I wouldn't put midbass speakers behind me period. Put the IA components in the kick and install the 8s in the door.

M5, you would have made an excellent economics teacher. TINSTIFAAL= there is no such thing as a free lunch, shipping always gets paid for. This & That -
When did $900+shipping equal $750,
-
Yeah Im pretty sure he said the 18's will be the last ones that he will start upgrading, the smaller sizes are first iirc.
-
-
Well then buy it now like the rest of us if you have the money, then you wont have to worry.
-
I don't understand ... Your planning on installing enough sub bass power to completely destroy your beautiful truck in a matter of months and your worried about everything else looking factory stock ??? x2

When I say better quality I don't mean component speakers. I'm talking about companies who specialize in pro audio equipment, speakers that will get louder and play lower than rockford fosgates will. Check out usspeaker.com or parts-express.com. Why no 10s or 12s, less speakers and will still be louder.

I like my RFs too, but if your gonna go big in the Hummer than I would suggest better quality speakers. Just depends on what your looking for and budget.

98 Plymouth breeze build - 2 18's on 4000watts
jcarter1885 replied to Warrior54's topic in Build Logs
Music is dynamic and amps aren't a 100% efficient so regardless the amp rating underated or not you wont see the full rms. -
300 dollars and no money back. Maybe you want to give me 300 for a piece of junk? Naw I wouldn't be in that position in the first place, research would have told me not to deal with Stetsom. We understand you lost money but no need in beating a dead horse.

This thread is pointless period, you already got your point across. Grow up and let it go already.
-
So are all you guys gonna do is argue everytime Randall makes a post, just clutters up the build thread.

Rockford class-d amp for the highs, I think yes
-
What model since their are like 4 of them and why are you guys the only ones having issues with these amps? All the reviews have been good so far, well we will see on Friday.
-
Well thats excellent news because I went with the Prime Series, R600-4D. I didnt want to shell any big money for a class d till I got my Zed so I went with a lower series. Thanks for the info because I was looking at that Power series one as well.

Don't put 18s in 3-4 cubic feet, that's the space needed for 15s. Id rather have the right subs in the right enclosure rather than 2 subs in a too small enclosure. -
The ohm load will have nothing to do with getting the SA's to there full potentiol. Having (4) D4 ohm subwoofers will get you an to a .5 ohm load or 2 ohm load, if you dont have a good electrical or not competing then stick with a 2 ohm load. A good amp that will power those subs would be and Audiopipe 3000, Rockford 2500 or Kicker 2500. Just depends on your budget really, how much do you want to spend on an amplifier? Wiring diagram for (4) D4 ohms subs, 2 ohm load:

What are the subs, d2 or d4? This will help answer your question better.

Got three XBL motors I'm willing to get rid of

14 gauge wire

I have two different brands of speaker wire that are turning green inside the jacket. It is not turning green at the ends just in certain areas of the covered wire. Ive spent two hours googling and just seen multiple forums and websites where it turned into an argument whether the discoloration was due to oxidation or the chemical reaction between cheap insulation and the copper wire. Please don't turn this into a pissing contest. Either you know or don't know, don't need guesses. What causes the discoloration and will it affect the signal if used? Remember its not at the ends, just restating that for the people who can't read. One set of wire is brand new and it came like this in the unopened spool, Monster cable. The other was installed in my car for a while and turned green over time, Monoprice cable.
