Man I gotta fly out and get a tour next spring!!! It'd be like a pilgrimage!!! LOL
-
Links being sent..

Dang..... I didn't make it... I better get the camera back out and try again! LOL
-
Alright, what the damages.....I need a bigun in blue if you picked that color!
-
Take your time bro! Rushing stuff makes it look sloppy. It all looks good so far.
-
Yep, but the seal needs to set for at least a few weeks before I can put a load on it...(like SPL) If I do and the seal fails, the warranty is void. The installers couldn't miss the huge set up in the rear of my truck, so they made note.....

Dang........ I need a freaking Pantone book!!!! I'd love to match the color of my truck. Even if I had to pay a lil' extra.... All I need is a big sticker...(I lack side windows) A windshield banner would be super cool too!!! (might be a lil' much but ???)

FYI I wasn't using the foil tape to "hold it in place" I notice a slight bit of seeping on the edges during super hot summer days. To nip it in the bud I foil taped every edge and seem. Worked like a charm. I have most of my truck done in B-Quiet. I just think, like everything, the installation of the product sets half the tone for how well it performs. The composition of the material has the other half. For every soundmat you'll hear complaints about this and that... As far as vertical surfaces and roofs, you have to take into consideration, why did it really fail? Was the surface either: a) not cleaned at all b) cleaned half ass c) properly cleaned d) gap "bridging" too far? Was the mat applied by fingers, hands, and a piece of s*** tiny roller, or was it pressed and rolled out correctly? To be honest, I haven't actually seen any brand of mat fall off unless there were installed incorrectly. The only way you could actually tell performance wise in a real world application, would be to mic the outside of the vehicle before and after. Then do it over and over using various products in a controlled environment. i.e. same car make and model, same stereo gear, ect.

X2 Could it be done like a paint filled engrave? Or LED lit Lexan inlay!!! It'd take a lot longer...(bad thing I guess) Looks sweet! I really like the change!!

I can have a few made in blue for your truck, just don't think most people will want them. Awesome!!! Man I could hug you right now but that'd be weird.....LOL Just let me know when you're planning on running them and I can pay or give any info you'll need. (i.e. mailing address) No more naked window!! Woo-Hoo!!!!

No...not yet.....next spring for sure!!! But, I may have a few potential new customers!!! Everyone is really impressed with the Icon, once they find out there's an upgrade (Xcon) They start asking Q's I don't have any answers for. These guys out here are all jacked up on Kicker... Until they lay ears on my Icons that is! LOL I've had 5 offers as of lately to do full installs, so I'm trying to piece things out to get SSA on the road out here. (BTW I'm not a fan of Kicker anything, though they make good paperweights! LOL)

The sizes are perfect.... How about one with Blue????? I fear the red will turn pink or magenta after a year in the sun....
-
yeah, yeah....LOL post up pics!
-
A little can is only a few bucks.... I bet there's enough in the couch and pockets of dirty laundry...LOL
-
I just thought it'd be less work on your part.... The resin should fill the gaps between the wires and form up solid enough to never move. It works for me fine....LOL
-
F/G the wire penetration. IMO

I've used B-Quiet on the past two installs I've done. Never had a problem with it. One of the most common mistakes in using any deadening product is that most people don't use foil tape on the seams and edges... This will prevent oozing and the vertical sliding like pictured above. Pick up a roll at Home Depot or Lowe's It's in the HVAC and insulation isle..

I wouldn't put a dowl that close to the opening of the port though, it'll create turbulence which will create noise. Plus you really shouldn't need bracing there. The flex on those panels will be almost nil, due to the distance between the port walls.

Indy Slamology 2009 June 20-21

You better hurry on the pre-registration, it ends tomorrow the 12th. I still don't quite understand the rules of the DB Drag.. What all would I need (besides my truck) to compete in one? I was reading about using the "official disc" which I don't have, also a build log book of some kind???? Plus, the classes confuse me too. I've only done this stuff for fun..........never competed -
I like the fab work on the fuse blocks! Nice idea.
