Removing or modifying SSF filter on SS Rubicon 2500?
jcarter1885 replied to s_carter's topic in Advanced Discussion
As long as you have the tools and experience working on amps then find the schematics of the amp and go for it. I dont see a problem with the amp having a way to disable the subs sonic filter since some amps out there have this feature on them. -
I personally like the first sticker better

and we are glad to offer you some assistance. Take some time and browse the forum, you may find answers to some of your questions.

Thanks guys as that is what im currently using but I dont want to keep paying for a temporary fix that will end up adding up to how much it would cost to do a permanent fix.
-
Now you got me pondering, SAZ-2500D or SAZ-3500D
-
I love it, I want a 15". Will 3.66ft^3 at 31hz suffice?

Any input on enclosure info and how it compares or contrast from your last sub? -
Cant wait to see if he does try to sell them to you.
-
If you have to ask then 2000-2500 for daily use but it depends on box size, application, goals, listening habits and the guy behind the volume knob. To many factors to tell honestly.
-
Yeah thats the same enclosure, it found a new sub to call its home. Thanks man and yeah Im enjoying it more than the Saturn as well. The only set back right now is getting a new battery, so that is the first priority getting a xs power d2400 under the hood and then were rolling. My next oil change is going to cost me a $100 bucks, need to rethread the drain plug since its been stripped.

Wow what good information you gave us. What is your budget for these items, the car you have so we will know if you can even fit a 18" subwoofer. We need more information than you gave us. Read these threads before posting again, thanks.

They will let us know when they are close to the date or ready to give out more information so just wait like everyone else

The times have changed, we went from putting the right equipment into cars and getting the best scores out of what we had to putting 2x or 3x the rms to a subwooferto make it "SHINE". We also have people who believe 18"s are so cool that they should throw 2 of them in a trunk car even if its not the right size box for them. There are also some poeple who believe it will take them 10,000 watts-30,000 watts just to get 1st place trophies or little medallions. Its a new age where buying recones is where its at, so why give rms to a subwoofer when you can fix it for cheap if you mess it up.
-
Its not about having experience with a sub, its about other factors such as: box size, gain levels, how you cant control the volume, your listening habits, your goals (2200 watts per SQ Sub rated at 1000 watts is not in the same goal) among other things.
-
What I dont understand is that you already doubled the rms of your subwoofers in the past and your wanting to do the same thing now? Why ask the question if it can be done, yes it can but why would you want 2200 watts on a 1000 watt driver. Enclosure size will have more to do with power handling then just picking a random number and deciding to throw that much rms to the subwoofer. If you insist of 2-Fi Q's then buy just one AQ2200D and give each 1100 rms, I would only put 2200 watts to a Q if this were strictly for competition purposes and not as a daily driver.

Nope, no input yet.

Big 2 Wiring completed, I will complete the Big 3 when I get my High Output Alternator. Battery to chassis and engine block to chassis show below. Big 1:Engine Block to Chassis (Ground) I replaced the factory wire with 4 gauge wire since it looks bad and besides its 12 years old, plus I added 2/0 welding cable just cause and removed the paint from the factory ground location. Before After Upgraded Factory Wire - 2/0 Welding Wire Big 2: Battery to Chassis (Ground) I replaced the factory wiring here since it was old, I added a 1/0 wire and 2/0 wire from negative battery terminal to chassis.

x2 I would just run bass less cause that will not provide the bass you want without turning up the gain/volume and bass boost too much.
-
After about 10 good kicks look what I got in the trunk: Ski Hole View (My duckies are ready for some Bass)
-
x2 I voted for #5 as well hands down
