Do you think that two Shiva-x's would be too much for my room, with a O Audio 500 watt amp, or something similar? I think what I am going to do, is get the Dayton SA240 240 watt amp with the Shiva-x sub, then ask for the O Audio amp for Christmas, and maybe another Shiva-x, if one isn't quite good enough, which I hope one will be. Thanks As rush said, you are WAY out of your price range at that point realisticaly. If you have more money let us know. Is there a reason you want more than one sub? If you have a valid point we can change it up and work with that too. In your situation, it would probably just make things much more complex, and end up being less logical. We want to help you, but you're changing the rules. It's easy to get excited, and shoot for the stars and go up and up and up but eventualy you run out of cash. Why don't you tell us what the absolute max for budget is. Let us know if that includes the box or just the woofer and electronics. Well, the price range that I set was just what I could spend, I didn't even think about anyhing else like gifts and stuff. And I just firgured two subs would better since you can split the load between them, so it's not stressing one so much. The absolute max is $500, i guess, but would like to keep it below $425 if possible. And I would have to save untill around February of next year, and my birthday will help also. And that is without the box and accessories, just the electronics. What can you do with this? What sub, amp, and crossover, and box type and size would you recommend? Thanks for the help. Sounds like you need a job. Its best to learn early on that its not always good to rely on other people. just my 0.02 cents The only reason I am here is becuase I don't know what to get, cause I don't know what is good, well...somewhat. I know that certain subs are bad quality; I didn't know that the Pyle amp off of Ebay was bad quality. I do now though, becuase I asked here first, before wasting my money on something that would break and be bad quality. And I do know that it isn't always good to rely on other people, becuase they could just be saying stuff to make them sound like they know what they are talking about, or they just think that one thing will be better than the other becuase they have it. And, there are people that WILL help others out if they don't know what to do. If I hadn't been told otherwise, I would have ordered 2 Kicker COMPS and be very dissappointed, but now I also know that those aren't good for low frequencies. I have learned a lot in the past 2 days, or whenever I posted this topic. Thanks

Ok, I will try to get the Shiva. Is this sub almost as good as the Shiva? http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/zencart...;products_id=54 Thanks Edit: Would the Exodus DPL-15 sound better in my room over the Shiva-x 12"? I know that bigger isn't always better, but I was just wondering. Thanks
-
So, would two Daytons be comparable then? Again, just trying to save money where I can...if possible. Thanks
-
Man, I wish I had like $200 right now...I would get it. Oh well. Why can't I find any videos if the Shiva-x anywhere? Thanks
-
Are you talking about the Shiva-x, or the other one? Here's a link to the Shiva-x http://www.diycable.com/main/product_info....products_id=653 Thanks

I have had a few people recommend the Shiva-x, and the GR Research sub, GR found here: http://www.gr-research.com/index.asp?PageA...&ProdID=131 Would one of these sound better than 2 12's Dayton, or the 15? Thanks
-
Ok, I see. Now it sounds better. Thanks for all the links. Great Help.

Well, since the 15" is a woofer and not a sub woofer, won't in not be able to hit the lows properly? Or is that just becuase the amp is set wrong? I'm looking to spend $250-$350 or so. But, I might just ask for the O Audio amp for Christmas and just get the Dayton 240w amp whenever I can. Thanks Edit: Well, I mostly listen to music, not only KMK, but other stuff also like Hatebreed, Mudvayne, Slipknot, hard rock bands like that. But I would watch more movies once I do get a new sub though. So, KMK would be like movies, instead of musical production, or whatever it would be called?

What do you mean by the quatro will sound better? As in clearer sound, or something else? Would it sound better than 2 12's? I don't want something that will sound muddled while playing, which I don't think that 2 12's will, but just want to make sure. Thanks Sorry for the double post, wouldn't let me edit it. I meant 2 10" instead of 2 12". Thanks

I was actually just looking at those 12's. But. space isn't really a problem, I can just hopefully split them up, and place one on each side of my bookshelf that has my tv and other things in it. Will those 2 12's be able to handle the lows without bottoming out easily like my Yamaha sub? I would really like these subs to be able to handle the lows like the ones in the song Down 4 THE Krown by Kottonmouth Kings. Song is supposed to be Down 4 T h a Krown (without the spaces in t h a) instead of THE but it wouldn't allow it. Do you think that they could handle it? And what kind of crossover should I get? Thanks

So, with the sub facing down is the best way to go? And, does anyone else have something hopefully good also to say about Dayton subs? I just really want to make sure that it will have what I want...not that I don't trust you, rushnrun cause I do. Does it matter that the Dayton woofers are not in the sub section? I will also have my current sub (front-firing, side port) in a corner. I think this is where it sounds the best. Thanks enough said, now start building. your next question should be on box design. Sounds like you want a do it all setup..as mentioned by some of the other dudes... tune in the region of 30 hz and call it the day. Lol. And your bottom line in your sig is funny. Anyways... for my room size (13x13) should I just go for one 12", or two 10's? Just trying to save money and space, if possible. Edit: Should I go for ported or sealed enclosure? Also, should I get any kind of crossover, even though there is a adjustment for one on my receiver and probably one on the amp? Edit#2: Would this sub http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=295-550 be better than two of these ones? http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=295-315 With all of those being powered by the Dayton SA240 240 watt amp? http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl....tnumber=300-804 Thanks for all the help. I know I ask a lot of questions, I just want to know what to get.

How did rear firing cause too much rattling windows? Did it make that much of a difference? Thanks
-
Ok, I think I will go with the 2 12's or maybe a 15. Thanks for the help so far. How should I build the box?
-
Oops, double post. Got an error message the first try...
-
Yeah I know. I just don't want to use $70 and maybe not like it. Just trying to get the best bang for the buck if ya know what I mean... Would 2 Dayton 12's be too much? Or could the amp not put out enough for two? Thanks
-
Haha, ok thanks. Is there some other brand of the plate amps that can put out more watts for cheaper? I have actually looked, but don't know what to get, or from where. Would the Diamond D3 10" or RE Audio SE 10" sound better than the Dayton 15" woofer found here ( http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl....tnumber=295-325 ) ? My brother-in-law is saying that a 15" is too big for my room, and won't sound as good as a 10", for my room, but I don't know. Maybe he could be wrong. Any comments on that? Thanks

Around $140 or so for just the sub, but would prefer it to be below that price. Around $180 or so for the amp also. And my bad about the poll question. Haha, I wasn't even thinking about it when I posted it. If I got a sub for SPL, would it just not hit the notes clean, or is there something else that defines Sound Quality? Thanks EDIT: Is this sub any better than 2 COMPS, Diamond Audio, or RE Audio? http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=295-414 Edit #2: Would it be better to get this Plate amp instead of the Pyle PT3300? http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=300-750 comps suck on lowend especially if your gonna watch movies.... they daytona might be a good match .. i have never heard one personally but i have heard of people having decent result from them... what are you planning on doing as far as enclosure goes... a big ported or tline would be nice in my op Well, would 2 Kicker 10" CVR's be any better than the comps? And for the enclosure, I just want what will sound the best overall. Thanks

Thhanks for the good info. I'm new to this forum and car audio, but have been on many other types of forums...
