Just got mine this morning thanks to DJ and Jared! My god this thing weighs a ton!! Can't wait to start doing some testing!
-
Got to side with Jacob on this. I ran my 3000D's at a 1/2 ohm on music, but it was only for quick 10 to 15 second demo's. My new set-up will be wired at 1 ohm per 4500D (2 of them) and strapped lower, just for burps.

I have up for sale my two Nightshade 18's in the for classifieds: sale/wanted section of this forum. Sorry Jacob, thread jacking is not nice.

Now that is some serious goodness. When can I get my demo?? Freak Show?

Just installed my 50.4 yesterday, and man- this is one very powerful amp!! If anyone is scared off by the 50 watts X4 rating, you will be missing out on a fenominal product! I am so impressed with it, that I will buy another one in the next few weeks. That is if Jacob still has any in stock.

Hope nobody was n there squati'n...

You guys should have been down here man we missed ya I know, I know. Believe it or not, Scott has been super busy on installs and we have been getting the Jimmy ready for the NSPL finals.

Try using the ole cheap wal-mart scoche rca's. They seem to work for me perfect. Also, are you using any type of x-overs, line drivers or possibly a maxx link in conjunction with the amplifiers? The maxx link added awful engine noise to my set-up and I removed it.

Good job Gary! A lot of people don't realize how much power you are working with. Exceptional. We will see you at NSPL Finals?

I got all of the text's last night. This thing is going to be brutal!! Team Nemesis FTW!

What is the maximum voltage an 18v Sundown amp can take?
team nemesis steve replied to shizzzon's topic in Sundown Audio
I found no gain from running my 16 volt alternator any higher than 18 volts on a small bank of batteries but others may disagree. Most competitions like DB Dragg, Competition Only etc. only allow you to run through at 18 volts. You can bet your azz they will check it at a big high profile show. -
I see no reason to strap the amps either. The amps can be strapped and I have heard that they can generate more spl that way but when we wired my subs up to to my 3500d's unstrapped They never went into protection even at higher volumes. As a matter of fact, I also changed out my head-unit to a cheap Alpine unit and stuck with Scoche RCA's.

Looks like the work is coming along nicely.

16 volts baby!! I use Kinetik because we get an awesome Team price and I can pretty much get 2 16v Kinetik's for the price of one Powermaster. The Kinetik battery would be the least expensive battery if you are looking at it from a "run your whole vehicle off of it" standpoint. With enough of a bank of batteries and a good solid 16 volt alternator you could simply run a power wire from the 12 volt post back to the 12 volt buffer battery up front to charge your electrical. If it sounds complicated, then you might need to get some help, but it's not really that hard and I have never had a battery bulge due to hooking it up this way. If all you are going to do is burp the vehicle for a show, or don't care about cost, then by all means get Powermasters or a Batcap 8400 and you will be more than happy.
