Hey, I just got a 15" BL in a a 3.6 cube box tuned to 33hz. It pounds and rumbles hardcore, but doesn't move enough air to make me happy. So I'm looking for some new setup ideas... My car is a 1996 Cutlass Supreme, so I don't have tons of trunk space. But I'm looking for something ridiculous that I can fit in here. Maybe 2 12"'s or something like that. I can proboly fit 2 15" in a sealed but I want ported So what are some ideas? I've looked at Orions and DD 9512 or maybe 2 13w7 even though there crazy overpriced. What are your opinions?

The new xcon pics are sexy as hell!!! I think I may do two 12's in a ported box. I will proboly tune it pretty low, proboly around 30 depending how the Xcons work at that frequency. And also make a fairly big enclosure after I figure out the specs!

Wow that looks soo pimp!

Would't two 12's sound better and move more air? Not for sure louder but move more air?
-
18" BTL would be ridiculous but I couldn't fit it lol. How are the 12" Nightshades?
-
Ok, the only reason I was thinking 2 ports, is looks and I hear sometimes the sub closer to the port gets out of sync from the other sub if you know what im meaning. Dont know if its true but I had heard that. But ok 1 port will be fine. Also I don't really want the BTL's cause I hear I will get better lows and SQ from XCON and still get crazy loud and push a ton of air, which is exactly what I want!

I'm really going to look into the Xcons and the DD 9512's. I'm thinkin a pair of 12's. Plan for a box would be roughly...about 2-2.5 cubes per sub, so I'm thinking around 5 cubes before displacement. And I'm looking to tune around 30 - 33hz. It will be a dual L-Port box, so if someone could help design two L-ports tuned around 31hz. If you think that would be a good frequency for daily and for hip-hop music.

Working on a new alt, and I'm going to run an HC 2400 or so. And I have the big 3 under the hood. The amp I am powering the BL with is the JL 1000/1 but when I run new subs I will use a bigger amp. Yea I'm looking for 2 12" in a ported tuned low around 30 - 33hz for a LOUD daily driver. Would the BTL's be good in that low of a tuning. And I know 30 - 33hz isnt an SPL tuning. I'm just looking for subs that will move lots of air and rumble crazy!
-
Not 100% sure. But I'm going to guess around 5 - 5.5cubes That's the biggest problem, I'm looking for a ridiculous system but I don't want to switch the car.

And I was also more than happy with the service.

I ordered a 15" Fi BL and recieved it in only 8 days and I'm in Canada

Hey guys, my enclosure is nearly finished. The specs are.... It's 3.97 cubes before displacement, so I am guessing around 3.5 after due to the sub displacement and the bracing. The box is tuned around 33hz. I've tryed it in my friends vehicle and it pounds pretty hard. Not 100% happy yet. I'm thinking that's just because it's not broken in yet. I heard it in a Ford Expedtion, but the sub will be going in a 96 Cutlass Supreme. Hopefully it will get much louder. I'm powering it with a JL 1000/1. But what I'm wanting to know is are those good specs for the box? That's about the biggest box I could fit in the trunk. Help would be appreciated!

Also I'm looking for fairly crazy bass. Was this a good choice? My other choice was 2 15" Q's in a sealed. Which would get louder? I know Q's have better SQ

Hey, just received my 15" Fi BL and just constructed a box for it. Box specs: Port Area - 55 Volume before displacement - 3.97 Frequency - 32.2hz - 32.6hz Setup: 15" Fi BL Jl 1000/1 2 awg wiring Stock deck Stock Electrical Here's the problem. My freind with a 12w7 in an H/O box kicks this subs ass! His Setup: 12w7 in H/O box Alpine PDX 1000.1 4 awg wiring Alpine deck Stock electrical His system is in a Dodge Magnum mine is a Ford Expedition soon to be a 96 Cutlass. My plans: Kinetik HC 1800 or more Non stock deck Big 3 under hood Maybe new ALt What else do I need to make it pound harder? New amp? Is the box good specs? Help would be amazing!!!!!!

I did brace the box some. And yea I meant Square port area, sorry bout that. Well the port is 4 inches wide, the first port piece is 13.5 x 13.5 The second is 13.5 x 8. The RE calc figured that out to be around 32.5hz
-
I used the RE Enclosure calculator and the Volume before displacement is after the port. I'm thinking after all displacement it leaves me somewhere around 3.6 cubes. What is the problem with the box your seeing. Dimensions: 36L x 15H x 19D Port Width: 4" Length: 8" 5/8 MDF Tuned around 32.5hz Square Port Volume: 55
-
Ok, well I plan on the deck soon, and big 3 obviously. And I dont have the meters and tools to adjust the amp so I will wait for a store to do that. Also after the sub is broke in more will it get noticeably louder?

Ok sweet

Hey, I just bought 1 15" Fi Bl with the cooling option and it's a 1 ohm DVC because the amp I'm running is a JL 1000/1 and can put 1000 watts for 1-4 ohms. My dillema is my box design, It will be a dual L-port box. Heres the numbers I have so far... Max Dimensions - 45w x 17h x 24d Heres my numbers right now... 44w x 17h x 20d 3/4 MDF 2 ports...3 inch wide by 8 inch which is 93 square port area. 4.9 Cube box 32.8hz Square Port Volume Displaced - 3648 Any numbers I should change? Would it be better 1 port 6 wide by 16 inches? Also would that be a good size and frequency?? CHEERS
-
Ok, so I think I designed my final box, just need a last opinion. There is 77.5 square port area for a 4.9 cube box before displacement, after the sub it will bring it to about 4.7. Than I am adding a brace in each corner so I'm thinking it will be around 4.3 after displacement. My tuning frequency will be around 32-33hz I know the box is a little bit bigger than it calls for, but I hear it doesn't matter if it's a little bit bigger. Also I'm putting the sub to a JL 1000/1 Quickly need opinion on the box!

I've been told everywhere that the jump in SQ isn't much and also the SPL is alot more on the BL And I also hear on other forums they recommend the BL for rap because Q's are better in sealed box! Would 35hz be a good tuning to get good SPL and hit the lows?
-
I'm talking 4.3 before displacement and bracing. Also I'm looking for the low bass that shakes the whole car and moves alot of air and the bass you can feel throughout your body, not so much the bass that would score high on a term lab. What's a good frequency for everyday listening? I listen to almost all rap. Last questions could I make a type of muffler out of 1/2 MDF and cover the port for rock music? Or is that pointless?
-
So like 4.3 cubes with aroung 60 - 70 port area and tuned to around 33-35hz
