I would probably be interested. How much do you think you could sell them for? And when would you be selling them, becuase I probably won't have the money until after summer break, if not later. I'm not sure that I would get this quite yet. Even though WinISD shows the MJ-18M having more SPL after 20 or so hertz, the Dayton 15" HF gets it below the 20hz range. Thanks for the help That would work. I won't have the money to recone them for a few weeks yet. I would have to think about a price, but probably around 100-125ish each. I'll figure it out after I pay for the recone and get it done. Just stay in touch with me if you're interested. Ok, thanks for the offer. I will think about once I decide on what I will be doing. If I don't have the money when you are ready to sell them, feel free to go ahead and sell them. I don't want to hold you up any. How much would shipping be? Thanks again.

Kicker L5 10"? I really wouldn't want an L series for HT. However, I have never used one, so maybe people have had luck with them... Why wouldn't you want one for HT? Just personal opinion, or do you think it wouldn't sound good? And I looked for a used SI 15" Mag, but couldn't find any. Just new ones at $500. Does anyone know where I could get a lightly used one for something within my price range? Thanks for the help

What's his website? I'll check it out to see what he's got. Thanks

Kicker L5 10"?

Why did you hate the Dayton HF 15"? It just doesn't sound right. I'm pretty sure the box is 70% of the issue, but I haven't had time to rebuild it. Plus the Mag is in an entirely different category in my opinion. Have you thought about shopping used? I picked up the Mag off of here for $100 SHIPPED. good option! good price. I didnt think to mentioned used. the mag is a great woofer. Where can I find the Mag? I haven't even heard of it. Thanks

What I meant in the KMK songs, is the semi-low rumble after a hit. I didn't really mean the low frequencies like 10-15hz, just what was after the hit. I will also be playing video games quite a bit, more so than movies, so would the Shiva still be better for games also? For the bold part in the quote, how much better quality would the sound be from the Shiva over the Dayton? I'm almost positive the Shiva will go loud enough, but if the sound quality will be a lot better, I will go with the Shiva-X and the Dayton SA240 amp. Thanks for the help

Oh, no I was just wondering if I needed one so the sub would sound better. I have been suggested a 15" Dayton RSS390 HO sub, and a Bash 300W amp now on a different forum. Would this sound better for my application rather than the Shiva with the Dayton SA240? The Dayton 15 would be in a sealed enclosure by the way. Link to sub: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=295-469 Link to amp: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=300-750 It would actually be a little less expensive than the Shiva set up becuase there is free shipping for PE. Thanks for all of the help and for answering my questions

Should I go with a Sonotube design, or just a 6 cu. ft. cube for the Shiva-X with the Dayton SA240? Here is a crude diamgram of my room. Keep in mind that the furniture placements aren't to size, but are in the right place. The question is, where should I place the sub, and what kind of design should I go for? I would like to keep it right beside my dresser, but if it can sound better somewhere else, can you tell me where? I mostly sit at the left side at end of my bed (the end closest to the bottom of the picture) so I would like it to sound its best right there, if possible. Thanks

Ok, so even though the amps' xover only go down to 40hz, I won't need any crossover board to get it down to 20 or so hz? Thanks for the help
-
How something sounds will be completely dependent on the box. I, still, would get the Shiva-x and port it to about 20-25Hz. Ok, I think that's what I'm going to get. But the amp is going to be the Dayton SA240 watt amp with no bass boost. Also if I don't like this amp, I can always get the O Audio 500w amp for my birthday What kind of crossovers should I get? Thanks

How big is a 6 cu. ft. box? Designed as a cube, if possible... Thanks

Can anyone tell me if the CSS Kit that includes the 10" driver, 2 PR's, and the 300W amp would sound better than a Shiva-x with a Dayton SA240 watt amp? By sounding better, I mean that it will hit harder in Rock songs, and be able to handle the lows in songs like Down 4 T h a Krown, and some bass testers songs like Bass I Love You, and Beats for My Van. Any help? Thanks for all of the help so far. Been a great help. If I didn't come here, I probably would have just got the 2 Kicker Comps and been unhappy...

Ok, I think I will get the Shiva-x, but I have just a few more questions. Would the Shiva-x hit harder in Rock songs, or the CSS Kit? Which would be able to pick up the lows in songs like KMK, and be able to handle them really loud? Also, my room is a square (obviously) should I put the sub in the corner? There is exactly 19 inches between my floor bordes, and my dresser. And I have carpet, if that matters any... Anyways, would it be better to put the new sub by my wall unit that is 56 inches away from the side wall? Also, what kind of crossover do I need to get? Any good brands for that also? Thanks

Here's what he said, and what I asked him: Most of the OEM subs are small, and require equalization in order to achieve good performance. They also tend to have very steep subsonic filters that are set high (30Hz or so). That means they just won't work with the Shiva in our recommended boxes. I'd not even waste your time on it. The PE 500W Bash amp is a good solution for the money. If it is designed around an 8-ohm load you might damage the amp. It also likely has tons of EQ so it will most likely be a horrible solution to drive the Shiva. But, I have a question about it. If I get the Shiva-x, can I hook it up to my current Yamaha sub's amplifier without it harming the Shva-x sub? As far as I know, most home theater subs are 8 ohm, and my other Yamaha 8" sub is an 8 ohm, so I am assuming that mine is too, and I see that the Shiva-x has dual 8 ohm Voice Coils. Thanks Anything else I need to ask him about it? Thanks

Sorry, I should have defined what I meant by sounding better. What I mean is, which kit would be able to handle the low frequencies better as in louder and cleaner without bottoming out? Also, what I was thinking about doing with the Shiva-x, if the box is big enough, is instead of getting the O Audio amp, could I just get 2 Dayton SA240 watt amps and have it equal close to the output of the O Audio amp? Thanks

Ok, I just emailed DIY cable about it. Do you guys want me to tell what he says, in case you want to know? Would this sound better than the Shiva-x with the O Audio amp? And, it's actually quite a bit cheaper http://www.creativesound.ca/details.php?model=QUARTET10 Thanks

Ok, I'll try to make sure it somes in D4. But, of course I will upgrede down the line. How should I build the box, like down firing, front firing, etc...? Thanks for the help
-
Ok, thanks. Is there a way I could just run the Shiva-x to my Yamaha 8 ohm 100 watt amp from my current sub until I get a new amp? Of course without harming the new sub though. Thanks
-
Man, why does everything seem like it's out of my price range? Ha ohwell. Would the Dayton SA240 amp be decent enough to power the sub until I get the O Audio amp? Thanks Is this rack amp any good? Or is the O Audio still better? I might be able to spend around $300 on a amp now. http://www.directproaudio.com/product.cfm?directid=54081
-
Ok. Is the O Audio amp any better than this? Also, what do you mean don't run the sub to my receiver? I was just meaning using my current sub's amp until I could get a better amp. Thanks
-
Oh, Ok. Ya I knew what that stood for then If I get this sub, could I make a new box, and hook my 8 ohm amp from my Yamaha sub up to it, if I can wire the sub to run at 8 ohm? Thanks
-
That's what I would do. That would be a great combination. Just make sure you get the right VC configuration. What's the right VC configuration? And what does that mean? Ha I don't know very many of the audio terms yet, but I'm learning. Thanks

Sorry for the double post wouldn't let me edit the last one. So, should I just get the Shiva-x with the O Audio amp and just save the rest of the $425-500 left over, or does someone else have some other suggestion that could be even better? Thanks
