Ive got my factory 130 amp alt and i also have my 270xp (which is currently installed) however im wanting to run dual alts. my question is are the xp's self exciting? or whats need to wire up my factory oem 130 amp and my dc power 270xp..

as stated if you have the electrical , .5 isnt a problem... i ran my AQ amps @ .5 daily once my new sundown saz2000 gets here it will be ran @ .5 daily as well.. i know of serveral pppl running sundowns @ .35 daily.... goin from 1ohm down to .05ohm adds a considerable amount of draw on all your compponents.

for 4 sa8's d4's so i csn run 2 ohm or .5ohm nominal..... ive got a dc 270xp alt and 2 discovery dt12-4000 agm g31 batterys. was thinking a saz2500 @ .5 nominal

the day pre order is aval for these im on deck for 4! originally was gonna hold out for em but decided to swoop 4 sa8s untill then..

considering a cresendo bc5500d ran daily @ 2ohms... which would give me plenty of power and once the sundown x8"s are released i can swap the sa8s out for the x8s then use the amp to its full potential.. at this point ths is what im leaning towards the most.. id love to do a saz4500 @ 2ohm but they are pretty pricey and dont really wanna go with a used amp.. unless it was one hell of a deal

i have a 270xp already on its way.. however last week my alt went completely out so i had to buy a oem repleacment.. once back from my honeymoon ina cple weeks id like to switch to dual alts, whats needed besides the bracket and belt for me to run my 270xp and my oem 130amp alt..??

gettina killer deal a bnib 270xp, ive heard deiffrent things so jsut wanted to make SURE on which info is correct. I have a mechman ABVM is or is it not compatible with this unit? vehicle is a 01 gmc sierra 5.3

interesteing!, see ive heard a few diff thing about em, i heard voltage point is set at 14.3 your seeing 15.xx before i go spending this kinda money id like to know what it is im buying

i wasnt and dont plan to run it any higher that 16.5 ever if ever. originally i wanted to switch over to a 14v system with a 16.5 charge.. but the more i think about it the more im sur ei wanna stay at 12v system. which im running optima yellow tops which can safely be charged at 15.0v so would assume ona cold charge i could have it set to. 15.2 or so so it drops back down to 14.9 or so.. so would that work then or assuming not becuase of the design? and what is the voltage set point? can it be adjusted?

yeah im tryin to buy one today.. if i cant find one cheaper than what im finding.. on average ($300) i may design/build my own, altho id preffer to buy a prefab one. as my time is very limited

ok so i kknow atleast for my vechile 01 gmc sierra that the dual alt brakcets are pretty simple design.. cant fathom spending 200plus dollar for a piece of cnc cut 3/8 steel. so basically was wondering if anyone has made their own dual alt brackets, who all sell dual alt brakcets?

im assumeing the pro is best suited for me..

i see that the dif models have diff outputs but whats the difference between the models? im in the market to buy a new alt, like today (iknow tomorrow is soon as i can) ad i jsut wanna make sure i get the right one for what i need i was looking at the 280 pro???
