Nice pics Trevor! Lay that pipe! I bet that's a challenge to weld that close to the ground. How do the check that out in the field? Still by x-ray or do they use some other method?

Omfg! Can we?!

Exactly, test & re-test....

To keep on topic: I know a lot of people keep little tricks under wraps while competing. Remember, everyone in the lanes are usually trying to beat one another & get that trophy. It's been my experience to look at what others are doing and wonder why they did what they did. Try to apply basic knowledge of physics into what you are doing. If it's a sealed up metering run and your leaking air, there's a loss of pressure.... I also fully agree with what was said earlier about the resonant frequencies of the vehicle & build which all play into the cabin space, i.e. "B" pillar wall, trunk build, basic enclosure laying below window line in cargo area....ect. Different layouts will yield different results. That's why you see most of the big players either have a meter or access to one all the time to test any modifications.

I just started on the new design for my build. There's a few new details like new stainless accents, completely new enclosure design, and a new Mechman H/O alternator. Here's a few pix of what I've done so far: New bracket to hold the inline fuse under the hood. (10ga. 304 stainless steel) New front battery top strap. (10ga. 304 stainless steel) This could only mean one thing............. Common chamber for 2~15" Icon D1 - 8cf. @ 27hz I'll keep chugging away (weather permitting) and snappin' pix as I go. It's supposed to rain all weekend here so very little will happen in the next few days. The alternator should be here next week sometime.

Thank you David Still like new after all the beating it's taken. Had to jam some classics, Young Bleed & Paul Wall. I was going to play a scale from 30-50hz, but that kinda boring on video...lol

Super cool! Can't wait to hear it when it's done.

Sweet! That garage is cranking out projects one after another!

Love the editing & production of this video. Very cool!

Locktite on them studs will make sure it never happens again. Blue is probably better if you plan on never removing the glass.
-
For sure. I would love to meet up with you guys sometime. I always love to demo & meet fellow forum members.

Still to this day I have never heard anything as clean as this version of the Icon. In the right enclosure these things are like ear sex & get unbelievably loud! My last metering with two 15's on 3500 rms was a 150db @ 32hz!

Sweet lord that's huge! Watch the dust & fumes in the air with that open flame. On many of the sites I'm on they use ones fed by natural gas. But that's usually a huge building. Regardless that looks like it's gonna cook you in that shop.
-
Holy crap this digs deep. I even get roof flex with one 15! It's been 2 days now on 2200 rms @ 2 ohm. I've been real careful not to have the over excursion that I had with the last set up. I gotta get a video of this up soon.

Another 6th order blowthrough, plexiglass, leds, all that shiz.

As far as an adhesive, it's insanely strong & flexible. It is a little on the expensive side. I do like it better than 100% silicone. -

Have you ever tried this stuff? I used it in my accordion boot for my cap to cab seal. -
Thanks Trevor! Your advice a long time ago to try these out was the best piece of advice you ever gave me on a subwoofer. These icons are why I proudly represented SSA everywhere I ever went. If I had another chance to buy this identical model brand new I would do a build with 4 of these and do shows again.
