    2011 chevy cruze HO alt?

Let me take a look into this for you... give me until the beginning of the week. EDIT: If you can get me pictures of this alternator in the vehicle that would be the only way for us to know...

    This is a HP alternator

    Alt for 2006 GTO?

We actually have our XPs if you're looking for some serious power. We have these available in 250 amp or 270 form. More information available here: https://www.dcpowerinc.com/8237-270-xp.html https://www.dcpowerinc.com/8237-250-xp.html

Glad to hear things went pretty smooth. I'll relay the bolt information on to dave. If the gates green belt works, run that over the black belt.. they're a lot stronger.

Looks very badass. FYI we could run stock size pulleys and still see 160-170 at idle.. but 190-210 is always better Why didn't the belt work for you?

Look what DC Power sent me

Eric, I saw that you dropped it off. We will take a look at the alternator and see what's up. We do have an idea of what's causing this problem but I want to make sure we're correct before I post about it. I will keep you updated though! Thanks for being a great hamster for the Hyundai's

You mean go without such a small pulley? Glad you liked the powder coating! Enjoy!

From what I read it seems you got it figured out. If you have any more issues just shoot me an e-mail at [email protected] or call me. Always the best way to get ahold of me

Eric, I'm going to have Rob chime in on this.. I made him aware of the topic.

Sorry for the late response. Had a crazy week on the phones. Yes the PRO/OEM/SP alternators are AVBM friendly.

    270xp compatibilty

We've seen the voltage sporadically go back down to 15 and up to the higher voltage set point. This seems to happen more and more when you get over 16.5 volts. The reason is the AVBM tricks the alternator into thinking that it is putting out lower voltage than it really is. Our regulators have external sense (which is what the AVBM uses to boost the voltage) and internal sense. When the remote sense (external sense) goes over x.xx than what it sees internally it thinks there is something wrong with the external sense reading and will then stop remote sensing and then use the internal sense of the alternator for a security precaution.

    230XP On Fire?!?!

Customer had something come loose under the hood of the vehicle and brought this into us... Voltage regulator before: Voltage regulator after: Did it work? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLWlo2I3Dw4 I guess they are kind've virtually indestructible.

    Looking to upgrade

I understand that. Let us get caught up with production on our billet frames for people that have been waiting for XPs and HPs then we will start with the custom development Maybe a month or so?

Unfortunately this is something we will most likely never do. I apologize.

Belt routing relay harness: https://support.dcpowerinc.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/4/0/installation-guide-for-relay-harness-with-blue-sense-wire ground studs on alternators aren't needed... the alternator itself is a grounding point if it was needed OEM manufactures would do it as well :laughs: ground anywhere to the bracket, engine, back of the alternator where the mounting holes are, or wherever else you can get some grounds on.

    is bigger better

Good to hear! Not many people can justify the extra price difference but seeing what they do first hand mind boggles me. We had a customer with a mustang in the shop with 3 15s and running a crap ton of power. After 25 minutes of absolute hell on the alternator in the shop from playing full tilt the 390XP was still putting out 315 amps at 13.5 volts.. I don't think any other "390" amp unit could survive what we did to that poor thing.

    Looking to upgrade

Unfortunately I don't want to take anyones money until we have everything ready, developed and ready to ship. This is where we always get in trouble because of development times change all the time depending on what needs to be pushed ahead. I hope you understand.
  22. DC Power Kyle

    differences in models?

We don't have anything similar to the VCM or VCBM. The SP/PRO/OEM alternators are compatible with those. The XP and HP alternators are not compatible with them though however.
  23. DC Power Kyle

    low voltage!!

You shouldn't be dropping that much. I'm running 13kw and not dropping nearly as much as that on a 270XP. Please check for belt slip and all of your connections. If you're getting 11.9 at 2,000 RPMs something really isn't right or those amps are very inefficient.
