Amp to power 4 SA-10s
jcarter1885 replied to Jd377's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I just explained that to you, rms power is more dependent on box and other factors. If you want to get a bigger amplifier then your gonna have to learn your limits to see when and how hard you can push your system. Its not about them being underrated, subs can blow with less then rms and subs can last forever with more than rms power. If you do get a bigger amp then you will have to adjust the gain accordingly and watch how you control the volume knob. It can be ran off a 3500 watt amp but you gotta just watch how you play your system, headroom is a good thing if you know how to use it. -
I seen people run there sub amps without any problems, didnt know that they sold 2 channel and 4 channel amps (learn something new everyday). Tuned in till the review is posted

Amp to power 4 SA-10s
jcarter1885 replied to Jd377's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
those subs are rated at 600rms for a reason, just cause there are youtube videos and people throwing more power at the subs doesnt mean you have to. Since your asking about headroom, i assume you wouldnt understand how to use the extra power and I would suggest you stay within range. The way you listen to your music, goals, box among other things will determine how much power those subs take. What you dont see from those videos is how long they play there systems or can play there systems to subs get hot or need to be reconed. I would rather have the ability to beat on my subs as long as I want without damaging them in the long run then having to buy recones once or twice a year. -
They are not on the ssa store.

solo x 10's or mtx 9500 15's???
jcarter1885 replied to SMpaintball78's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Stop making this vs that threads, thanks. Make an informed decision on your own do you think its a good deal or worth it or something you want then you will be set. Every week asking whether this sub is better than the next is a waste of forum space, we dont mind helping but these threads are useless. -
SSA does not do pre-sales, when they are ready to sell them they will be on the store available for purchase.

The sundown sa series subs are not the same as skar vvx series, anybody close enough behind the scenes of both woofers will tell you that. Nothing about them are the same, except for some cosmetics/looks.

Bad amps or bad setup
jcarter1885 replied to [email protected]'s topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I doubt its due to vibrations, if so then you need to build a proper enclosure. Everything vibrates in the car, stop trying to play your equipment at full tilt till you get the electrical you need. Rewire it to 4 ohms or lower ohm load then your at now until you have the electrical to run it at full power. -

Im sorry but I wouldnt of paid that, they got you dude. Nowhere did he say anything about installing an alternator for free. How dont you have time to install the alt but you notice the electrical connections are wrong and it wont fit without major modifications?

Multiple runs of 1/0...needed?
jcarter1885 replied to stevemead08's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Usually you see people with multiple runs of 1/0 gauge and its not needed, unless your restricted to the number of batteries you have. If your running one battery in the rear then you will need more runs since your electrical is more dependent on front battery and alternator. If your gonna have a battery bank then 1-2 runs of 1/0 gauge to the rear will suffice. If you have numerous alternators then yeah it would help to have more runs from front to rear. -
How much power are you throwing at your Sundown 8"s?

Sound Quality is not subjective !!! Its perfection in Car Audio installation and sound reproduction !!! And I would love to see this car in the Sound Quality lanes !!! I thing it could bring in some very impressive scores !!! Haha thats hilarious. If you say so, what is used to measure this perfection (ears, taste and biasness doesnt count)?

You could just put some blockers or wire an in-line crossover to the supertweeters and run them like I stated earlier or you could just run them off of the headunit.
