The 390 beats the 270XP on the power curve from 2500 alternator RPM and up... so the 390 will have better output above 750-800 engine RPMs. As for the jolts and what not... I'll let you know when I get one in my car. but it will just be a slight pull on the engine.. lol. -
the big difference between the others versus the HP is the ripple current. Versus having 35-40 AC ripple current, the HP series alternators only produce 4-6. so you in essence get cleaner power and zero electrical noise from the alternator. You will never notice the 30 amp difference on the top but you will notice the 30 amp difference at idle..

We can do the old school style that we're using for my car with the machined casing to make it fit with our vehicle along with a bracket... other than manual machine time it shouldn't take long.. but i would definitely wait for the new cases we will be developing with our machines.. VCM should work no problem.. -

So far we haven't had the time to do duals on the motor yet. CNCs are on the way so it should help us making some cool stuff for the car. As for the best bet... I would do a 390 for now cause I can't promise the dual kit yet. -

You've been refunded as of about 30 minutes ago. It will take a couple days to go back on your card but you're all taken care of.

We sent in our PO for the Frames and they estimated them to be delivered next week. As long as everything is kosher we will be getting them out shortly thereafter. Sorry for the delay.

If you look at the tensioner, see how it's all the way to the right? ya, well problem solved -

Unfortunately we do not have a dual kit, but we can do pretty much whatever you'd like in there for a single alternator.. -

Alright guys, I figured I would share some pictures of randy's bracket and frames for his alternators. This was taken with my phone on a rainy day so pics really do no justice.. Just to let you know that we've been working diligently on it.. Test fitted.. I hope you like -
What size motor?

We will have to look more into how the serpentine system is in this car. The motor would be able to swing it, however this is a new accessory drive system by Toyota: "...I have also notice a newly designed accessory drive system. This system utilizes a single, short belt from te crank pulley for power. In turn, it drives the engine accessories, ie alternator, A/C compressor, and possibly the water pump. Having no long serpentine belt, you eliminate possible belt slipping from belt stretch (more pronounced the longer the belt) and you alleviate friction from multiple pullies. Gone away is the need for a power steering pump as this vehicle comes equipped with a Electric Power Steering Assist." http://www.club-tc.com/forums/engine-performance/4566-new-toys-6-speed-manual-trans-2-5l-2ar-fe.html so we arent sure how well the tensioner would handle that much load. The 320 will still do around 70-80 or so at idle.. but you would have really really good top end.
-
Ahh, you got my dads car, the 2AR-FE. We can still do a 320 or a 180 if you'd like to. The belt is a little smaller than I'd like to see but it's possible with the belt wrap it has.

I Accidentally left my carputer on last night. When i started my car the XP wasn't making my engine happy charging the batteries up at full load. Anyways, this is what happens when the 270XP loads down a 4 cylinder's engine at idle. It takes 20 seconds for the computer to actually realize what's going on and adjust for the load compensation. The alternator in this car idles at 2,000 alternator RPMs. 500 alternator RPMS LESS than the competition. It's rated to do 180 amps or so at this RPM. It takes power to make power. This proves it. -
We can do this on HPs as well. However we have more custom frames designed for the XPs.
-
@gcs8 are you running the 2AZ-FE or the 2AR-FE. The 2.5L is the 2AR-FE. We are faced with the problem being the belt. It's a 4 groove if i remember correctly. Just need to confirm what engine it is.
