earlier, unless you have pa speakers or something behind those subs you wont even hear them (even with pa speakers you wont hear them over the sub).
  15. Yes cause technically your still running all four channels thats why you still need to have another set of rca's or splitter if you run a 4 channel amp bridge. No problem with these questions, better to be safe then sorry.
  16. Haha your right, OP listen to this guy and run the components off the first two channels and your rear fill off the back two channels while each channel sends 50 watts to speakers.
  17. Even on amp power those rears wont keep up with his 18" xcon especially being placed in the rear area of the vehicle. OP even if you did want to run those speakers in the rear then get another amp cause trust me the power levels you want to use on that Boss Amp are at 4 ohms bridged. The power levels the booklet stats are peak levels and not rms levels, just a heads up.
  18. Why wouldnt they work? They will produce power which in turn will produce sound from your speakers.
  19. Dont install the rear fill and install the speakers on the 2 channels bridged, trust me you will thank me later. You can hook them up to 2 channels but they will be receiving a small amount of power so it would be useless in my eyes. Since you got a good pair of components give them the power they need to perform well. Your sub will drown out your rear fill unless your speakers are highly efficient.

What was the point of the video? Do you want your next sub to move your window more or less?

    ** ZED Audio Group Buy #3 **

Read the specs on the amp on the store page and it will tell you if it can run at HPF on all channels, email ZED Audio and ask them as well (do some work to get your answers man).
